Apparently in the future even all those cybernetic mods can't provide decent shooting accuracy. Everyone shoots like bugs bunny and the only way to land shots is from 30cm away after intense acrobatics.
Just like robotics in the movie The Creator.
Yeah you'd think they would have perfected targeting first😂😂😂!!!
Must have had stormtrooper training 😅
Unfortunately everyone killing each other within 1.5 seconds doesn't make for great cinema
@@IsThisHandleTaken I am not so sure. Quick and decisive fights resolutions are quite rare in cinema, but often they look awesome and evoke a lot of emotions. While 3 minutes of pointless shooting always looks boring and ridiculous, proved by countless examples.
He's been making an endless amount of short-form content. No idea why a studio doesn't throw more money at him to let him make this bigger. A series and/or movie. I'm sure it's his choice but we really need him to get back making bigger films.
who is "he" and what are "his links to the short content forms"?
@@activemotionpictures Neill Blomkamp, director of District 9, and a bunch of films that aren't very good (although admittedly D9 is incredible).
Chappie didn't do him any good. I like it, but I get why it bombed. I still would have loved his take on Alien though.. His documentary style with ultra realism. But.. that will never happen.
His tie-in to Anthem was the best thing about that game.
There is no actual story in this, it is more like a fancy tech demo. And cool CGI is not something lacking in today's cinema
All the negative comments aside, the live-action quality and cinematography are amazing. Great job!
This was released a year or two back as a 'CGI Short Film'.
The moment the fuel cell exploded and the guy woke up in the tunnel, would have been a really good start for a game. Only on arm, legs and many other cyberenhancements broken and still hostiles swarming the perimeter.
I would happily fund a Kickstarter for a full length Neill Blomkamp directed Cyberpunk 2077 movie!!! Better than anything Marvel is spewing out these days!
Damn right. Also lookin at Marvel and practically most of the film industry puts out these days, even a middle school film club can do better.
Yeah, the Corpo Wars. That would be cool!
Dear gawd no. Don't get it twisted. Neil Blomkamp is the taki waititi of dystopian films. Good visuals in a mess of a film. Marvel is dead.
I almost posted this exact same comment, but you beat me to it. It would be such a good fit.
Yeah cool, as long as he doesn't have those two "Die Antwoord" fuckwits in it.
If it's a game I wanna play it. If it's a movie, I wanna see more. MORE!
MOOOORE!!!
@@RedEye0815 mooooooooooooooorrrrrrreeeeeeee
@@RedEye0815 MOAR!
MOOOOOOORE!1!1!
Affirm. WTF is this? Movie or game?
In Blomkamp I trust with a Cyberpunk 2077 movie
Sharlto Copley belongs in 2077, he's already got the same vibe
0:30 this is a sound effect from cyberpunk 2077 (pretty sure its when you zoom in)
Omg shut up 😱😂🍿
I would trust Denis Villeneuve to make an actual masterpiece of CP2077 movie seeing what he had made with Blade Runner 2049.
Blomkamp always delivers...everything he does is top notch...I wish they would finish up the Oats Studios stuff though
Thought this had to be oats studio stuff I really wish they would finish dome of it
If anything he's going down a few levels with each movie. District 9 to Chappie?! The supernatural AI shit-show? He's a great idea man who found his own lane in the SF action. And yes Elysium is underrated. I'd say this generations T2. But he's all over the place in terms of quality.
@@4Everlast I think that has to deal with contracting or something
@@ausinasmith96 The quality of his work and the lack there of, has nothing to do with contracts. He's an idea man, but should leave the writing to someone else. Or find a writing buddy or two, there's no shame in that, you all have the same goal, make the best possible movie, not a barely watchable thing with great bits in it.
@@4Everlast Exactly, He is a great idea man and director but lacks in the depth for writing.
Blompkamp would make a kickass Halo and ALIEN film. His aesthetic is begging for it, man. Hopefully it'll happen one day!
Blomkamp is one of the few directors, who knows how to make sci-fi movies.
all of his movies look the same
@@kamilwolinski7739 matter of taste. I prefer blomkaps style all the way.
