My favorite FT plane by far!!! I am a huge fan of the golden era of travel with the China Clipper and the Boeing B314 and my favorite is the Grumman Albatros (although a military/SAR aircraft). I especial liked you sharing your love of flight with your boys. The time invested with our children is1000x more valuable than any other moments in life.
I've never flown rc planes or quads, I have 4 rc cars in storage, yet I love your videos, one for the way you are always genuinely respectful to everyone and the pure fun you have from the hobby. Thank you guys!
That's awesome and looks fun. The Conwing l-16 Sea Plane was always my favorite thing about that show. Can't explain it but just something about that plane and it's design and it's surf & turf capabilities, I seem to recall Blue could land it on land or sea, was the coolest thing to me at the time.
Just watched this one and the build vid for the first time. I have watched 100's of your more current vids...now watching some old ones. I have to say, this was some of the BEST videography you have done...when you got the boat moving and were filming the plane from the moving boat....absolutely beautiful!!!!! Greg
I hadn't realized that was the plane from Tale Spin. I was so drawn to your Sea Duck when I first seen it on your site. I couldn't figure out why I liked it so much, now I know, that was my favorite show as a child.
I was finally curious and entered "could the Sea Duck really fly and float" into a search engine. I found your web site and then this video, and I think you've settled this query for good!
I love Balu because he's answered basically all my comments on flight test and he definitely deserves a reconnection on this show!! Good job, Andrews rc
I dont get it, why would you dislike this? Just leave the video. These guys are nothing but good hearted and fun individuals. Cheers testflite, im watching all your videos rn!
just maidened my FT Sea Duck, off the water, no winds, flat as can be but can't remember i've ever been this nervous. 2 circuits and had to land it. all went wel but so nervous forgot to put the video cam on, and put my glasses on my face... must be because of the possible trouble recovering the Sea Duck when flying it goes pearshaped. need lots more expo that's for sure but CG was perfect out of the box. thanks FT!
Love Flitetest. Every episode is so entertaining. Been watching for years now but have yet to get into a plane (I have 2 DJI drones). I really should do it this year.
The basic kit is $46 bucks!? That's it? Awesome I truly hope you sell a million of these. Great kit and the build video is worth the watch. Keep up the great work Flight Test!
Love all the videos, but this build is the one that has me pulling the trigger to finally get into this hobby! Loved tailspin growing up, contributed to me becoming a pilot myself.
@@ulaB I'm telling you, TaleSpin is never the same without Don Karnage. That said, my 2 favorite episodes are In Search of Ancient Blunders and Mach One for the Gipper. Karnage is in both. Wildcat is in both. And guess who's not in either.
Loved this episode! It is awesome to see how much fun they all have, and it makes me want to get out there. I think that is the goal of this channel, and if so mission accomplished. Keep the quality content coming!
The Sea Duck is the entire reason I got into airplanes as a kid, seeing a model of it flying was like watching a childhood dream come true. Now I need to find a way to justify a kit in my budget, because I have to have this.
J&J- I've thought about doing a white foam Johnny Quest jet for years now, just been too busy, plus all my stuff is for fuel flying.. Electrics look like the answer to many problems with keeping fields. Anyway, after seeing this video, I thought "Why not?" So I humbly suggest YOU guys do it- you're already set up for it and the ideas about other cartoon airplanes really kind of strikes a chord. I'm 58, so I was watching the original JQ cartoons and Dr. Quest's jet in that era was very sleek and Concord-ish. I've not seen the new one so I can't really comment on it.. You guys are doing a great job with the Flite Test videos, I always enjoy them. Fly Safe- Gus
thanks for bringing back that childhood memory of that cartoon, and the other afternoon cartoons that Josh mentioned. smiles the whole vid. great build also. you guys are a great family there! if i get the money to frivolously spend, am so gettin the kit. always wanted to get flyin, have a partially built quad lol but times being as they are. til then am vicariously livin through you gents
I absolutely love the design of this plane. It's beautiful. And it seems to fly great. I want one badly. Good job guys. Keep it up. Looking forward to the next awesome designs.
Thanks Keith! Our Video guy(Dave Knop) Always does such a great job and in this particular episode got some great shots flying next to the boat. Blessed to have him on board! Ill let him know you enjoyed it! :) Blessings, S.O.
love the sea duck bringing back great childhood memories.. but now you guys must build an iron vulture with working/ opening mouth releasing little micro quads or planes, if anyone can make it fly its flitetest.
I completely agree. The big TaleSpin selling point for me was definitely Don Karnage. I've actually featured him in twelve separate works of fanfiction.
I really want a Guinea Pig, so I had the idea to make one into a seaplane, since I have a lot of water near where I live. Then I thought, "Why not make it a replica of the SeaDuck, while I"m at it?" Then before I even buy foam-board, this happens. Excellent!

