    If college football doesn't get the money and the transfer thing under control we will lose college football as we know it! I'm an Alabama fan and the current way they do things favors my team but we have to get the boosters out of paying for players and restrict the transferring a bit!

    The problem I have with the idea to separate football is the "they don't go to school" part. Take a team like Alabama or Georgia who lead the NFL draft every year lately. How many of the 200+ players on those teams are getting drafted or signing as free agents after the draft? 20? School is for the other 180. What do they do after football if they play football without the school?

    Best interview I’ve ever seen on Late Kick! I’ve always enjoyed Joe Tessitore as an announcer, but I absolutely loved hearing him speak so eloquently and intellectually about the sport and illustrate his passion and caring for the sport in the process. This is why Josh and Late Kick are the bomb for College Football Fans (not necessarily for the casuals). I could have listened to 2 hours of this. I hope Joe can do more of this as I’d love to see and hear more of his views. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

    Interesting how a committee can exist with ambiguous and subjective terms for teams to get in to the playoffs. What is it based on? Why are no explanations given as to why teams are admitted in or left out?

    • @xrexc3179
      @xrexc3179 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Precisely! And the even bigger question to me that no one is talking about.....How can an entity that owns the media that generates the revenue for the sport almost exclusively AND that organized the playoff and the committee that dictates it also be financially invested in a participant or group of participants in that playoff?!?! How is that not clear conflict of interest???

    • @natlovell122
      @natlovell122 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@j.akelly9775 it’s not that, it’s that the committee gave no explanation. A lot of TV/podcast/radio analysts have, but not the committee themselves. I actually think the Michigan vs Bama game will be a better game but it still sucks for FSU.

    • @_dell137

    Rewarding the teams who ripped other conferences apart in pursuit of the sec and big ten by giving them extra brownie points for seasons with 2-4 losses is an absolutely terrible precedent to create. Those teams and conferences should have to deal with the consequences of ripping apart the structure of college football. Not giving them the benefit of the doubt on a 9 win season should be a minimum of the price they should pay.

    For example ACC was 4-3 B10 and 6-4 SEC this year and then the SEC/B10 were (7-9)/(5-8) overall versus all the conferences. So this year and then moving forward with the transfer portal, NIL and the expanded playoff will continue to spread the talent around the country similar to back before the 2000's.

    • @EulogyfortheAngels
      @EulogyfortheAngels 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Those are cool stats, but you're completely misusing them because they aren't being put into context. There are Power 5 conferences that didn't even face each other this year. Each conference played a different number of OoC games. The seeding of games were often uneven relative to conference standings.
      BTW, the 6th place SEC East team beat the #2 ACC team. The 6th place SEC West team beat the #3 PAC12 team.
      80% of the top 25 recruiting classes reside in 2 conferences. The other 20% is either independent (Notre Dame) or are actively trying to leave the ACC.
      I'm certain that people will be citing conference bowl records as they unfold - of course to laugh at whatever conference they don't like - even though bowl records are irrelevant in the current landscape of the sport and have been for a few years. I used to leverage them in arguments/debates, but with opt outs and transfers there's little relevant to that data now.