@@waschberserker i know, but i meant more the current directors. Not from all time. But i grew up on sci fi movie from the 80s, where Terminator that is more an action movie, had deeper meaning. Nowdays there are few good sci fi movies, or tv series. At least from my personal perpsective. Right now i wait for Dune 2.
sucks they didn't let him do his version of alien retconning the mess that was alien 3 and 4.
@@waschberserker i know what you mean but neils concept for a sequel to aliens keeping hicks and the little girl alive was a nice concept. the alien covent movies left much to be desired.
Why was district 9 so awesome and they can’t surpass it now?
Prolly a few million.
Story telling, world building and quality acting
Peter Jackson hidden hand.
Chappie was pretty good too
@@MarAntTheOG yuh, chappy had neat combat.
Loved Neill's directing since District 9. Definitely should be making more movies.
The sound was horrible, but the action and trailer itself as a concept was absolutely amazing and brilliant, It literally kept me guessing what was going to happen next, and i had no idea. Thats the kind of cinematic I like 😎
I like the slightly emaciated look of the modified soldiers.
I fear a future for the human race such as this. Neil has this warning for those who can not see. Beware the slave traders from whom one wont escape.
"livin' on reds, vitamin c and cocaine..." As the Dead put it.
Yes it is surreal
cool how they nailed that unreal engine 3 aesthetic
yeah sick new gears of war 1 trailer
Благодаря моей работе
I was starting to think i was the only person with functioning eyes
Nice! Saw the short from his Oats Studio's short film productions back when it released. And it's so very nice to finally get a full length feature.
If Civilization EVER gets to this state of decay, we better all pray an Asteroid puts us out of our misery, this looks like a very brutal and unforgiving place, DAMN! Would watch the movie but damn, that is some brutal shiz there! Maybe the main dude, helping the little girl, could fight for something other than himself but this feels like Mad Max - Visions of the Future, where it is Dog Eat Dog and the weak are simply prey, waiting to be eaten, damn!
I don't know where you live, but that is the reality for most of the world today. Unless you have a comfy life in a 1st world country.
@@expatxile you getting in a lot of futuristic shootouts?
Your only one EMP from a SHTF scenario. Once electricity is gone, no air conditioning, no heating, no refrigerators, no law, no nothing. Better be prepared, know how to run a weapon and have lots of ammo and backup food. People don't realize how easy this "house of cards - civilization" is to lose.
Hey friend in South America (Brazil) is worst than that today! Its not a verbal atack, only a little info about the world diff realities. BR.
I can’t understand why studio executives didn’t Blomkamp make Alien 5! It would have been mind blowing and money maker for the studio!
Ridley Scott flat out said it "wouldn't see the light of day". Shortly thereafter, Mr. Scott announced his next Alien movie. Ego, it's all ego.
Why does it look like I forgot to put my damn glasses on?
Great CG guys but what the hell is up with the compressed sound? Shame to let it down like that
For me parts of it looked kinda blurry.
I couldn't find a better version. It really sounds bad.
Fantastic short film. The faces could be a bit better, but everything was pure Blomkamp in style and action. Loved it.
I've seen better action in straight to video movies, it was pointless, stupid and makes the three stooges look well adjusted members of society.
What the hell is this? A movie? A game? A tech demo?
All of them have hard Stormtrooper aim.
With advances in AI and graphic engines video games will look like this by the end of the decade. Add virtual reality headsets to that and it could actually effect a major change in the way society functions, probably for the worse.
You… realise this is done in a game engine, right? Games can _already_ look like this.
@@maddogUK69 Well.. playable other than cut scenes? No. We shall see with Orion (next Cyberpunk) in Five years, maybe four, on next gen. They are changing their engine over at CDPR to reach such heights.
@@maddogUK69
It's a movie made in a game engine, not a game. If games could look this good then we would already have them. There's a difference in rendering a movie and rendering graphics in a video game.
@@SeeTheWholeTruth
Exactly. Games can have cut scenes that look this good with the help of a good VFX production team but the technology isn't there to make a playable video game that looks this realistic with rendered graphics constantly changing every second.
The first reply assumed that I didn't know this was made with the new unreal engine even though it's stated clearly in the headline.
