    Sad, I can see how emotional she was in answering that she didn't have contact with her daughter and grandchild anymore. She was trying very hard not to let it show but it was clear.

      Yeah, the ending was hard to watch. The mother clearly took a risk to co-sign and do her best to help her daughter and grandchild, but now it's become the straw that broke the camel's back. Silly daughter, no one will ever love you like your mother will, and you just threw it all away over a car.

    What a disappointment to spend 18 years of blood, sweat and tears raising a kid and they turn out as silly as the defendant. I’m not cosigning for anyone. The plaintiff is still on the hook for $5,000.

      @@melissam7067 I know someone did that for their daughter when she was much younger and in college. Everything was more important than paying that note. They finally got their name refinanced off the vehicle. Then came the fight to push her out of college and graduating was the last thing she cared about doing. She kept spending her money on her for college hoping she would graduate when others would tell her they would not do it if they were her. Her response, you are not me and I know the potential in her even if she does not see it. Fast forward 10 years later she is Mechancial Engineer/Mathematician and just surprised her Mom with an early Mom's day gift. 2022 Mercedes Benz Suv with 2 miles on it. She makes a little under $200k and 32 years old. So hopefully that young lady will eventually grow up too as she seems real bratty just like the person's daughter used to be.

      That is not always the case you can do everything right as a parent and a child can rebel and chose to go their own way!! Especially when they are young and think they know all the answers!! It's not until they have been on their own and have experienced hardships and see that they have screwed up that they finally start to turn around!!
      It's called free agency and kids are more rebellious now then they ever have been!!!
      It can also go the other way as well the parent is bad and the kid is great!!

      I think it’s called “voluntary repossession”. If you can’t make the payments anymore you can surrender it back to the lender. It still hurts your credit but not as bad. In this case the plaintiff caught the payments up and gave the car back to the lender.

      You show a gross misunderstanding of how debt works leading me to conclude you've likely gotten burned mishandling debt in the past and now its everyone's fault but yours. Typical. There is such a thing as predatory lending but there are also extremely practical reasons to take out loans on big ticket items. You're no different than the defendant.
