The acceleration is seriously impressive! That’s the beauty of the DCT and Launch Control/Traction Management; none of the power is wasted. The modern Euro cars have genuinely taken a huge step forward these days. Modified Japanese cars really can’t hold a candle to this unless they are basically fully built race cars. Very impressive especially considering this is still a car you can drive home after the event is finished!
@NippyMoto I cannot agree with you more. Funnily, many of the modern European performance cars have moved away from the DCT gearboxes and instead adopted the ZF8 speed torque converter box, which this also runs. The power it can handle, its size, and speed to which it shifts changed the game. It, paired with the Audi AWD system makes it very hard to beat off the line, even whilst being a full weight (1.8 tonne) family hauler.
@@mattbrown8732insane how fast off the line in the wet. I walked it off in 1st then second and wasnt really giving it much throttle till third as i started the rise on conrod. Great video, was good to show how treacherous it was, i missed getting any footage on the Saturday.
@Paul-yr1dr it really was AWD weather on Saturday. In saying that, the top 2 cars were both RWD cars running quality wet weather tyres. Honestly, the prize for first place was not worth pushing the car any harder in those conditions and risking putting it into a wall or rolling it over in the sand. Still had a blast though!
@ especially since u listed it for sale a week later lol! But yeah 100% not worth binning it. The top 2 guys did so well, one was on v8supercar wets but both would have had to nail their runs. It was just about learning the conditions, i did my fastest run in the wettest session so was looking forward to later runs as the rain eased but anyway it was what it was. Until u said after run 3 on sunday urs didnt count i was sitting there thinking wtf u were lucky to get run 3 in! I was sitting down the bottom watching the rain get closer and closer then dump 😔 Anyway next year!

@@mattbrown8732 Oh no you are selling the car?!?! I only just found this great channel haha! What do you plan to replace it with?
"Going to take it real easy", immediate floors it to 180 😂
@Spoonifyable see that's my problem. The voice in my head is the logical one, but my right foot has a mind of its own!
Bummer bro. That last run looked smooth and fast!
@drfuzz8773 when editing this footage, I estimated the third run at a mid-low 47 seconds.
