What people tend to forget tho, is the reason people react this way is because it was the early stages & they usually let a lot of misfits on the show that are terrible. Hence why people are quite sceptical about her. I know people say you should never judge a book by it's cover, but anybody that states they've never done that, is a liar... And let's be honest, if it wasn't for all the scowling & prejudging, this clip of her would be nowhere near as popular as it is. Every cloud has a silver lining as they say.

      @@AD270479 False.
I have never judged anyone by their cover.
It's not who I am or have ever been.
You can call me a liar all you want.
      I know who I am.
Being the ugly duckling all my life and never the swan has given a perspective that no one has ever been given.
Because every person deemed the ugly ducking eventually turns into a swan.
I have never even walked in the foot steps of a sawn, so I see everything everyone else becomes blind to see.

Susan was her mother’s caregiver for years. After she passed it was just Susan and her cat, Pebbles. She sang regularly in village kareoke. She was judged for her appearance, probably age and she has Asperger’s. Simon took her under his wing, she had a makeover, proper diagnosis and she toured extensively. Elaine Page did sing with her. She bought a big house in her village but didn’t like living there, so she moved back to the council flat she and her mom had lived in. She had a couple of breakdowns from stress, but apparently Simon was very protective and understanding, so helped her through it. Amazing talent. Amazing lady.

Not only had she never done more than karaoke, but she chose one of the most iconic songs from musical theatre, intrinsically difficult to sing, and NAILED IT! I think the main reason this was so impactful was because that sing was usually sung by a young, 20's someting, actor on stage. But here we have someone in their late 40's, singing about the dreams she had in her youth, and that resonates more than hearing someone who barely started to llive in this world. To hear someone singing of their dreams while prusuing them, and gaining them is massively impactful

I believe this is one of the most-ever viewed BGT's auditions!
The most wonderful part of this, is that she went on to sell #1 albums and do tours all across the world!
And, she ended up singing a duet with Elaine Paige!
Please check out her "Wild Horses" cover!
She was a caregiver for her family and mother all her life and had promised her mom she would give singing a try (she has sung since she was 12, and got heckled in her village, early on...now, they are taking good care of her)
She also found out she has Asberger's...she is soooo inspiring!

Susan Boyle reminds me of a scene from an old time movie. The singer is standing in the wings with her manager. Her manager said to her, "Listen kid, you are going out there a nobody and coming back a star". That is exactly what happened to Susan. She went on the stage and no one knew her. By the time she sang the last note everyone knew her. Susan went on to finish in second place(she should have won)to a dance group. The day after her audition her name and story were in newspapers world wide. She has since gone on to sell millions of albums worldwide. She is now worth several million dollars, appears all over the world and is loved by so many. By the way when Susan was asked who she would like to be as famous as she said, "Elaine Paige" who was a famous actress on the stage. Her dream came true when she and Elaine sang a duet on a tv special in the UK. Yes Susan Boyle sang "I dreamed a dream" and it came true.I just wished they had the Golden Buzzer back then.

When she walked out on that stage in 2009, she was a nobody. When she walked off, she was a star. When she put out her first album, it sold millions of copies--in the FIRST WEEK. And every album after that went gold and platinum--she's amazing. She's remained humble and reclusive--and still has that golden voice. It's a joy watching her. If you loved this, also watch the BRITAIN'S GOT TALENT first audition of Jonathan and Charlotte--two teenagers who come on together, and they're like Susan--they don't look like much. Just watch them and react to them... you literally won't believe it. So GLAD you reacted to this!
