I love your kitchen and how minimal it is!
Thank you 🩷
So nice to see another minimalist mum in the UK! Fantastic tour! Looking forward to more videos x
Thank you 😊
freaking love how you said you dont even need a freezer! yes!!!
I'd need very little if I didn't have my Daughter living here. I compromise a lot for her, but she does for me also 🩷 My family joke I'd sleep in a tent in the garden if I could... and then de clutter the tent 😂
My dream kitchen thank you so much for posting
You're welcome 🩷
I loved this video so much! This makes me want to go through my kitchen now. I'm looking forward to more of your content!
Thank you! This warms my heart so much! I nearly didn't post as I'm really shy but I'm glad I did now :) Thank you for taking the time out to watch and comment and have fun going through your kitchen!
First video I've watched of yours , will get caught up now and look forward to more .
@laurawood4476 thank you 😊 I'm glad you enjoyed it 🩷
I love how everything has a place. I also dont like anything on my counters.
It makes cleaning a breeze doesn't it?! And no visual clutter is calming for me 🩷
Thank you so much, I was so curious as to how minimalism looks. Yours is the first minimalism channel suggested to me. Thank you for being so kind as to invite us into your home.
You are very welcome. Minimalism is very subjective and different people will have different definitions of minimalism, you just have to find the right level that works for you 🩷
I have just found your channel and I'm absolutely loving it thank you for your content.
I'm so happy to hear that! Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to message, I really appreciate it 🩷
I never thought of hanging gadgets in the wasted space in deep cupboards. Good idea!
Thank you 😊 It makes it so much easier to get to everything and to clean
Ive been looking for channels that can help and inspire me on my journey and im so happy to have found one. Amazing
I'm so happy to hear my videos have helped and inspired you 🩷 I am working on my next video now, so please consider liking and subscribing so you don't miss out 🥰
I love how uncluttered it looks, my next place will look like this. I moved back with my family at the moment, so it's not currently possible.
Thank you 😊
Thank you for showing us around your kitchen. It was very interesting to see what you have in your cupboards and to hear your thoughts about what is necessary and what is not. I particularly liked the way you stored your kitchen tools on hooks and the organisation of cleaning items under the cupboard under your sink. It looks like cleaning the space would be very straight forward. I hope you make a video about cleaning some time.
Thank you 🥰 The hooks were a game changer for cleaning as it makes it so much easier to wipe things clean without having to lift and move items around. I will add a cleaning video to my list of video ideas, thank you for your suggestion. Please consider subscribing so you are alerted when it's published 🩷
This is my dream kitchen!!
Thank you! I battle with the landlord on so many issues as I rent but I've tried to work with what I have to at least make it peaceful and easy to clean 🙂
Great video ❤ good luck on your minimalist TH-cam journey!
I'm glad you enjoyed it 🙂 Thank you for taking the time to comment, I really appreciate it 🩷
I enjoyed the tour.
Candy🤍
Thank you Candy, I love your FB group also ❤
OMG, hey candy!
👏👏👏👏🥰
Great video ❤️
Glad you liked it!! 🙂
Look forward to more videos like this.
I feel like the landlord should be fixing those gaps in the bottom cabinets as mice could get into them. Thanks for showing your kitchen.
I have so many issues with the property it's unreal! 🤦🏻♀️ The cupboards, windows, the cooker...it's never ending! The joys of renting 🙄 That's another main reason why I decided to post as most people only show off their homes if they are "perfect" and mine most definitely isn't!! Luckily, I have never had any issues with any rats or mice in the years I have lived here, I'd be out in a shot if I did... at least it wouldn't take me long to pack 🤣
A great first video and looking forward to many more
@garethedwards2883 Thank you. I've just uploaded a "30 things I don't have in my minimalist kitchen" which goes alongside this video if you enjoyed this one 🙂
I love that you toured your imperfect home. I’m also in a very imperfect rental and it’s great to see similar places. :)
@sunlitally Thank you ❤️ Work definitely needs doing here but I felt if I waited until I was in a "perfect" home I would never get round to posting anything so decided to embrace what I have and just roll with it! Renting can be hard work but at least with minimalism we can control some aspect of it ❤️
what is a velvetizer?
I bought it from hotel chocolat, it's basically a milk frother to make hot chocolate but I LOVE it. It's my indulgent kitchen item as drinking a good hot chocolate brings me joy 🥰
What sort of things do you eat? You don't seem to keep much as a store cupboard or in the fridge, so do you have to buy and make each meal separately?
