This Krieg Army is the army that eversone wishes they had. Beautiful work.
So I'm going to point out I'm pretty sure we goofed up the mission scoring but we both understood incorrectly the same way so I think it all worked out in the end

Both armies are looking awesome, but I must admit, seeing a DKK player always puts a smile on my face.

Yo this was an awesome battle report. Props to the guest, he had the perfect mix of dry humor and friendliness. And its a fuken sigh of relief to watch a guard player run a solid list (besides the specific guard youtubers). I hope he makes a return with guard.
Also I totally double backed "Is that Red Makers Tank" Models look beautiful, the light armor mechs as well. If the guest ever sees this: were the tanks 100% or scaled down?

I'm seeing a lot of batreps with guard do this, but the autowound 6's are only in your turn which means it doesn't apply to overwatch.
"Each time an Astra Militarum unit from your army Remains Stationary, until the end of the turn, ranged weapons equipped by models in that unit have the [LETHAL HITS] ability"
Yea as a Guard player this was a painful watch
Last 2 CP for the guard should have been used to stack an extra AP on the captain with Fields of Fire strat. Also born soldiers doesn't work in overwatch, so no auto wounds.

When he removed the spear custodes in that unit that was bombed by the carriage in the first turn - did'nt look like that coherency was maintained?
Man you both got so obsessed with killing things that wouldn't die in Round 1. Kind of a worse decision for the Custodies though as Guard has the models to plink and attrition, Custodies not so much, since all they killed was the unit that doesn't belong in a post modern firearms battlefield, and made things come down to wound luck on a couple units.
Good on the Imperial Guard for staying in this and almost winning, with how ridiculously hard it is for them to damage anything in Custodies.

Coming back to 40k after being gone since 7th ended...that is almost the exact same Custodes list (minus the speeder, plus some other stuff) my opponent brought for my first learning game of 10th Ed, against my Grey Knights. I did some wounds but only killed two basic infantry models all game, of which one regenerated....worse loss I have ever taken in 40th. After the game I did UnitCrunch to see where things went gone, where I realized that in 10th Ed it was a mathematical impossibility for me to shoot him to death whatsoever. Especially his armor. And it was a near-impossibilty to win in melee against event the infantry. A true Welcome To 10th Edition. :) We are talking a calculated range of 8000pts -15,000pts of Grey Knights with max psycannon (ignoring unit limits), and at least 1/4 of those paladins with brocaps, to kill some units like custodes can field, or Tyrannofex, or C'tan, or pretty much any "hard target" with high toughness, 2+ save, and cover. I wish I were exaggerating. I hate mathematical reality.
The grey knight are in a really bad place right now.

Ratling snipers have Precision. The attacker gets to choose what model their attacks go on.
The attacker may choose to allocate those wounds to a character model, visible to the bearers of the precision weapon only.

No offense to josh, but I really hate the custodes. So it was super satisfying to see his opponent roll so much better than him. And even so it felt like guard were barely ahead. Like one low tier dude on the custodes can take an entire round of well above average shooting and barely even feel it, but they practically look at something and it dies. Not good rules design imo.
Atillan Rough Riders? What happened to my Death Riders of Krieg and "totally not modified" ummm... "Horses". Do they not exist anymore under the new rules?
They do exist but they are just objectively worse than Atillans, unfortunately.

So much low ap firepower from the guard bouncing off 2 up saves in cover
It is pretty frustrating. But GW does have that problem of wanting to make their favored baby who is best at everything and has no weaknesses. I've seen imperial knights shrug less damage than those basic infantry.
Cover does not apply to a 2+ save.
It’s not a matter of the ap it’s the lasguns strength being half the toughness of the custodes. They should be shooting the grav tanks instead, and letting the earthshaker and rogal dorn do most of the work on the custodes infantry
Custodes definitely S tier
A.M. Mid to low tier at present.
I complement the A.M. player on a nearly optimized list and good generalship.
Custodes player optimized list
and good strategy too, but
not as much sportsmanship, gloating occasionally and regarding a reinforcer unit of guardsmen as 'nerds' , despite having a proven tournament competitive list vs an army that has won Nothing in any tournament in 10th regardless of unit composition.(Even lowly Tau had a few third placings)
