Really appreciate your teaching style. We love to watch more videos about business and work related Chinese From you. They way you teach is way more practical and easy to learn and very informative.
You're always welcome! We are always using Chinese numbers in daily life so this lesson was produced to help you understand the numbers in use. Hope you will master it.
New to even attempting to learn a new language.minute in n I already notice.. The... Accent things above letters give note to vocal pitch direction when pronouncing the words...
It's interesting that 一百 (100), 一千 (1,000), 一万 (10,000) always include 一 (1). However, 十 (10) only includes 一 (1) if the number is greater than 100. For example : "ten books" = 十本书 "one hundred and ten books" = 一百一十本书
Ordinal numbers are usually expressed as 第+number. So 第二 means "second". Here, 二 is used, and not 两. However, 第 is often omitted in some common designations. For example, "second floor" is usually 二楼 (and not usually 第二楼). But 两楼 would be incorrect. It neither means "second floor" nor "two floors". "Two floors" should be 两层楼 where 层 is the measure word for 楼.
这个手机现在比以前便宜三成 This cell phone is 30% cheaper now compared to before 在中国,差不多有七成的人没有座过飞机 In China, nearly 70% of people have never flown on a plane 我知到”百分之”,但现在我学习”成”。谢谢
An idea to another video, is you talk about measuring units for: distance, weight, volume, time, etc. and, like this video, you can teach the simple ones (meters, kilograms) and the more advanced ones (light-years, gigabytes) Hope you like it. 谢谢
Could you make a video where you count from 1-100? I can't find any video like that. I understand how to SAY all the numbers, but when I'm exercising or something and try to count in Chinese, I feel like I don't understand the proper natural rhythm to count that high. I always sound like I'm saying one number after the other, instead of sound like I'm counting to a rhythm with even time between numbers.
DengDeng, your English is very, very good, but there is one word you mispronounce because in English it is said differently depending on the tense...the word read. When you say "the 0 must be read", it should be pronounced like the English word red with a short e vowel. Always, thank you so much for all your videos!!!👋
@@anires1195 you totally misunderstood my comment. I enjoy these videos very much, and I learn a lot from them. I have been a teacher for over 40 years and my comment was to correct one word that many people have a problem with who do not speak English as their native language. If the comment offended DengDeng or anyone else, I apologize.

The interesting thing about 倍 is that it can mean "times" (multiples), but it can also mean "double". So that "twice as expensive" can be 贵两倍 or 贵一倍.
Love your videos! The best on TH-cam!
Glad you like our channel. ❤

Wow, you found it!
In fact, we also say 10 = 一十, 11= 一十一 in some dialects that were handed down from ancient times.

Exactly! 是这样的☺

so in Chinese, it is the opposite of English with discount %. Where we say 20% off the price, you just say 80% of price.
Yep
It took me a while to figure that out when I went to China 哈哈
Exactly! You found the rule!
