And if it was procedurally generated, i wouldn't come across the occasional system that was discovered by another player 5 years ago. Don't try to make it less of a big deal just because you have some kind of complex going on. It is absolutely nothing like Minecraft, which is RANDOMLY GENERATED compared to PROCEDURALLY GENERATED.

    Those trails are actually where they scan the terrain under the water. Those trails are the places that have actually been mapped by satellites and Google earth. Everything else is just rendered in cause it's just water. Which is why a lot of islands are blacked out or not even on Google maps at all

      There are no blacked out islands, every place on Earth in on Google Maps, just some is at significantly lower resolution than others. Same goes for the seafloor as far as I am aware, the trails are just where higher resolution data is available.

    The ripples and lines are actually from passing naval vessels mapping as they go, certain routes are more common so the density of the ripples changes

    Depth markers? Those are underwater volcano chains.and the cracks are formed by tectonic plate movement. I believe the part you pointed out is a crunch zone versus where the plates seperating.

    Space engine is one of the most underrated programs', thankfully its at least known in the astronomy community .

    Fun fact: the lines that you can see on the water aren't showing the depth. If you watch it closer they are more detailed than most of the water. This is because thoes are sonar scans which means we know exactly how it looks while the more blurry ones are not technically discovered.

    The lines on Google Earth's ocean are the routs sonar/seafloor mapping ships have taken. That's why they have so much more detail

    The ocean looks like that because the high res "streaks" are the parts of the ocean floor that has actually been mapped with sonar.

    Those depth markers are tectonic plate boundaries and the one going around the planet is the midocean ridge

    The ocean is like that cuz to have the texture mapped u need a sonar, so the only places with good definition are the travel pathways

    The lines in the ocean is parts of the ocean that is mapped like when you look at the moon on a similar engine I think, there is a patch of extremely detailed land because that’s all they have mapped out

    The reason those are there is because that represents where google has data on the ocean. All the flat blue spots are places in the ocean that don’t have enough recorded data to actually be correctly represented on google maps
