Hopefully Subaru will have a recall on the fusebox label under the dashboard soon. The label and fuses don't match up if the sticker says D9 and the box says S9. Not sure if you noticed this yet, but it's on the forums no matter the trim.
That’s great insight, I had no clue that was an ongoing issue! I’ve never needed to do any fuse work on my own (the heated seat fuse was my suggestion to check for the heated seat problem but was then confirmed during the investigation under warranty). And when my friend and I installed the light bar we didn’t need to mess with them either. Thanks for sharing!
I have a 24 outback onyx. Screen is great. I can see it fine no issues. No lag that I noticed. Works great for me. I use apple car play 100% of the time and has worked for me. I can only speak for myself.
Yeah, I would agree! They seem to get slightly slightly better each year. But Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is so much better than the factory software.
Rented a premiumand drove it from Sacramento to Klamath Falls Oregon. Highest pass was 5193. Plenty of power for droving and passing. Seats were comfortable. 6 speaker stereo was more than adequate for a stock radio. 11.3 inch screen had a little lag but was better than other cars I have rented. Steering was almost overresponsive with about a 1/4 inch of play. AC worked great. Didnt try the heated seats. One complaint is that the lowbeam led headlights go out and basically stop like they hit a black wall. They are out gar enough just wierd as my other vehicles they slowly fade out. The highbeams did fade out like normal.
Love this foresters wish I can convince my hubby to get me one ! Speaking of the heated seat I also have a miata and truly you can get a second degree burn literally speaking. Tom my husband has told me once that heated seat aren’t a good friend of the ballsini and can lead to infertility! So maybe is it fair to say that the heated seat in the foresters are safe for men!
The heated seats on my 21 Forester Touring get HOT on high. I often only use the low setting. We have leather. Could be the difference in leather/cloth? I don't know. Also, the heated steering wheel gets really hot, too.
The forester subreddit tends to believe that the driver and passenger heated seat function is broken and not working. If you compare the back seat one to the front seat it is a night and day difference
The tinted glass does look good on your Forester. While I would like to have tinted glass installed in my new Forester too, I live in a no tint state. Although the law is not consistently enforced, I did get a ticket for having it a few years ago.
Thanks, I really appreciate you deciding to keep watching them!! Ours is a Premium and it has the optional package to include blind spot and rear cross traffic alert. 🙂
Hey, AA! Thanks again for another detailed video! Not sure I can get over the exterior styling change on this model. Looks too much like a Ford ... bleh! 😝 Off topic here... noticed that extra light in the Outback grill. Do you have a video on adding that to your Outback? I have a '23 all black and looking to spice it up a little and like the look of what you have there. Thanks again for sharing and congrats on the new Forester!
My pleasure, I’m glad you enjoyed it! Yeah, I do have an install video from back around December! Also the light bar brand, Novsight is an affiliate of my channel so there’s a 20% discount code if you decide to go that route. Best of luck! And thank you, it’s been nice to know the old Cruze has now been replaced by a much better and more safe vehicle.
35% 3M and I think it was the fancier ‘color stable’ version. I’ve never kept a vehicle longer than almost 3 years, but in that time all our cars have had 0 issues or concerns with that specific tint! 🙂
Thanks for the review. I have one on order and thinking of getting front windows tinted and maybe the sunroof since it is so large an opening. Was wondering about people’s thoughts on tinting the sunroof?
I have a Premium on order. So excited! I'm wondering if you had your moon roof tinted and if so how much? Thanks for doing these videos as they have been very helpful.
I just picked up my 2025 Forester Touring. Love the car but I had one huge disappointment. The top of the line Touring model has the Home Link missing. All other levels have this important function available except the Touring. They don't tell you this in any of the manuals, so you don't know until you bring the car home and try to program the garage door opener. Even the dealer was not aware of this. Subarus basic response was,Too bad but the Touring just doesn't have it. Shame on Subaru!
@@AutomotiveAnonymous208 the subreddit for the forester seems to believe that the driver and passenger heated seat function is broken across all models
Yup. My BRZ has "heated seats" with two levels, and they are not impressive. (Mine is a '17). The compact overall length is really a plus, given the interior volume.
I’m sorry to hear that! I don’t recall if I’ve ever turned on the heated seats on a BRZ/86 when driving one since those have always been summer review videos.
I’m sorry I’m not allowed to share the exact deal that the dealership gave to me. What I can say is definitely negotiate it! Just like vehicles there’s an invoice price (what the dealer pays) and a MSRP (what it’s suggested market value is for the customer). Best of luck!
I get that! I was hesitant about it at first too, but after seeing them in person and owning one it’s also really grown on me. But the last gen after the refresh also looks so good!
It doesn’t seem to be any more noise than the Outback, but I haven’t taken it 80mph for an extended time and in various wind conditions yet to confirm this. I’ll do that soon with a day trip video!!
Yeah, lol. I’m not someone who chooses to goes into long term debt, especially for a vehicle but here’s the summary of the financially focused video I posted a few weeks ago. We traded in the paid off Cruze and put nothing down. So between the options and 10 year warranty we signed up for a 36 month loan with 4.99% (because those were the lowest figures for both that are offered through Subaru) it ultimately would have been a little over $900 a month if we were to ride it out. I knew we would pay the Forester off in the next couple months, I just didn’t want to pay it off at the time of signing. But after selling my paid off 23 Miata it just made sense to directly transition those funds into the Subaru. Anyone reading this: please do not go into legitimate crazy debt for a vehicle, it’s not worth it! 🤪
@@AutomotiveAnonymous208 I’m a 2 time forester owner and honestly the touring trim fits my bill but at that price and I completely understand not having a car note bc I’ve been without one for 8 months which is great there’s no way I’ll pay that for a forester or any other Subaru in today times thanks for the honest of the review but I’ll guess ill enjoy your new Subaru from ur videos
@@johnfranktullo3463 I just bought a 24 outback onyx and I paid cash. I got my title mailed to me about a week later. Nice to have a car that will last me 10 years I won't have to think about a payment.
Our garage is 26X30, so my double cab, long bed Tacoma TRD has plenty of room… well after I get our mahogany exterior doors sanded and stained and hung, we’ll have plenty of room
Wow thanks for the warning to not buy this. Glad I saw this before buying. Had to pay cancelation fee but got my order canceled in nick of time. Thanks for the trust worth issue.

