  • NEW UPDATE - CHECK OUT PART 2 GOES IN DETAIL FOR ALTERNATIVE BEARD OPTIONS :)
    • DOLLAR STORE SOCK GNOM...
ALSO - if love gnomes like I do...check out the gnome wreath option:
    • Gnome wreath (shopping...
Simple gnomes made with socks and rice. SUPPLY LIST BELOW 😊 Most items bought a dollar tree. To make his nose rosy put some blush on it.
UPDATED: If your worried about bugs in the rice, wheat or beans, throw the grains in the freezer for up to 30 days (30 to 60 days is ideal) and any bugs or bug eggs are supposed to be killed by the cold. We use a similar idea to store grains for long term storage and were told this was the best way to keep flour, rice and other items from getting those pesky flour beetles in them.
I have investigated the pros and cons in using food items to weight down crafts - please read the above concerning rice filling. You can switch to kitty litter which before anyone comments its not safe around pregnancy - I have looked into that also. It is the dirty used kitty litter that is unsafe. It is cautioned not to change the litter...clean litter in a sock does not contain the toxins described in the detailed caution about pregnancy and litter.
Thank you for enjoying my first tutorial...will share another one soon :)
    SUPPLY LIST
    1 white adults tube sock
2 cute adult fuzzy socks prefer 2 different designs

    White felt
Fun fur yarn or faux fur or looped ribbon (for beard)
    Ribbon and string
Any embellishments you wish to add

Perfect first video! You had all your supplies available, your speed was perfectly paced, you even saved time by providing the finished beard. The angle of the camera was perfect for your viewers to see everything clearly. The Gnome is an adorable project that can be done by most.
I can't praise you enough for your first video. I have been watching others that were too slow paced, they didn't have their supplies available & had the leave their work spot to get things. I look forward to watching your video to come! Well done AAAAA Plus!

I thought this was so cute, just had to make some. So earlier today I stopped at the dollar tree and got my yarn at Hobby Lobby (used my coupon). I just finished making one now so now I'm going to do the opposite socks with the second one. I hung a tiny strand of bells on my little guys hat - I didn't have any buttons. Thanks for the idea. These will make a great gift for my neighbors with Christmas cookies! :)

    UPDATE Nov 26, 2018
THANK YOU, for all the amazing comments! I do read all the comments & respond when I can. I also take the criticism as a means to improve my channel. Some don't like the music in the background...don't worry I won't do that again...remember this is my FIRST video ...I like to work with the TV or radio on. Length of videos are getting shorter, I bought a mic to help you hear me better...and voice over seems to be the way to go...I can delete my unnecessary babble. Also if your against using rice or a food source for stuffing...you don't have to...there are alternative choices.
I don't make money or have sponsors here. I simply enjoy sharing and communicating with those who enjoy crafting. (all negative, or rude comments are deleted & blocked).
Happy Holidays to all my subscribers xoxo
If you can't find the same yarn...you can use any fuzzy yarn, faux fur, looped ribbon, felting yarn...or even mop refills cut up.
To finish him off grab your favour blush and blush up his nose ♥️
Hope you enjoyed my FIRST video salut!

These are truly adorable. Thank you for taking the time to show how you make them. I have a suggestion for you on the Styrofoam cone bottom. Have you tried using a melon ball tool? I've used a melon baller tool on other Styrofoam projects and it works great to hollow out areas. It both cuts and scoops the Styrofoam at the same time. I also find it makes less mess. Hope that works for you!

Very nice video well done...I agree with the price of faux fur...it was over $25.00 a yard on sale!!!!...on the other side of the store they had smaller pieces...enough fur to make 4-5 gnomes for $3 and change...still nice quality...Note I learned you need to cut this faux fur with a razor...it does a lovely job and doesn't destroy the fur ends. I like the way you put raffia on the waist...I have made a few...but put a pipe cleaner (chenille stem) into the sock so I could bend the end into a shape and stuck a big red bell on the end...these are really cute thanks for sharing.

Where did you get the white elastic bands like that.. you make the cutest gnomes of all of them.the beards made with the yarn is the best.. use a funnel made of heavy paper for the rice. I discovered that making rice hot packs .