I'm ordering my Sea Duck on Thursday, I've already watched the build video 5 times in anticipation along with all the other videos.
Your ready friend!

Tail Spin one of the best cartoons on the Telly........now a recreation of the Sea Duck.....Excellent and a kit....you guys ROCK !!!
Got me right in the feels with the Tale Spin.
I was finally curious and entered "could the Sea Duck really fly and float" into a search engine. I found your web site and then this video, and I think you've settled this query for good!
Gotta love the little montages throughout.
I love Balu because he's answered basically all my comments on flight test and he definitely deserves a reconnection on this show!!
Good job, Andrews rc
Thanks Andrew. :)
Least I could do mate
Andrews, he doesn’t comment on my comments, In fact I just discovered this channel, but I totally agree with you

oh god please don't let disney the lord of evil strike flite test down with a copyright claim, they've taken stuff down with LESS footage
Tale Spin was a cartoon in a class of its own. I can't believe you guys did this build. Love it!
You claim TaleSpin was in a class of its own. Well, would you ever go without pants in Cape Suzette or St. Canard? Let's say you were a red wolf.
Wow, just WOW!! You guys are awesome:D This plane brings back so many memories of that cartoon series when I was 14 or 15. Well done!!
THAT WAS BEAUTIFUL!!
I hope I had known this channel sooner, you guys make some of my childhood dreams a reality.
I dont get it, why would you dislike this? Just leave the video. These guys are nothing but good hearted and fun individuals. Cheers testflite, im watching all your videos rn!

Josh Scott,
good to see you again! You're an essential part of the show!!!
this video was enough to make me subscribe to this channel, talespin is the reason why I love rc planes
Thanks so much guys.
I'm on simulator for the rainy or too windy days. Thank you, yes, you, who makes simulator models so realistic. Cheers.
Josh Scott is back! Yay!
I always get a chuckle from his dry humour.

Amazing footage of an amazing little flying boat. Excellent job guys
Awesome build! that really brings memories watching that plane. Now you just need some air pirates and perhaps a thembrian bomber that drops bathtubs.
Love Flitetest. Every episode is so entertaining. Been watching for years now but have yet to get into a plane (I have 2 DJI drones). I really should do it this year.
Plane>drone
i purchased two of these sea duck kits from you guys. I love this plane!
The basic kit is $46 bucks!? That's it? Awesome I truly hope you sell a million of these. Great kit and the build video is worth the watch.
Keep up the great work Flight Test!
So... now we need Darkwing Duck's Thunderquack and the Ranger Plane from Chip and Dale: Rescue Rangers.
I second the Rangers plane!
Kevin Dobson surely an aeroplane-balloon hybrid with flapping wings wouldn't be TOO hard!
+Fragtastic They made a cinder block and a working toaster fly. Surely they could do the Ranger Plane.
Kevin Dobson I really need to check the archive then...
+Fragtastic The wings part would actually be the hardest part for propulsion. Clear props to give actual thrust and the wings can just move for looks.
I love how much it looks like the duck from talespin! Looks really nice
What doesn't look nice, though, is Baloo, Louie, and Kit.
I can't wait to fly this one! Good job guys!
Love all the videos, but this build is the one that has me pulling the trigger to finally get into this hobby! Loved tailspin growing up, contributed to me becoming a pilot myself.
Don?... I hope it's not you, Don Karnage, is it? ;-)

Balu has helped me in the past! Thanks man! Appreciated!
You're welcome. It's not only me though, it's the community that developed around Flite Test. They are an awesome bunch :).
Man, what a FANTASTIC airplane! :D
Josh, we missed you!
Looks great guys! I grew up with that show too (as well as the others) and i was seriously considering building a Seaduck too.
I would sooner go for a stunt plane with a "Save the Red Wolf." slogan.
Soooo gonna build this and add Baloo and kit stickers in the windows!
What I REALLY want next from Flitetest is to step away from the square planes.
I want foam versions of Guillows-type kits. Three or four sheets of foam with laser cut bulkheads that you can pop out with strips of foam..... Full curves on future planes!

I haven't watched the video but I already liked because Tales Spin. Great job on design and paint I recognized it from the thumb nail image.

I have an idea for a plane, if anyone's interested. I've noticed that Flite Test has planes that are maneuverable, planes that are easy to fly, planes that can carry large payloads, and much more, but some categories that aren't covered as much by Flite Test are speed and war birds. Now, there is the F4u, that you released recently, but there aren't any bomber or attack planes that are offered.