It will look BETTER than this, especially human face textures, with the new AI face replacement tech Corridor Crew showcased.
They're only two filmmakers that I think could successfully make an adaptation of Akira, Blomkamp and Gareth Edwards. They both know the cyberpunk world better than any filmmakers these days and both have the teams to really develop very detailed lived in worlds.
why is the audio so bad? it sounds like it's piped through an acoustic modem
The sound of this trailer is horrible
Couldn't watch it with that sound
I have to lower the volume and put CC...
Thank f*ck somebody else said it, I thought there was something wrong with my phone.
It sounds like it's in a tin can 🤦🏼♂️
Exactly, they should improve the sound. Other than that it was a pretty good trailer but is it going to be a game or a movie?
@@peter-d I believe it's a game
I would have loved to have seen his Alien project to fruition. The concepts looked really interesting ans with Newt and Hick alive would have been cool.
After seeing COD MW3 campaign, I feel storyline/plot and character development are much more important than the visual effects. Almost all game visual effects are great nowadays, so it doesn't matter that much. That's why I still feel the classic COD MW trilogy (2007-2011) is much better than the new COD MW series.
Yep, we want games, not tech demos.
Who approved the audio???😅
Looks like a random tech demo for "untitled 3rd person action game"..... Good but ultimately uninspired. Blom should focus more on the story telling aspects and less on bullet points(pun intended)😂
This! When you 1st start watching and know you'll be watching this over and over.
I guess im the only one that didn't have bad audio..?
For me it was horrible on my phone, but fine on my computer weirdly
This is incredible. Technology is advancing so freaking fast.
It all looks amazing, expect the faces. What is happening with the faces?
Cybers? My only guess
Uncanny valley
We still have not perfected human faces without uncanny valley. Our eyes are just too good noticing the difference between an actual animal or CG. You can beat millions of years of evolution easily.
First STRANGLED cyborg in history!!!
He's a great director if he can get someone competent to write the script. If he gets a hold of the Wipeout games, I hope he can deliver a decent film!
Little Uncanny Valley in this early clip, but this looks like it will be great. Blomkamp does such a good job in this future dystopia segment.
To me, a lot of uncanny valley.. massive distraction.
how is it an early clip? I saw it years ago, there is nothing new added to the clip since then
@@vborovikov made a couple of years ago = early. I hadn't seen or heard of it yet. Hopefully it's good. Blomkamp does great stuff that's always entertaining.
I would love Neill to do an Alien movie. Cant believe that got shut down.
I don't know if it was my connection but the sound quality was like 56k dial up. Action was great, but that hissing/churning/incessant robotic hiss was just too much.
Blomkamp should be making movies of all Neil Stephenson books.
This is 10 years ahead of its time. Can't wait.
Neil, if you're listening please read The Windup Girl by Paolo Bagigalupi.
I feel like you're the only one that can do this story justice.
Bacigalupi is an amazing writer!
Good idea!
That is a seriously wild book, which I probably didnt appreciate enough on the first read.
Thanks for the reminder. 👍🏾
The guy is up and down on quality man, easy with the praise. Did you watch all of his movies?
Neill makes Virtual Reality SO REAL it's nearly indistinguishable.
lol no
i think maybe some meatheads out there ARE living in this kind of 'reality'. 😹@@hunterh3d
WE NEED MORE NEILL!!! so underrated.
1:49 I was expecting a submarine to launch from her third eye.
Its like watching computer games from the 90s
lots of cool tech does not break "let us shoot out in the open and ignore obvious cover" movie trope
ich bekomme Gänsehaut bei dem Trailer😊
Great graphics, but what's up with the sound??? Doesn't this video producer know that SOUND is 70% of what makes the video amazing? Guess they selectively forgot.
Remember Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within?
That was a pretty cool movie.
So this is what the Fast and Furious in Cyberpunk 2077 would look like.
He should take on the Terminator future war and give us these upgrade humans that can go to to toe with Terminators.
The lead character is the kind of character I love most, a rough and gruff SoB but he's still got his heart
heart of gold
The most generic character in all of fiction.
@@PersonalPariah cuz it works so well
@@PersonalPariahThe most generic character in fiction is the noble bad ass leader/hero who saves the day and beats all odds.