So the BIG question is how is the giant screen? Does it lag and is it easy to see on a sunny day?

Currently negotiating price with a dealer to order a Sport.

A shame to hear about the lackluster heated seats. The ones in my ‘O7 Outback are incredible. One of my favorite features, especially in MT winters

Thanks! I think it looks way better than factory. What state is that?? I’m sorry to hear that. 🤦♂️
I live in New Jersey. I believe while window tint is legal in NY State, it’s not in NYC .
Another great video, thanks. What trime level is your Forester? Thanks

great review, the best warranty is regular maintenance :)
Thanks! And that’s a great statement, thanks for sharing!
The Forester seems so big now. Is it even considered a compact SUV?
It's only .5 inch longer and no wider than last year's model. Styling makes it look bigger.

Pity about the heated seats. My previous '14 and '17 Forester XT as well as current '21 Outback can roast one on high or keep comfortably warm on low.
Yeah, it’s pretty disappointing lol. I bet those Forester XTs were quite fun! 🤩
Thanks for the review. I have one on order and thinking of getting front windows tinted and maybe the sunroof since it is so large an opening. Was wondering about people’s thoughts on tinting the sunroof?
I 100% recommend it! It’s been much nicer driving it since the tint has been put on.
I wish my sunroof was tinted. I don't slide the cover open often because it is just too bright in the car then.

That’s awesome! Yup! 35% and it’s made a noticeable difference. 🙂
What tint percentages did you get?
35% on the front and the sunroof. Thanks for watching!
Why has Subaru not put the integrated turn signal indicators on this forester Premium but put them on the premium Crosstrek
That’s a good question!

That is definitely an odd omission.
I know that was an add on with ours, but I also would assume the Touring should come standard with it.
The heated seats in my mom's 2002 Legacy get hot enough that you can literally cook a meal on the seats. LOL.
Nice haha. Im glad too hear they can toast some buns!

How quiet it’s relative to your Outback?
Good question -the 2025 is supposed to be quieter than the 2024. It is a new model.

It would be a lot better if they would make it in a hybrid version!
Hopefully the hybrid is much better than the 2nd gen Crosstrek hybrid! We need more engine options on this lol.
