    The Wildwood, Wildwood Crest & North Wildwood should put Joey C " the Ambassador to the Wildwoods " on their payroll. His thoroughly thought out vidios surely creates creates extra business to these towns. Hard working young man deserves a big pat on the back. Appreciate how he uses best in class cameras , microphones & drone.

    Joey. I was born in 1957 and then going to Wildwood New Jersey every year since Saint except those years but I was in the army and lived out of state and country. I have traveled the world I have vacation the world I’ve been the most bodies of water, including the Pacific coast of the United States, and I can tell you the best beach in the world is Wildwood. I don’t know why, but it is and the boardwalk literally is the biggest best in the entire world, now I have something for you to research that I think you may enjoy
    In the early 1960s we did not need an umbrella to protect us from the sun. The ocean water came up almost to the boardwalk. The boardwalk served as are on Bralla. And then at high tide, the old World War II PT boat converted to a tour ship the pink flamingo would be able to come and sail right up to the boardwalk, now when I go to Wildwood it’s like crossing the Sahara desert to get to the ocean.
    I suspect the city did something to curb the massive flooding in storm that we had in 19 62,63 and that’s what push the ocean back or England is sinking.

    This is a real problem for the area. Too many times I hear people say WW is not worth it because you either have no beach in NWW or miles of beach to traverse with kiddos and belongings in WW proper. The in-between areas are going to be packed with people. Ugh.

    To bad that New Jersey DEP won't let North Wildwood put in the bulkheads, at least that there wouldn't be so much beach erosion along the beaches, and less flooding in the Lifeguard station, and the motels there.

    Never thought I'd see the ocean come up that far. Years ago it was at least a mile or so walk from 16th st to the ocean. Amazing how time has changed that area. Just shows how global warming is actually true.

    Grew up with WW as a vacation spot yearly. Remember my first trip to Hawaii & realized how beautiful WW beach’s are. No disrespect to HI nothing but ❤️. But WW has way more beach line than any place I’ve seen in the HI. That being said HI is a higher level so there’s a trade off… but it’s a long fight & $. WW has everything & it’s local.

    What will happen in 20 years from now? Will the ocean keep moving until it reaches the streets and hotels?

    • @billstanton9446
      @billstanton9446 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Only nature knows what is next. 60 years ago in WW, waves came up to and sometimes under the boardwalk. The beach in NWW was much wider then but also there were less buildings close to the dunes there. WWC was not near as wide as it is now, maybe one fourth the distance.
      The ocean is changing and always has over time.

    Wildwood has been my favorite vacation as a kid and grown up person. I have been there for the past 45 years. My vacation are book for the summer, but I am thinking it might be my last one in WW. I always stay in NW, the beach will be gone in some parts, the price of the Motels are ridiculously expensive. It used to be an inexpensive and super fun place to visit, but I think my vacaction will cost me around 4000$ this summer. I wonder how it will become in the future, more CONDOS less motels, it is sad!

      Think the condo explosion has cut back on the quality restaurants down their. Last year we gave dump tourist trap Uries a second try. Was the worst meal ever. Served us two ice cold Rock hard baked potatoes , horrible fish and could not get drink refill after eating the salad. Later that week we over to the Lobster House in Cape May for great seafood. We used to go the Hitching Post in North Wildwood maybe five times one of the weeks we were down there for either great breakfast or suppers. Was torn down to build another ugly condo. Saw a lot better looking Army & Air Force barracks then entire block.of same plain Jane color condos. Hope AL&P & Sams pizza at 26th st never close.

      Yep. My grandparents have been going to the shore their whole lives and just told me it was cheaper to go to Europe than a weeks trip to the shore.

    I know that they're ugly, but I don't know why they just don't put in those big rock jetties all along the surf over there in N. Wildwood? I know they had a lot of success with those up here in NY on the beaches of Coney Island, Rockaway, and Long Beach Island.

    It's amazing what you can see when you put the drone in the sky. DEP better get off their high horse and start helping us out. Enough of the bickering and let's get the approvals already! Maybe DEP needs to see these drone videos. Maybe we should all show up at DEPs doorstep and protest!

    It has always amazed me how state government believe they know more than local government.
    the State needs to get out of the way before one very bad storm ends up costing lives and millions in damage.
