Wait a minute, this doesn't make sense. When talking about Churchill's secret phone they said the germans could hear everything he said from a dutch listening station. They then said that the reason they were able to listen to his conversations was because all communication across the atlantic had to be done through radio. But they had just said that Churchill and the Americans were talking by phone. This doesn't make any sense. Was he speaking to the Americans by phone or by radio? If it were a phone, how could the Germans pick it up from radio signals? I'm probably just being thick but I found this whole part confusing.
"Raido" is only the way to carry the information modulated to analog radio signal. You can carry "phone" more ways than just by cable. GSM is basically radio, wifi too - just different frequencies. It makes sense if you have some basic knowledge.

...go to 27:22...he never used the word INVENTOR ...And also Meucci accidentally developed a way to transmit voices in 1850s...so he was the 1st amongst the three...and his wife sold his invention in 1871 and the patents by the other two gentlemen were filed in 1874.....now its for you decide who could have been inspired by whom...
Shame Gray couldn’t have phoned Bell so they could have collaborated.
What that sound track at 4:57 ?
26:07 song name?
It’s called Rachel’s Flat bŷ Badly Drawn Boy. It’s from the film, About A Boy. It’s a very short piece. My ex wife loved it, it used to drive me up the wall 😂
So by saying we have stone-age brains she admits that she failed to account for the last few hundred thousand years of evolution?
Ok Clarkson, I know you hate us (not our cars of course) but what about Johann Philipp Reis?
Reis was a German who was not a Nazi, so he has no place in this show 😂
And none of them were made by communists 😆
I disagree regarding as to how it allows everyone to everyone else.
It doesn’t. It is the ultimate censor. We can all choose to speak with who we choose, if we want to, or NOT.
The lady operator was the original only fans.
Man, did you see the size of the bomb they used for that Chechen guy? Fucking huge!
"me looking like clint eastwood"
It is nice to see that reason why video calls did not make breakthrough with land lines was not that technology did not ready but it was just that people does not want it. It had been in ~all mobile phones now over 5 years and still no one does not want use it.
What hole have you been living in? I see people all the time video chatting.
This comment hasn’t aged well :)
@@bob_the_bomb4508 What you mean? This comment is still valid. All have possibility to video calls. But no one wants them. Except sales personel at booked meetings. Ok maybe 50-60' want see their grand childrens and at some business meetings. But at ordinary day who calls video calls with their mobile phones? Is it normal at some culture that you ask with video call that do I take milk from shop? I think it is more like that we do not want even voice any more but we are reverted back to "telegrams"
Considering how much people reveal about themselves on Social Media these days....Mr Apology must be turning in his grave
