The Sacred Heart devotion has most valuable promises. Church always prays for mercy so I don't do Divine Mercy chaplet much. I always trust the older devotions, when there were so many Catholics who were so faithful and devout and strong against evil. Who knows about Fr Francisco Vera? Thank you Father, prayers daily for you.

The divine mercy devotions come from the sacred heart. Each devotion is given for its time, meaning that it is given as a gift from Heaven to prevent or mitigate the evils to come. These new devotions never replace the old ones, but rather build upon their foundation. Trust me - St Faustina was one of those faithful who fought strongly against evil. And consider this: that those weak Catholics who pray this or that devotion, perhaps that devotion keeps them from degrading further; or perhaps it offers hope of their eventual strengthening in faith.

@@CatholicK5357 I saw the Sacred Heart and First Friday disappear from local churches for the trendy DM. My issue is with Jesus saying to Margaret Mary it was His last. Tho I say the "I offer You the body, blood, soul and divinity..." Part at Host elevation. DM was rejected by Rome twice until Polish Pope.

@@sueadauctus3306 I understand your concern. But when it comes to these things distinctions are necessary. The local parishes who replaced First Fridays made a mistake in doing so, but the divine mercy devotion itself is not to blame for that. My local parish has incorporated both. They do the First Fridays, and they do the Divine Mercy on its feast day. Many privately do the chaplet throughout the year.
When Jesus said it was His last attempt, it cannot be literal. I don't say that to dismiss what He said. I say it because there are approved devotions that have come after the Sacred Heart and before Vatican II. His Mother's Immaculate Heart devotion came after the Sacred Heart, and yet it is connected - not meant to replace but to be used as partners. St Joseph is likewise being promoted by Heaven more and more in these last times. When Jesus said it was His last attempt, I think He was speaking poetically of how desperate His Heart felt to be loved by man. Yet, even if it were literal, the Divine Mercy devotion would not contradict it, since the blood and water related to the devotion comes forth from His Sacred Heart - meaning it cannot be separated from it.
No one can force you to take part in a private devotion. However, I would advise not to dismiss it too quickly and not to discourage others from taking part in it - especially since it has helped so many people, including myself. I personally love both devotions. God bless.

Is Divine Mercy of St Faustina the same as this Sacred Heart of Jesus of St Margaret Aloquoc?

No totally different. Much older .Some believe the Divine Mercy takes away from Sacred Heart Devotion and for along time Divine Mercy was banned by church.

      Why was Divine Mercy banned?

@@naturefrontiersabah9297 Holy office in 1958 and 1959 just said not enough evidence that it came from the Divine but JP2 reversed this in 1978. There are some You tube videos on Sacred Heart vs Divine Mercy.
