I had seen Mr.Powell often as a child and young man I was introduced to him through my Grandmother Mrs.Barbara.R.Patterson who was not just a friend of Mr.Powell and his wife Mrs.Powell”Hazel Scott” but a STAUNCH SUPPORTER. My Mother use to tell me when she my Uncle and Aunt were made to go out and demonstrate in HARLEM with Mr. Powell against businesses and the MTA who opposed our people through racist practices. “MR. ADAM CLAYTON POWELL WAS ONE OF THE GREATEST BLACK LEADERS OF OUR TIME, HE AND HIS WORK SHOULD NEVER BE FORGOTTEN”.

I’m 49 years old and I have voted 🗳 in every election, midterm & special election since 1988. Years before I was even old enough to vote, I had seen footage of the civil rights movement, the marches, sit-ins, Freedom Rides, Emmett Till, Medgar Evers, MLK, etc. HOW with any oz of conscience, or any sense of pride can I NOT vote?

@@the2ndcoming135 Of the variety with mostly or exclusively European ancestry. Hispanic isn't a race. It's a term that encompasses any of the people that inhabit South America( except Brazilians) that speak the language that was introduced by the Spaniards. Some of them can be natives, whites, blacks, even Asians or a mix of two or more of these races. The stereotypical latino/latina is usually mestizo or castico( 1/2 or 1/4 native/European mix). Whatever his true ethnicity ACP didn't look black. I don't understand why this lie is kept alive by so many of my fellow AA's! Are we so desperate for role models that we need to claim non black people to fill those roles? ACP even admitted late in life that he was a fraud, but this seems to have escaped the radar of most of my felllow AA's . If it's done deliberately or because of ignorance I don't know. Anyway, there are plenty of genuine black people to look up to. Even some who have made much greater contributions to society than this imposter.

Adam Clayton Powell jr, a name constantly in jet, sepia, ebony , tan magazines. I read this name in the local black newspapers and the big national news papers like the the New York post , publications like time, Newsweek, life, look and many more. A name now almost lost to history and time.

Yes,, how correct his speech is , wow he said we blacks was considered 3rd class citizens,, Now Adam Clayton Powell would be in absolute shock to know we Black people are considered 5th class now, Chains haven’t been broken, and we are not EARNING a damn dime, half of us don’t have jobs. And the rest of us are incarcerated,, But the creator of the universe, Has blessed us with love in our HEARTS, and our spirituality is very real and strong, wow all these years later and nothing has changed, I think things are worst for Black people..

If you want to know who came to NYC penniless, and preached the message of the Lord after crossing the Atlantic on a cargo ship, @ 70 years old, having had two almost fatal heart attacks, and considered America his fatherland, it may surprise everybody here, that he was the tawny- golden complexioned saint from Calcutta named Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. His books were spoken and transcribed, do in that sense he was an orator, but in addition he gave thousands of hours of interviews, public lectures, and daily morning walk conversations that are recorded. His spirit & his message are consistent with the Reverend Powell, and with every other personal God proponent, and his teachings are universally attractive for both simple common citizens, and also well-educated philosophers, educators, clergy, or professional persons.
I took the question literally & seriously, so that anyone could benefit by this introduction.

There are/have never been "prophets." This sounds like an accomplished politician...oh, that's what it is!
If we listen, it is just words, nothing of substance...just faith, hope and prayer! No jobs, food, businesses, no end to poverty, no human rights...!
This is an concrete affirmation of the timeline of brainwashing by the charismatic among us.
Each generation has it's own "leaders" pushing rhetoric and...religion, in the face of the brutality, poverty, the disenfranchisement of FUTURE generations.
