Wow! That had to have been awesome having that on your lawn! What did the neighborhood think of it? I'm also curious to know: were you a big fan of the B-52's before the concert?
Try to catch them if they play close to you , kieth no longer tours with them , he retired from touring to spend time with his older parents etc...Kate. Pierson 4red head is on Tik Tok and doing amazing for 70 , Cindy Wilson lives in Dunwoody Georgia and you can see her sing with her Son , Cindy Wilson had an album come out a few years ago and I missed it , tour etc here in Atlanta and Athens GA and I missed it :( Fred was with her also and I missed it , but I did see most of the big shows since 1981 Atlanta Fox Theater.
STEPHEN GERACI - u absolute legend...happy thoughts for u from the Uk..how mental ? What a moment of a slice in life that must have been.. Not many can claim such I'm sure..and u got the fun band... Result..
OH MY GOODNESS! WHAT AN EPIC SHOW!!!!!! If I only could have been there, but with my HD headphones blasting I can imagine. What an an amazing ensemble! Legends for sure, they will always be loved ❤❤❤
Yeah, but they lost a sound board and the new one was giving them issues. They had a horrible storm that day. It was amazing the show went on at all. I'm the guy who one the contest. It was still a fun day!
I am always thrilled by the "take me down..." chorus of "Good Stuff". As a singer I am impressed at how accurate and good and exciting the two girls capture and perform that part. On the record it is overdubbed many times to get a great fat sound. Cindy's powerful voice makes it all work with just the two of them. Amazing.
Wow....Cindy and Kate....on "Quiche Lorraine"...great...especially Cindy. (I know I emphasize Cindy twice in comments. It's just that Kate is known for her unique voice while Cindy doesn't get her due by many, when she's often the reason they sound so good. Cindy returns here from hiatus. We were all so happy she did).
I’m from Australia the B52s often tour down here. Just want to say how much I enjoyed this show and Mr Stricklands guitar playing he’s very talented they all are and thanks again!
B52s have always been a favorite of mine. I was born in 77 in the 80s my sister played nothing but the B52s. Then I got into the dead and trading bootlegs. I found that live B52s are where its at. One day I think it was 91 I traded 5-2-70 a really awesome dead show for a stack of B52 bootlegs I got them for my sister. Figured she'd love them and she did. But I also fell in love them. I copied each one for my self. Still have a couple shows that didn't get chewed by the tape player. There so old nos though I don't think I would try to play them. Most of the shows were from the mid 80s and they were on fire they put on such a good show.
Great concert! The b52s are a great band. New wave bands of the eighties were all good. Simple Minds, Talking Heads, Sex Pistols. Siouxie and the Banshees were great too. I like of course Cyndi Lauper, Adam Ant, even REM. (More of an early 90's band.) I am a huge jazz fan but I enjoy rock and folk too.
This was my first concert. I was 5 my dad took me down there just so he can take a peak and the security guard gave us passes because I was cute 😂. One of my first memories.
So sad the band lost the loved Ricky Wilson (Cindy's brother) to AIDS in 1985. I know it was really hard for the band to reform and hit the road. While Strickland does OK on the guitar, he's just going through the notes. We all know that no one can take the place of Ricky's unique surf music sound, which I enjoyed along with Dick Dale's sound.
Exactly . So nice in person , I even met Cindy's parents three times back stage /stage door in 1982 ,1983 , 1989 . Fan since 1980 , I hope to see them again . It used to be every year almost.

I remember waiting all week for this to come on Mtv so I could record it. When 9:00 come around it wasn't on. I waited to see if it would come on at 10:00 and still NO. It finally came on about 10:40 because of the storm delayed it.
nice quality, great sound. imagine ENTERING a contest where you "win?" anything john "cougar" mellencamp or john bon jovi related. the "winner" for these guys should have been down south, like the horrible bon jovi show. the B's were the headliner for "earth day 1," in 1990 central park. mtv, not this here station. mtv by this time had some videos on thursday afternoon, but was mostly real world garbage. cindy sounds like she's getting over a cold. the weather didn't cooperate. could have really been something here.
Kate comes out with such great unique melodies. Absolutely in love with that crazy hot redhead. Wish I had known her in my life she would not have turned gay lol
I have been saying that for years at many convmcerts , peoople just stand or sit at everything. Once the B52s played Six Flags over Atlanta and I wanted to kill the audience , so I just got up on the lawn front stage and danced in front of everyone , then Love Shack came on at end and they all stood up..
Agreed, I'm from the UK (we know how to party with this band!) Went to see 90s rock band Bush in front of 12,000 outside.(San Francisco 2019) ...they all stood still with their hands in their pockets😲 , saw them again in London.... It was a party crowd jumping, dancing and moshing.... USA you've surely got to dance and party with the B52S... Come on!! 🤣
Thanks for putting this up. I'm the silly guy who won the contest. That's me and my wife on stage. It was a great experience!!
Wow! That had to have been awesome having that on your lawn! What did the neighborhood think of it? I'm also curious to know: were you a big fan of the B-52's before the concert?

My God, that performance of "Dance This Mess Around!" Cindy was absolutely incredible!
One of the best Bands live. I saw the B-52's live at the Brixton Academy London 84 with the Taking Heads.
Lucky one!

Cindy is more talented than Kate BUT she's extremely shy. Kate is very outgoing.

Wow! Awesome concert!! Dance this mess around! ❤️
OMG, I remember this....back when music was "FUN" and auto tune was not a thing👏👏👏
Back when VH1 and MTV achtually broadcasted MUSIC!

Well if he's just going through the motions he's doing a marvellous job, he had Ricky to a T. 👌 I couldn't tell the difference 🤔
Superb version of Good Stuff. I’m dancing my shoes off 😂😂😂
Wow ! I never got to see this until now ! Thanks , they are the most fun ever.
This is an amazing live raw unfiltered set from the evergreen B-52s.
Lets have a DVD release of it.

Kate was hot, is hot and will die hot, forever hot.
It’s 2021 and she’s still hot lava.
20:20 Cindy sings "do the Little Ricky yeah." I wonder if that is an homage to her brother.
I miss these!
Saw them 07/04/22 on Ft.lauderdale Beach,on stage 8pm,off 10:45 AWESOME!!

Rock Lobster is the best song ever
In 1996, the artist featured in the VH1 Backyard BBQ sweepstakes was JOhn Mellencamp
He lives about 5 miles from here. You can have him. I'll take the B's.
what a great night.
Cindy ❤
always a party when Cindy is dancing or when Cindy is smiling at a very tall queen dressed like her that has all her moves
How about that lucky bastard who got to have this!
remember dancing to rock lobster at middle school grad
Kate comes out with such great unique melodies. Absolutely in love with that crazy hot redhead. Wish I had known her in my life she would not have turned gay lol

Does anybody know if this has ever been upscaled to HD / remastered and made available on a blu-ray?
Kate. Still is

Boy that is one lame crowd. Great band, giving off energy! Crowd, standing still, sucking all the energy out of the room.
I agree, bunch of lame assholes don't know what they're watching
