- Got the 21:4x! Although I had to wait on bowser at the end due to taking damage in water, this is still a very good run and a great leap for pushing this category further. A 21:3x in this category is possible and would likely be the equivalent of a mid 21:1x in SMB2J warpless FDS, so I may return to this category and push it there in the future! :)

There are people that cheat at video games, then there are people who crack games in order to create cheats for those games... then there are people who program a tas bot to look for every possible shortcut or time save in a game not to cheat in anyway but so they can lower their pb by 1 second.

Can I ask a n00b question, why are you not minimising flagpole time in this run by going for the bottom? Is flag time deducted from the splits? I thought it was RTA though
No matter where you hit the flag, you have to wait for it to slide to the bottom. Mario accelerates faster facing backwards, which he does when hitting the top. If you’re refering to flagpole glitch, its not necessary for the wr.

I have an idea for smb1. After you do the wrong warp, clip into the ground and you should be able to reach the warp zone faster
The setup to do that would take too long
