  • Found this no knead bread from #jennycancook and tweaked it to sourdough without dutch oven. I know not all homes have dutch oven so, I researched another trick, water bath! I found out that you will get the same result, crunchy outside but soft in the inside.
Let me know how yours turned out.
    Ingredients
3 cups bread flour or all purpose flour
    1/4 teaspoon yeast
    1 teaspoon salt
    1 1/2 cups warm water
Just mix together and proof for 8 or even 12hrs. This will create the sourdough taste.
Correction: Before putting the dough in the oven, cover for 30mins to proof. Pre-heat your oven 10 to 15mins max.
Gospel verse for Bread that lasts forever:
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, (Romans 3:23, NASB)

There is no sourdough in this dough. It's raised by yeast! Misleading!

Thanks for watching! We understand sourdough purists. Others would call this ‘sourdough cheat’ instead as an artisan bread.

@@jens2-minutekitchen679 Nope. Nobody would consider this sourdough. There are cheat sourdoughs but this isn't it

@@jens2-minutekitchen679 Sorry Jens if you want to make it sour it has to be soured by something. Acetic acid produces the sour taste in sourdough so you'd have to find the proportion it requires, basically pure unflavored vinegar. But you can make a kind of a sourdough using a certain proportion of unsweetened white yogurt.

This would be a great video minus the clickbait. Maybe consider making the title accurate. Cheers! I bet your 🍞 is really good!,No hate from me just friendly truthfulness.

This recipe is similar to other no knead recipes on TH-cam which I have made successfully. The bread is delicious. I don’t know what sourdough bread tastes like since I have only tasted commercially made versions which are not made from a starter and contain vinegar, yeast and other ingredients. Since I don’t feel inclined to spend the time making a sourdough starter , your very nice recipe will do me fine ! Thank you.

Sourdough is essentially the same as yeast bread. Because it relies on the natural yeast in your kitchen there are specific (very light flavor differences) that you would produce from everywhere else.
Using starter is actually way easier than people make it out to be. I almost always bake with starter, but if it doesn't appeal to you, don't worry about it. I would recommend trying some from a baking friend if you ever get the chance.

Yea, it looks like sourdough but it's not LOL. I just bought a loaf of sourdough from Safeway, same thing, they made regular bread and baked it to look like an artisan loaf. The one thing they did different is that they added vinegar, so technically it is sour. Tasted NASTY compared to real sourdough, I'm feeding it to my animals LOL. There are lots of quick easy ways to make a loaf of bread, some that look like the real thing, but if you have ever eaten real sourdough that takes a long time to make you'll immediately know the difference.

It was going well until the end when you had adds covering the instructions? Cover and pre heat oven for 30 mins at 450* makes no sense? Are you pre heating for 30 mins while covering the dough for another 30 mins? Proof - what’s this? Water bath - What’s this ? You need to slow down just a bit please.

Thanks for the feedback. I already removed those blocking in the end. Sorry, it should be, before putting the dough in the oven, cover for 30mins to proof. Pre-heat oven 10 to 15mins max. Water bath is simply a pan of hot water placed under what you are baking. See th-cam.com/video/2R_7zktFhFk/w-d-xo.html

@@jens2-minutekitchen679Preheating oven 10 to 15 minutes max will not get you anywhere near 450F. If you do this the oven will increase in temp all the way upwards during the baking cycle heading towards 450F if you bake it long enough, depending on your oven,
