I have always been a huge John Wayne fan and still am today. Every time I see Ethan Wayne talking about his dad, I become a bigger fan. Not only for his movies, but for the way he brought up his children and how much love and respect they have for him. It's heart warming!
Truthfully, who didn't? John Wayne was the epitome of Cool! He was the good guy even when he was the bad guy! Ty Ethan Wayne for keeping his memory going!
Ethan Wayne... Such a truly heartfelt interview, he seems to be a genuine, great guy. So respectful to his Father & his Family, and really just down to earth about his personal trials and successes! For it being your first interview on film, you did a fantastic job, Sir! 🤠 👍👍
My God, Ethan speaks well. Measured, not defensive, seems to have a balanced view of his dad rather than describing him as a political saint. All children should grow up to be this authentic.
Wonderful to see Etan and the legacy he has created to his father. John Wayne always was and still is my favourite actor. Have over 100 of his films on DVD. i always respected him off the screen too and Michael & Patrick in their roles in his films.
I fell in love with Monument Valley working as a nurse on the Reservation in Az. I got ro know more about JW and his movies. My dad was always a big fan. My bucket list is to ride horsesback there and picture myself ruding with John Wayne. That land is so beautiful and gorgeous.
What a fabulous interview Ethan Wayne seems like such a wonderful guyou're full guy it just shows what kind of a father he had there he had and the relationship that they had I really enjoyed it thank you
John was my good friend when I was 10 years old, in '58. That was on the SS United States, for 5 days, transatlantic from NY to Europe. He was my captain, guide, boss, teacher; taking me all over the ship. Truth. Here Ethan talks about the cow hands and their superstitions, move the hat this way and that. Day one, they sent me into the small lounge, saying, somebody wants to meet you. John was close directly in front of me at a 2 table. First thing, he sort of flutters his hands around in front of his suit coat; as if, quick in and out, and around the front. Something for me to observe. Look out for the tricks. No pack of cigs ever showing. Then, calling to me broad and long to come to him for the deck walks. It is clear that John acted and maintained his interest in human individuals. Thinking now, that was the center of it. So, his American individualism was at one with that. He was beyond many of the others in the business, always organized and serious about it. It was his serious personal work. Never quit the good fight standing to get the result. I only try to sound like John at one thing: "Ya just got to know how to forget.". Ya got to like 'em. By chance, or the circle of action, John's friend Steve McQueen befriended me from '77 until he passed. Steve was something like John Wayne: A Shadow Taker. Motivated to take away the Shadow of suffering or the bad, from the individual young person. That was John. That was Steve. When your dad came along, actors knew how to act. That said, a lot of times actors depend on special effects and other things. Just not acting. Compare Clark Gable or Jimmy Stewart to these actors today, it is like comparing a fart to a hurricane.

🤠 👍👍
Ethan is such a personable and grounded young man. He has the ruggedness of his Dad. The Duke would be proud. 👍

What??? He actually said his Dad wasnt racist. I'd say thats unbalanced and pretty bias! 😒
👏🏽This is so wonderful listening to about him and his father 💕

Hi ethen I am a fan of your father, there will never be another John Wayne not for me, love xx
Thanks for watching, Sandra!
Thanks so much for this. Ethan is a very articulate and enjoyable guest. I especially liked The Cowboys and True Grit movies.
just love these moments very much ❤❤❤
Love this! John Wayne is my hero!!! ❤ Ethan Wayne is a great actor. Very handsome, just like his father 😊
Would like to hear about the other Wayne siblings and what they are doing.
My dad met Duke in Santa Fe New Mexico i was 4 Duke signed my baby shoes my mom still has them!!
They'll never be another John Wayne.
I love watching your father growing up thank you for your insight on you and your father life ❤
🤠❤️
Ethan is incredible! We love how natural and honest and straight forward.
He's a true gem, just like his dad!
Such a great guy !
Ethan sounds a lot like Patrick talking. Gotta say their dad was mighty handsome when he was a young man.
Ethan I fell in love with you watching Big Jake. All these years later you are still cute as can be..... and its still one of my fave westerns. :)
Fantastic interview. I think Ethan may be referring to the Sons of Katie Elder rather than Rio Bravo. Rio Bravo was made before Ethan was born.
John Wayne is the greatest actor ever
Can definitely make a case for it!
I used to watch Ethan on The Bold & The Beautiful. I was sad when he left the soap
There is a scene in "The Searchers" that I believe shows one of JW's best acting moments.
Truly a fantastic film and performance throughout!
How does he remember Rio Bravo when he wasn't born yet. I'm inclined to think he was thinking of the Son's of Katie Elder.

An interesting read, thanks for sharing.
He would not have known Ward Bond
Ward Bond, another wonderful character actor we were blessed with.
Ethan was not born when Rio Bravo was fimed and also Ward Bond had passed 2 years before he was born.
Yes. He must have been thinking of Sons of Katie Elder. You'd think he would be more of an expert like us fans. :-)

Ethan what ever happened to your father’s corvette