Yes I don't bulk buy or bulk cook and I typically walk to the shops everyday to get what I need for that day. I'm very repetitive in what I eat so most days it's the same. For example breakfast every single day is overnight oats (oats, cacao powder, chia seeds, milk and maple syrup) lunch is normally a pre prepared salad, (I'm addicted to one from aldi at the minute which is had a avocado and mint dressing 🤤) or crackers with cheese, yogurt, a piece of fruit and a handful of cashews or sometimes beans on toast. Evening meal is normally stir-fry or pasta, I love noodles and a soy sauce/rice wine vinegar/spices dressing or a jacket potato with beans. I'm recently vegetarian so I will cook vegetarian chicken to go with the pasta and noodles. We love to eat out too when money allows also
That's fascinating to me
We do a weekly or a "big shop" and keep stuff like soups and chopped tomatoes, pasta, cereals, freezer stuff (veg, chips, pizza) in so that we can eat without going to the shops every day. Is there a reason you don't shop online in bulk to save carrying it (especially for the long life basics) or is the idea of seeing it all in the cupboards unappealing? I'm the opposite of a minimalist, but I'm trying to slim things down. But I can't imagine I'd ever want to be without a weeks worth of food in the cupboards. When I saw the half bottle of squash and the missing long life things, it almost induced a panic? I wonder if seeing them would be the opposite for you. Ironically I live about 100m from one little corner shop (where I can get washing powder, basic foods and meats, milk, some frozen etc but it's limited) and then 500m from a small supermarket. So this has made me wonder about why I think as I do, and why others may think as you do. And then others who hoard food. Absolutely fascinating.
It is fascinating, I have a friend who hoards food as she said in her childhood it was a scarcity so she wants the opposite for her children. I think we are all different and there is no right or wrong, just whatever feels best for you.
My rational is I live so near a multitude of shops so I can easily go and pick up what I need within 10 minutes. This way I can buy the freshest produce, less gets wasted as Im only buying what I need, I don't over buy or let them go past their sell by dates and I always have food that I fancy that day 🙂 I have to get out for a little walk every day for my mental health so having to go to the shops gives me a perfect excuse to do that. I survived during covid without having a huge backlog of food so day to day living is a breeze 🙂🩷
@@minimalismandmore I guess it all depends on circumstances. For me, I'm very short of time, so anything where I can reduce a task down to it's lowest amount of minutes is appealing to me. Even if it costs me a little more or means having more of something. I guess I'd rather be a time minimalist rather than a things minimalist. So I have a dishwasher, for example. That gets me back a good chunk of time. But costs more money and is a "thing" in my house. Going to the shop weekly, or twice a week to get the bits that run out, is great for reducing the time I'm on my way to, or in, the shops. I work full time so I find time is really pinched. But if I had more time from not working as much (and less money), I think I'd batch cook more to get my price per meal right down. I really should do it now to get my time to make meals down, but allocating a day to filling the freezer with a selection of pre made meals is a real effort. So I haven't yet.
Have you found any impact on your budget for daily shopping? Obviously less wastage, but do you miss out on offers because you are having to buy eg fruit squash today, so can't necessarily make use of offers? I buy my toilet rolls in bulk from amazon. It gets my roll price right down to about half the cost of buying them in 4s or 9s in the shop, but I think you'd probably lose your beautifully empty cupboard if you did it. Similarly I bought a bulk pack of 6 handwashes last week. We'll use them within a month or so as we have 3 sinks that need them so only have to finish one per sink. So I'm curious about the budget implications of this. You might still be a lot cheaper.
I'd be interested if you did a shopping budget type video actually. I wonder what your weekly spend is compared to us.
@briggle4982 I think depending on your circumstances it would definitely alter what you prioritise. So if you are working/not working, distance to nearest shops, budget etc. If my circumstances change I may have to re jiggle how I do things but for now this is what I've found works for me 🙂 I tend to buy the cheaper brands of most items anyway or kitchen staples like bread and milk which don't fluctuate in price so cost wise I think I probably save money.
Me thinks you don’t have visitors very few cups and plates
I do have visitors fairly regularly but only normally 1 at a time so I've never been short of anything. I prioritise meeting outside of my home where possible as I find that more enjoyable. I regularly meet up in coffee shops and cafes. If the occasion ever did occur that I needed more, I'm pretty resourceful. For example, I'd use a mug instead of a drinking glass! 🙂 Every person has different needs and this fits my needs perfectly 👌
are you from the UK?
I am 😊 I live in South Wales
@@minimalismandmore I'm from Sussex :) makes me so happy finding UK minimalists!
@extrememinimalism Me too! I knew I'd find my tribe someday 😆 Most people think I'm bonkers living a minimalist life!! 🤣
@@minimalismandmore Same, I dont think it's as popular as the states or Australia.
I know 1 other minimalist in "real life"! 🤣
Türkçe altyazılı olsa
It's like an empty house tour.. cold and not cosy.
If you don't like my kitchen...you won't like the rest of my house 🤣🙄🤣 I love it, it's practical, easy to clean, and works for me but it's not for everyone
Too minimal for me
It's not for everyone 🙂
