If you've ever watched LTT, you'll understand why this is a dumb-ish idea. While for the first few uses it'll be fine, later on, the magnetic pins will wear out and stop connecting as well. That and the fact that this requires a bit more power draw then having it directly connected to the laptop and turning it on when needed. They could've hid it under the display or something, and it'd be a lot better.

@@gusti46 A punch hole, or hiding it in the bezels would've worked as well. I know it could've fit in the bezels because it's been done before in other brand laptops. Honor is pulling an Apple move with the camera. It's been tested that you can take about any camera and stick it up there, so they know it'll wear out, and you'll come to them buying a new one.
They can also sell it separately and it doesn't need take a place in the laptop. A few years ago, I had to pay Lenovo extra to remove the webcam that I never use.
Indeed, the Honor Magic6 Pro got the 1st DxOMark places regarding camera, selfie, display and battery when launched around February, and took the 2nd place regarding sound (tied with a ROG Phone 6, a gamer smartphone) and losing just to a Black Shark (a Xiaomi gamer smartphone). The smartphone is a beast, no other brand had done a smartphone which did so high scores in every area. I bought it and also am waiting to be brought (it's not sold there in Brazil, at least officially yet).
Honor's Ecosystem is the best for quite a few years now. Unfortunately people are too stuck with Apple and Samsung. From desktop mode on smartphones, to sharing multiple ways, switching between devices and the absolute top multitasking (etc.) Honor is the champion out there. People just need to give it a try and they'll easily understand Huawei...erm Honor is class.

That detachable camera trick is an amazing idea. Maybe more laptop manufacturers should adopt that idea too, and create some phenomenal body to screen ratios, and that privacy everyone deserves

I love haptic feedback, and I like that you can control the volume on the trackpad. The size of the trackpad is very interesting 🤔🧐.

If this had 5G for always-on connectivity I would buy at full price when launched.

to anyone asking.. the global magic v3 works on verizon, tmobile, at&t and all the other usa carriers but you need to import it, sites like wonda mobile or averagedad and then put your sim card in it. however you may not have wifi calling
Brilliant video. I have a lot of Samsung devices but never use them as an "ecosystem" the magic ring function seems to make it look easy with Honor. I need an excuse to buy a magic v3!
I liked the Camera design. To address the chances of losing it, they should fix it to prehensile string like thing which along with camera can be tucked underneath the laptop after using it.

I'll stay on the Chinese this time but will wait for global next time for sure. It came out just 1 month later and has better compatibility with Google services and Phone link. (there's workarounds for many issues but it's a compromised experience in the end) Oh well at least I have a rare color (white) and 16gb ram 😅
if the camera was retractable on the top of the screen, it would have been absolutely magical. wouldn't have to worry about losing it, but this is good though.
this Honor laptop is 5-10 years ahead of the laptops fm other vendors like Lenovo and Dell, can't believe it got 14"6 large display but only weighs 1kg. I'd like to buy the laptop and foldable phone in combo, hopefully they sell it in new Zealand.

Do you also think there will be any discounts on maybe the intel chips with lunar lake chips releasing now? I just want a laptop for study and maybe some light gaming like minecraft. I would like to keep it for a few years and for it to be a bit future proof. So maybe the AI of the inspiron 16 would be usefull. I'd like to have your opinion. I don't know about you but I'm close to throwing this Macbook out the "Windows". All of these devices look too cool. The camera in the laptop is the most impractical and impressive thing I've ever seen, the phone folds in half, you have AI functionality and an actual ecosystem. I wish there was more publicity about Honor.

Does it "detect" where the tablet is? like, say you put your laptop on the desk, and want to use the tablet as a drawing tablet so you put it in front of you, does it show up "below" the laptop's monitor? Small detail and i guess you can always do it manually but it'd be interesting if it detected the screen position
It actually doesn't at the moment. It kind of just picks a place and then I had to move the phone to adapt to where it 'thought' it was. Unless I'm missing something, but yes it does need an 'arrangement' type tool
The attachable camera is a nice solution and looks much better than a notch! But the camera takes up a third of the left speakers space? Is the left speaker smaller than the right one?

I always laugh when youtubers talk about not having a SD card reader, because literally NO ONE besides TH-camrs & Photographers really care about SD card readers. As an audio guy an SD card reader is the one ports I don't care about and feels like I could have gotten something more useful like another all purpose USB port or anything besides a SD card slot. But thats just me, maybe you like SD card readers?

That webcam is great but windows hello and faceid kind of features are going to be a nightmare to use.
True! Although the laptop does have a Windows hello enabled fingerprint reader that doubles as the power button

I will ask you a very strange question, but can the OS on the laptop be changed with another one? Does it support Windows 10? Does it support other Windows 11 Distributions? I have one distribution that lacks all the Microsoft's spying features, and I am using it successfully for a couple of months already. Does the laptop support Linux installation?
