- Hurricane Teddy has knocked out a large portion of the North Wildwood beach.
The hurricane may be 800 miles off the coast line but it’s still wreaking havoc
This is in North Wildwood from 7th street to 14th.

Sold my house on eighth Street last summer. So sad to see the beach eroding away. I remember when it was a three block walk from Kennedy to get to the water. Thanks for the video Joey.
Wow is all I can come up with, I have been vacationing in the wildwoods for 50 years and I love your videos. Keep them coming
That's pretty crazy my friend. I've been looking through my old pictures and I have a lot of pictures of some of the hotels we've owned. They go back to the 40s and 50s up until the 2000s. They include the Georgiana, the Ship Ahoy, the Tangiers, the El Rey, the Aquarius, the Newport, and a Subway on Rio Grande. Also have random pictures of the beach. Not sure if I want to post them on another Channel or how I'm going to get them posted but I think you might find them interesting.
never hear anything about the old atlantic hotel that used to be next to kellys pub . withits 3 story porchs and great veiw of the ocean from 2nd and 3rd floor. thats one building wildwood should have saved.

Hey Joey- another great video! To everyone who is upset, I fully understand. My memories of North Wildwood start in 1965. I built my first sandcastle just off 3rd Avenue.
The hard part to accept is that all these Atlantic barrier islands are very temporary land, from a geological perspective. Jetties are only a medium term fix, and very poor ecologically. There's some good books out there on the geology of the Atlantic coast if you want to dig deeper (no pun intended). Hard choices have to be made on how to respond to the science involved.
Wow. That is amazing, sad to see the beach erosion. Please keep us updated. Hard to imagine a storm that far away can cause that much damage.. Thank you
Amazing how a hurricane so far out can affect the jersey shore at n Wildwood
That’s some amazing footage! Thanks for sharing Joey 🤗
Wow this is so sad😞
Thank you Joey it was a great view of the ocean. 🙂
Beautiful footage of ocean..ty!
I feel so sad that the beach is gone! All that hard work they did! 😢
Do a drone fly over please. Had a house on 12th St, but been living in Fl for 14 yrs now. Miss Wildwood. They don't have anything like it down here. They try, but it's sad.
Certainly informative. However, it would be a welcomed overview of the beaches in Wildwood and Wildwood Crest on how they were affected by the storm.
You Just Can't Mess with
Mother Nature!💥
I was literally down in wildwood yesterday and it was fine
Be careful Joey lol
that is unreal. I remember in the 60s when they wanted to make a new street on the sand. It would be gone if they had. I lived on 16th St. I could never think that N Wildwood beaches could be in jeopardy. This is crazy!!
I was there this weekend and saw the beach for about an hour. I was on the 4th floor of the Acropolis hotel. Beautiful views.
Thanks for the video.
Joey, Can you do an updated video about how 8th Avenue and the beach looks now?
Incredible! NWW and Anglesea always get hit. "She'll make you rich, or she'll feed you to the fishes." (Summer Rental). Tfs!! 🐋🐬
I WAS THERE AUGUST AND THE BEACHES WERE STILL THERE WHY ARE THEY GONE
I WAS JUST THERE LAST WEEK AND THEY WERE THERE IM SO CONFUSEDDDDD
Saph's World #Wildwood
I explain in the video why this has happened
I dont believe how bad it is!
Impressive show from Mother Nature. Thanks for sharing.
Oh wow I didn't even realize there was a hurricane off shore lol
So what do the beaches between 26th Street and Glenwood look like?
Go on "watch the tram car please" and you'll see the beach.
You should do a special video on the revolutionary side at battle of turtle gut inlet and how that applies to sunset lake. Sunset lake used to be an inlet from the ocean.
Coming down for Irish weekend in few days
OMG this so sad! All the money pot out to replenish the beach, and the beach is gone! We were in Cape May birdwatching for several hours, and got to North Wildwood at about 230 which was about 2 hours after high tide, and the water was still very high! So windy too, NNE winds going pretty strong right at the beach.
Never underestimate gods fury
How much of the beach is left leading up to the piers and waterparks?? From these shots, it looks like the water is right up against raging waters!
In Maryland we got the winds of hurricane ida!
WOW!!! The power of the Ocean and Mother Nature! Thank you for sharing this and I just am amazed! It is unbelievable that the sands can be torn away so easily and yet returned and groomed for us to enjoy!
Didn't that part of the beach just get replenished not to long ago? Wow.
Strange as it is the sand will wind up the center part of Wildwood beaches
Wonder if they would consider building a series of jetties in Wildwood to prevent this erosion?? I guess the Army Corps of Engineers would know...
Jetties are ugly and glad Wildwood doesn’t have many.
@@jerrygsvt We have a lot of them up here in NY. They're ugly but do the job...
Send the drone into the storm Joey.lol
Oh nooooooo!
Is this the new beach that is getting washed out
wow that sucks
Its amazing that all the sand is gone. Now they are going to have to replenish all the lost sand next year.
unfortunately, even one n'easter this winter could be really, really bad.
I was just in Atlantic City
Shit!!!! I’ll be in North Wildwood this upcoming weekend
When are they going to build the dunes they have been promised? Only the Crest have begun to hold back the surging
and flooding. But North Wildwood and Wildwood remain defenseless.
Boy!! Your Aunt Jeanette would not like to see the Wildwood Beach gone
Unfortunately, it looks like the border wall was mistakenly built in North Wildwood...I miss the nature dunes and I'm sure so do the wildlife!!
I can confirm this, I was just there
They just finished in July. ☹️. They were so pretty
Can u show us wildwood
Oh no beaches is gone
Just matter of time and North wildwood is done
Dive in
Are we suppose to get the hurricane cause I wasn't aware?! I didn't hear anything!
No, it is moving north into Canada far offshore. The waves and higher than normal tide are being caused by a number of things. The hurricane generating large swells, the combination of the hurricane (low pressure) and high pressure to the north of the storm causing a persistent northeast wind, and a full moon.
You’re kidding
The wave is going to crash in front of you?😂
Geology happens!!
Ummm these the same beaches they just replenished?...... heck 2020 made them build the boardwalk twice why not expect the same with the beach. 🙄 So sad to see it like that. No money coming in from covid and they already blew the budget on beach replacement. At least the seawall is working.
I hope nobody is on the beach
Won't be long before your bulkhead is gone too
