Such a beautiful song. Monster is a dark and bleak story but it always had this imminent sunrise about it. Monster had these small good deeds done by for instance Tenma who buys Dieter a soccer ball or Grimmer giving his shoes to a bullied boy. It's these good deeds that resonated with me and made me emotional while reading the manga. Truly a character driven masterpiece.
Grimmer was more human than other characters, yet he had so much trauma and did not know how to express his true feelings. That’s what makes his character arc really beautiful. One of the best secondary characters, period.
For me, both the ending themes were colored by the content of the series, gaining emotional meaning that is directly tied to the series. I can absolutely see how this feels liberating on its own, and since it's tied to the content of the series, it has a bit of a darker undertone for me. "For the Love Of Life" goes from feeling just starkly beautiful in a very particular way that's hard to describe to having dark undertones which comment upon the themes of a show, highlighting them. Even now, years after watching Monster, it feels still a bit unnerving. Although at first I found the singer's voice in "Make it Home" rather unnerving, like a sort of corrupted lullaby sung by a caretaker at Kinderheim 511, I feel it now more like it's a response to what's happening, like someone who has been hurt deeply but still sings something comforting to mark an ending to all of the pain for themselves and those also affected. There's a sort of fragility to this singer's voice in the range he's singing which creates such a unique atmosphere. Really incredible songs, both of them.
1) Tenma one of the best main characters of seinen 2) Grimmer one of the best secondary character 3) Johan best villain ever 4) Lunge best ""neutral"" point of view in the story 5) Eva sadness and solitude, good secondary character 6)Anna good character and particular story like Johan...

Just passing through on the last day (00:08 - 12/31/2023)
Theres just so much stuff to be combined in this anime. I really love it. And the endings are perfect
I actually like her voice has this old out of tune piano vibe. Folklore feel. Suits this song and show well.

Best anime I have ever seen. I have the first 15 episodes on DVD and REALLY want the rest. Was the most touching and thought provoking anime I have ever seen.
This sounds like a lullaby.
this song fit the story so much
One of my favourite anime!!!
This song boosts my mood everytime I feel low, I wish everyone good luck for whatever they are doing and remember you have to keep moving forward, maybe I will never meet you, but I bet we would be really good friends if we met in real life!
This song hits harder in the last episode
Nah bro I promised to myself that whenever I see this in my YT feed or suggestion video, I'll play it automatically and here I am for the nth time because I saw this again 😂
