    Thanks for the tip about letting them cool in the shape you intend to eat them in.

    I soak lentils over night to get rid of its phytic acid and put in the blender, it comes out the same as this.
    phytic acid is in all beans & seeds it prevents the vitamins & minerals to to get absorbed 💐

    Thank you for sharing! I love when a recipe has minimal ingredients. Simplicity and yet amazing outcomes. I can see your talented and passionate and as a fellow video creator & cook I would love to learn more together.

    I find a ground spoonful of flax/linseeds makes a good binder.

      I thought of the flax seed also but wanted to try the original recipe first. Thanks for the tip

    FYI, red lentils are not skinned brown lentils. they are their own variety.

      @carollbeaty1885 if they’re stiff then too much water evaporated. So maybe too high heat or cooked too long

      Hi! Not sure - could be a few factors like not enough oil in the pan or heat level?

  • @MP-li2ho

    Can you talk about the lectins since their not cooked, I love them but don’t want leaky gut.

    • @CookingCompanionTV
      @CookingCompanionTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting! Apparently soaking lentils can remove most of the lectins so you could soak them before ending them with water. It’s also possible to blend the dry with water and let that soak a few hours (should have the same effect as soaking them whole, right?) and finally, you could still blend cooked lentils with more water for that batter-consistency.

  • @DarleneDeSilva
    @DarleneDeSilva ปีที่แล้ว +1

    If you soak the lentils over night it makes them more digestible.

  • @MP-li2ho
    @MP-li2ho 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yeah I wish that was true but there’s no study I can find about soaking to kill lectins , it’s always boiling for 10 minutes. If you find more information please let me know thanks I appreciate it.

    • @CookingCompanionTV
      @CookingCompanionTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m just googling it but still, it’s possible to cook the lentils and then blend them with water to get the same consistency

    I wonder if you can do it with chickpeas...

    • @CookingCompanionTV
      @CookingCompanionTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep! That’s very similar to socca. I have that video on the channel. It’s harder to bring the chickpeas yourself so you’d have to buy chickpea flour.

      The oil you spread in the pan before cooking helps with that.

    How to use a cast iron for this..mine came,out gross. Also, your recipe is off..filled with water. I followed it to the t. Broke up and no cohesion. Can’t believe others got flatbread out of this extremely watered down recipe..screwed up my CI pan, washing a nightmare..

    Great recipe. Why go vegan though?

    • @CookingCompanionTV
      @CookingCompanionTV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In general, I label things vegan that qualify as such, as a way to more clearly call out those options within my content for the vegan community.

    • @_WinterSnow
      @_WinterSnow ปีที่แล้ว

      Veganism is to prevent exploitation of animals in any shape or form. Animals are able to feel pain just like humans, so it's not ethical to kill them to consume their meat or to use animal-derived materials in products or to profit off them in circuses or zoos or aquariums etc. Some people become vegan for health or environmental reasons, but I think the main reason should be to minimize animal exploitation as much as possible.

    This is the absolute worst tasting and textured thing I've ever made. Waste of lentills. Anything else you can make with lentils will be far superior.
