So the latest proper gameplay engine development for a fifa on ps2 was for fifa 07. All the other fifas that came out for ps2 later were build on this last development stage
I think it’s like a reskin of an older game so probably older PS3 era assets that can run on the PS2 the fact they made this for the PS2 is still quite amazing

It strange . I played fifa series but when I got to play pes.. I can no longer digest fifa gameplay. I'm not degrading EA bcz fifa is a blessing for kids and youth but after playing pes I found that football gameplay needs to be realistic with hardly 1 to 2 goals per match...
