This is one of my favorites from the ladies among many. This was written by a 15 year old Dany when she was feeling homesick towards the end of their 6 weeks stint at Berklees in summer of 2015. Dany missed her friends from home to point where she was in tears during one of the band's blogs, and she (and her sisters) spent their school days in classrooms isolated from each other. Dany had a new song to submit the following day as part of homework. And she had nothing ready; not even in the mood to create anything. Totally down but not out Dany composed When I'm Alone through that night. Hence the reason this song is so special to her.
Pau might be the main song writer but this and Crimson Queen are 2 of my favourite songs from them
As far as I know, this is the only The Warning song with no backing vocals/harmonies from Pau or Ale. Technically, Breathe doesn't have any either, but it's really a Pau solo piece. You'll definitely want to watch the Teatro Metropolitan version as well as the 2017 Tedx performance. Dany's solo acoustic performances of When I'm Alone from the Fall 2023 Mexico shows are great, but there's only fan cams (for now anyway).
This song and Survive are the only songs still played in concerts. And with the new album released in June they haven’t been played in any sets thus far. Hopefully they expand the set list before North American tour. There are so many great recordings of this song. For the last year she just does it by herself on her Acoustasonic

this is probably gonna sound like a broken record, but, like all of their songs, this _really_ pops live (not asking for a reaction ; just some FYI for you). the Teatro Metro is pretty awesome , and there are a few acoustic recordings that are really nice as well.

also FYI, when i type "the warning reaction" or even just "the warning" , and sort by "upload date", this vid isn't showing up (it happens sometimes, especially with smaller channels -- _particularly_ if they're not monetized , which i don't know if you are or not .... just trying to brainstorm). i don't know why this happens , but if the view count ends up being low, that's probably why.

Do the TedEx shows . . 2016 and 2017 . . . Play each in their entirety . . Well worth a look . . This song is one of the ones in those shows . . .
I prefer the current way they play this (this is one of my favorites, btw). The live at teatro is a good look at how they play it now.
In the acoustic version Dany did at Auditorio Pabellón she chose to go higher on the last "My sanity is not going to last" and DAMN, I wish she did that in every single presentation going forward because it is fantastic.
