Years before I was even old enough to vote, I had seen footage of the civil rights movement, the marches, sit-ins, Freedom Rides, Emmett Till, Medgar Evers, MLK, etc. HOW with any oz of conscience, or any sense of pride can I NOT vote?

It's a term that encompasses any of the people that inhabit South America( except Brazilians) that speak the language that was introduced by the Spaniards. Some of them can be natives, whites, blacks, even Asians or a mix of two or more of these races. The stereotypical latino/latina is usually mestizo or castico( 1/2 or 1/4 native/European mix). Whatever his true ethnicity ACP didn't look black. I don't understand why this lie is kept alive by so many of my fellow AA's! Are we so desperate for role models that we need to claim non black people to fill those roles? ACP even admitted late in life that he was a fraud, but this seems to have escaped the radar of most of my felllow AA's . If it's done deliberately or because of ignorance I don't know.
