I feel like Ulrika is exactly what Kislev needed to be more competitive, giving them access to an actually good Lore of Magic tied to an actually good Hybrid fighter.
They can also, you know, buff their lores of magic lol

Ulrika doesent ride a bear because she was a great horserider, lorewise bear riders are very rare, only really Boris, some patriarch's and a few dozen soldiers managed to tame and ride bears into battle. The amount of bears we see ingame is a little bit too much.
More unridden bears maybe but fewet ridden.
@@DIEGhostfish Kislev didn't use bears as war beasts, granted some aristokrats and priests did keep them as pets. But they didnt field them for battle. Except for the few who did ride them of course.
Like, Katarin for instace didn't ride a bear to battle, she either rode a horse or a sled, dragged by horses. And shes the Tzarina!

I like the change. It gives Kislev some fun flavor. Although I would not be opposed to Katarin having the option of a horse-drawn sled mount, and the light war sleds using horses instead of bears.
If Dwarfs were vulnerable to spells like Pit of Shade, Chorfs that don't have the magic resist will be even more vulnerable to it.
I almost said 'but Chorfs have counterspell' before remembering that isn't a mechanic in Total Warhammer.

I wish the Gotrek and Felix third omnibus wasn't impossible to find in paperback. Luckily I read just far enough to know Ulrika gets turned into a vampire, but it looks like she must return to the story as a vampire and that's pretty cool.
It got restocked 2 years ago, then went out in less than 3 days. I couldn't get one either. Rumours said the next reprint is next year, so we may get a chance to get the book soon.

Hey Turin! Love the content! I have a question. Seeing as chorfs struggle so much with large units that have few or single entities. Wouldn't it be useful to try Final transmutation and hellcannons? Haven't seen them used by chorfs yet and a sorceror smith of metal could potentially heal hellcanons as well for artillery duels?

Pretty cool that shes come in and has filled basically all the things Kislev needed from a lord, would love a bear mount for her as well to give her that AP. I'm still not sold on the legendary heroes instead of another legendary lord, but at least they're actually good

really like ulrika. just kinda wish that: 1. her horse would be without the crystals 2. she would be just for kislev (fits her the by far best IMHO) 3. would be a legendary lord but legendary hero seems alright too. by the way still waiting for giant snowleopards to be mounts for her and katrina (at least as chariots would be so dope)

Sometimes when I watch you commentaries and you zoom in to provide your viewers with some battle eye candy I catch myself using the mousewheel to zoom out to get a proper overview of the battle again. 😊
It's so dumb that fleeing dwarfs buff the laborers. They should give them a heavy debuff when routing, actually.
In lore, they'd probably attack the fleeing chaos dwarfs haha
got spoiled by ulrika's fate by Kinslayer, at the time, Aduible only had up to dragonslayer(book 4) and then it skipped all the way into the endtimes with Kinslayer and Slayer... ive read up til Orcslayer now
I don't regard Kinslayer as canon. Since it literally resets time back several years from post SoC to End times. And makes writing decisions I hate regarding Gotrek and Snorri.
Nice to see the Kislev buffs though I think it's about time the snow leopards got some magical attacks.
Surprised Subutai didn't take any shooting outside of grenades. Fireglaives would've made the chariots sweat doing what they did in the backline.

I thought the War Sleds would have had more value, they were just tearing through those Chaos Dwarf lines.
What do you think should be changed to make Kislev magic more competitive?
I never found any significant issue with it in the campaign, I dont play multiplayer so I wouldn't be a good judge of that. but I dont tend to see that many magics that can single-handedly win the game by casting one time.
Ulrika seems to be what in German we could call a, „Eierlegende Wollmilchsau“ in english, you could just say she seem to have no weaknesses except having low armor.
She's not OP, she's just a shadow caster with ok stats, no AP, isn't much of a threat to serious combatants
dude the amount of work you had to put to keep the game so close to the enemy felt like i was watching that scene from airplane where the guy is just swearing his ass off trying to keep the plane stable
I have never considered Kislev as an underdog faction. Now they are even better.

The Chorf player should have had two Bull Centaurs as a reactive defense against the sleds cause everyone knows any faction with a chariot like unit will take it against Dwarfs.

Just because their artillery is really good doesn't mean it can't be countered by specific types of artillery. Little Grom is ideal because its an SEM. The Chorf artillery wrecks units much better than it deals with SEMs. Crewed artillery does not do that well against Chorfs.
I want the rockets to be viable. Also I wanna see someone test Chevrons on the dreadquake for accuracy.

But anytime someone questions his full bear choices he just starts going on about how intense bears are
dont know exactly given I havent played them yet, but I think fireglaves might be better here than the chaos dwarf warriors. I like the wide build here, but anti large halberds + mid ranged shooting probably would have beaten the chariots or at least contested them better. either cut some chaos dwarf warriors or an ironsworn or 2.
idk, you'd have to cut 2 chorf warriors to get a fireglave in and that unit immediately becomes priority 1 for Pit.

Dude major spoilers that Ulrika is an undead vampire. I just finished dragon slayer, I was very surprised when I saw that she was in the game as an undead hero. I guess that ruined my dream of her and Felix living happily ever after, but then again, this is warhammer.

I see Kislev has to rely on the good old broken sleds still, needed some shotgun units.
Kislev needs access to additional lores of magic. Ice and tempest are mediocre. I'd take Ulrika just for lore of shadows, all her other crazy buffs and stats are just bonus.
Two are enough.
@@PG19871230 not when they suck. Nobody complains about Skaven magic, because both of their lores are good. There's a reason people are excited that Ulrika has the lore of shadows and it isn't because of how amazing Ice and Tempest are.

Astragoth small target 60 speed and 5k mass, more than a dragon, has more health and armor than warrior lords and charge bonus of cavalry. Needs all the nerfs he can get.
