@@MikasaAckermanFromAoT Not enough new games have the continuous level of adrenaline as Astro Bot not Mario but 3d Mario games are still some of my favorites.
@@ManiTeja-qr6ev well like I said in the video this isn't usually the genre I go for. Immediate thought is mario galaxy or the newer ones on the switch. Hat in time is really good if you've never played that. I enjoy psychonauts as well but that may be pushing a little outside the genre. Sorry I can't be more help!
Your Smash Bros comment is something I have been thinking about a lot since this game released. Smash has made me go back and try several Nintendo franchises I probably wouldn't otherwise have tried. I hope Astro can have a similar effect for Sony with their classics collection and maybe warrant them dipping into some dormant franchises. I just played Ape Escape for the first time, myself. Great video!
The director, clearly, used a model that has been demonstrated to him by someone whose been making successful games his whole life. Another thing that has appeal and a love for this game is making the player feel like a kid again. I've watched several streams of TH-cam creators playing this game, who normally have foul mouths, but playing this, it's like it reverts them back to being a kid again and oddly enough, they're not cursing up a storm. With childhood comes innocence. A being that isn't quite smart enough to fall subject to the environment and culture around them as easily so simple things make them smile. Again, you can have a little kids whose parents are fourth mouthed sailors BUT, the kid automatically knows better and won't talk like that. Born sinners? No, we're products of our environment. My point is, there's nothing political in this game. There's nothing political in Mario, Zelda, Kirby, or even Metroid. It's conservative views. Take Spider-Man, The Last of Us Part II, Naughty Dog's new game, HECK! ANYTHING BY NAUGHTY DOG TODAY and it's all filled with politics and woke views, that angers people. They don't want to be preached too. If they religion they'll go to a church. They want a political lecture they're go sit in that kind of meeting. Gamers want to escape the world that sucks, not be told how someone else wants the gamer to view people like them with an agenda. That's what games are becoming and we're letting developers use the words ITS AN ART FORM or it's EXPRESSION OF MY INNER SELF. We don't care! We want to play a game. You're here to entertain me. You can have a deep story without the politics. That's the problem. Neil Druckmann already has a problem with his own people around him not liking him for his nationality, he doesn't need to make it worse by attacking and villainizing what they see as valuable and important because he as, a minority perhaps, wants to yell and scream for them to confirm to him, it's not gonna work that way in a majority state. We're all put in those kinds of situations in life where tolerance isn't going to prevail. It hasn't for millenia and you won't make it now. You just conform and learn to live in what you have, that's life, that's being an adult. Not throwing a fit tantrum and threatening everyone to see it your way by destroying their community through violence and destruction, that's not how it's ever worked. That's why this game succeeds. It's simple. It's innocence. It's unbiased. It's not political
i don't see why games can't be an art form or self-expression, you said that like its a bad thing and that it leads to games being political though usually a lot of games that try to have a super deep story forget to be fun in the process

What was your favorite reference in Astro Bot? What's your favorite 3d Platformer?
Solid Snake reference was nice to see, and Mario Galaxy and Odyssey are my best 3D platformers.

Happy to help!
GOD OF WAR is a must too.
the people that made Astro Bot need to make a PlayStation All Star 2 like how the people who made Kirby made Super Smash Bros
