Everyone’s trauma therapy should include every one of these SPOT ON videos by this blessed man. He really explains what every broken heart needs to hear.

Every Finding Freedom session speaks to the heart of me, my CPTSD, and what I need in order to be able to accept who I am. All of me. Out of the 37, I know for certain I have uttered or deeply believe 37. Shame has shaped my life and made me become people that I am not. “People” because I am a chameleon. I have a steamer trunkful of masks. I become whomever is called for in any situation. Shame will be pervasive until I no longer believe the lies. At 50, I struggle with showing and accepting who I am every day. I am existing, not living a life. I am thankful I have a patient trauma therapist who believes I can make it.

This is very inspiring! It helps me feel less bizarre about my shame outlook & fossilized masks from childhood bullying. Bless you!

Wow this is a good one! I remember disowning the sensitive/vulnerable part of myself as a young kid. When dad berated me for crying, I said to myself “this part of me is unacceptable. I need to stuff it down and away, get rid of it.” Whoa....

This was so helpful. And a little painful to see the damage in my life from believing these lies. But I am getting free. Thanks Tim and team! I will be rewatching this one occasionally.

00:01 to about 1:00: recovery is often battlefield in mind between truth and lies and part of recovery is identifying those lies and replacing them with truth
Excellent short summary of Complex Trauma after that

In believing all these things, you are being cruel to yourself. When you realize that, you realize that you are doing something wrong, that you need to change, and that the change must be founded on empathy for yourself, which you completely lacked. Finally you are critical of your self-criticism, which you thought was the only power you had. In fact, the truth is your power; it's on your side. That's why identifying the lies, as this video does, builds strength and confidence in you and helps you find your way out. There's no arguing with the truth, and there's no stronger supporter.

Thank you for saying that! I was just asking the Lord why I’m so cruel, not to others, but to myself, by not allowing myself to enjoy a life that comes so normal to a healthy person! Obviously now, I understand that I’ve believed I don’t deserve it!😮

14:00 rather have connection than authenticity
24:20 need to be needed, find people with lots of problems and create a dependence on me to prove I have value
30:30 triggers and lies that come from them
    32:00 action

I mean every single one of these is actually true. We all want to believe they are not, but the sad reality is that these 37 "lies" are all the reality of the world we live in.

Whatever happened to honour your mother and father or I suppose you would have an answer to God to not do that. Honouring your parents can also bring truth.
Some people may think that's gaslighting but I say good. Its good to feel stirred up and wonder what's real.

The reason PR is a multi billion dollar industry is because managing what people think about you not only works; it’s how the entire economy operates. Why do millions of people poison themselves with Coca Cola? Because Coca Cola has successfully deployed billion dollar PR campaigns to make people like Coke. And it works.

While I agree with nearly all of Tim’s points, let’s face it - being authentic means telling people your true beliefs and opinions. And all that will happen is you will be fired from your job and shunned by society. Try telling your woke liberal boss that you don’t support wokeness. Try telling your democrat boss that you’re a republican. Try expressing support for any politically incorrect issue. And let’s see how all that authenticity works out for you.
I agree that in an intimate relationship it’s important to be authentic. But our society is set up in a way that you need to be fake to survive. The only except is if you have “fuck you” money and don’t need a boss to survive.

@tomk2926 Not long ago, public conversational etiquette avoided sensitive topics like religion, politics, personal finance and relationship complaints--because it wasn't worth the trouble so everyone agreed to these rules like a Geneva Convention of everyday conduct. We need this back more than ever.

Its sad that mental health professionals like to break up families by putting all the blame on parents. Parents are villians in all your videos.
