Nice channel you have here, mate.
12:00 this isn't Beechworth, we're not stopping to take photos and grab some baked goods ;) Kudos for keeping that in. I felt that drift in my feet and hands.

@Cars_Dogs_Cats thank you for viewing, and yes, not what I was expecting, considering how stable the tail end was during prior runs.
Thankfully, there was no damage and a lesson learnt on this track.

Well done, it takes big balls to drive that committed on that track! I have done sections of it in Khanacross a few times with my MX5 and that is challenging enough! Seemed to me like your choice of 2nd gear for the penultimate and final corner gained you some time too: it was almost bogging down (momentarily as it is a beast of car!) in 3rd.

@stevegreene9149 thank you mate! It is a wild track and definitely one of the more challenging non-road hillclimb tracks I've competed in but loved every aspect of it. I think you are right about the gear selection on the final corner, although the car has a stupid amount of torque, the lower gear definitely worked better with a little more throttle control. Hope to get back down there again one day with a newer set of tyres to see if I can dip into the 58's on that layout.

Matt as always an awesome effort and congratulations to be so fast especially to be so close to that EVO which I have seen live and is a very serious piece of kit. It is your driving which makes a huge difference. A few things to note...I was disappointed you didn't stay in it when you left the track doing your mowing :) and also proving that going sideways and then some fuel starvation is the quickest!!! Well done and a great video very professional. I also take it you won your class!!!

@doncraven1243 thankyou as always mate! Being that I was the only one in my class, it was a rather convincing class win this year.
Outside of the EVO, there was a number of other tin top cars that pushed me all weekend.
Looking forward to next year's event in SA!

Hey Matt great driving again. On your last two runs you inadvertently found a quicker line. The rear stepping out made you enter the corner later which better sets you up for the following corners. Your last run saw a more deliberate approach to that line which resulted in another quick time. The last 3 corners of the track looked especially tricky to get a consistent flow although you improved run on run. That track looks fun and I’ll have get there one day! Woz

@@woznaldo I think you are definitely right. Although it felt messier at the time, I was able to carry more speed for longer and transition between the tighter corners better. Looking back over footage really is invaluable when it comes to minding tenths.
It's an amazing track and one that everyone should look to do at some point.

Wow this a nice cool hidden away channel that I am glad to have found! Quick question why have you picked such a heavy chassis for the kind of motorsport events that you do? Would something a bit lighter not be more beneficial? Also speaking of heavy things what are your thoughts on a RS3 are they worth considering seriously as a dual duty vehicle for occasional track and hillclimb work?
    Cheers.

@NippyMoto nothing wrong at all with an RS3 for dual duties. They have all the power you need, with AWD to help you out of the tighter corners faster. Only challenge you face is the well known understeer they have inherited out of the factory, however with the right chassis upgrades, they can be incredibly agile.
Size and weight do work against this car from time to time, however with 790nm of torque at the wheels and a relatively fast throttle response, the extra weight does help put the power to pavement from lower speed corners and launches.
I can also pack a second set of wheels and tyres, a large tool bag, 80 litres of e85 and luggage for two people to travel long distances in comfort to each event.

After watching a few of your videos it’s evident that the RS4 is certainly capable despite its weight. The acceleration is ridiculous! Did you go to Challenge Bathurst this year? That would be a good vid.

@NippyMoto I didn't attend Challenge Bathurst this year, but here is the footage from the last one I did in 2022.