Neill Blomkamp movies always look cool
Eeverything was good besides how the one armed guy beat the guy with 2 arms and 1 one of those arms was the sweet one, just why...
In the future, there will be universal standard for robotic arms, and they will all be plug and play and apparently without any security measures.
well, if even apple is going usb...
USB 26 data / power connectors. Avery Hardol instantaneous mechanical coupling. Left and right arms interchangeable @@brmbkl
The guns, arm missile launcher, the shield all looks like a video game based on the movie Elysium.
That was just brilliant!
I agree but when they going to finished Half Life 3?
Awesome..like a live action COD multiplayer high tech.Well done Sir
Lol, my very first thought was "is this a movie feature based on Black Ops 3?"
would love to see Neill Blomkamp work on a game, sort of like how "Detroit Become Human" was
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Oats Studios blew my mind - More Blomkamp Please
You ever watch the series Love, Death and Robots? If not...stop whatever you are doing and watch it.
Neil Blomkamp is the only one who can do alien, predator, warhammer and halo projects justice.. none of these water down after school specials they call the mandelorian or halo shows.. certain things need to be hard r rated projects..
Thing is the cyberpunk trailer looked this good.
everything's so good.. what happened to the audio quality?
1:55 if nobody moved. Rocket would have missed everyone 😂 Damn Learner driver's / looks good still
Cant believe we could have gotten a halo film from this guy, and instead we got the halo tv show 😢
3:19 The PS3 game Haze says "I'm not dead yet".
3:24 The PS3 game Haze lasted longer than the actual PS3 game Haze.
Yep the sound is crap I fought it was just me lol thanks for the trailer though
Blomkamp: Dream architect
DAMN!!! I wasn't expectin this at all! Very epic!!
I guess even in cartoons they shoot the armor rather than what's not protected by the armor, like the feet!
The words “请系好安全带” made me laugh。
Every movie, shooting, mayhem and death.
Artistic endeavor has escaped creators in Hollywood. Death cult.
Looks awesome! Crappy audio
The guy in the hospital bed looks like Tim Poole in 10 year's time.
I really don't get what Blomkamp is doing with all this random short form stuff. All those Oats Studios shorts just dumped onto Netflix without any explanation, it took me about 5 shorts to realize that the whole thing was some kind of sizzle real and none of those stories had payoffs. And then this thing-what is this? A 9 minute "trailer"? For what? Is it a movie? A video game? Why is there never any context for this stuff?
MY EARSSSSS... what the heck with the sound??!
All I wanted was more Oats Studios. I thought it was more diverse than Love Death and Robots which is also really good.
"...more diverse than Love Death and Robots...". 😳😹
@babagalacticus lol yeah it's not what I wanted to say but I was like screw editing it's not important. I just wanted more Oats Studio from Bloomkamp.
Oof. Very uncanny valley. Don't think I'd be able to deal with this.
Awesome stuff. Thanks!
yo, whats with the audio?😮
Why is there a weird echo going on with the audio? Where was this stolen from?
Great trailer. The facial animations need more work though. MetaHuman has an amazing face rig
The sound is F.U.B.A.R
Blomkamp + Cyberpunk full movie please.
SHOOTY SHOOTY
BANG BANG BANG
PRETTY PRETTY BUT
I HAVE A HEADACHE
I wish something crazy happens in the near future and Neil Blomkamp does a Titan Fall movie
Still waiting on that District 9 sequel, Thanks.
2024 was a terrible year for good movies all the while sitting on incredible talent like Blomkamp.
4:03 The guy poured some coke on the leg of the other guy, but probably the animation has been forgotten or not completed.
Blomkamp is the guy that made
-District 9
-Chappie
- Elysium
Right?
Yeah, I here Puerto Rico is just like that. Thanks
District 10 when? I promise to go to the cinema 2x if it's gonna be at least as good as District 9 and 3x if it's gonna be as good as this short movie :3
unreal engine 5 looks SICK!
Good a game cutscenes,nothing else.
THANKS
3 years, I promise.
Their heads are too large for their bodies. Or they have really small necks. I don't know, it just looks slightly off.
