    I just thinking to get the NQi sport, surprisingly in Indonesia the top speed is ~60 km/h, and it cost for about IDR 30m / €1900 (way cheaper than other variant, cause it already fully assembled within the country)

      @gregswiatek515  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks! Hmmmm, I don't have that issue.. but just wondering, you have noise when braking or just when driving ? The way their brakes are designed, the pads are fixed on a part that has some play. I don't know how to explain but you can move the pads with your hands and they have a bit of freedom, as they are mounted with some play. Perhaps it could come from this design I'm not sure. Did you try cleaning them ? Could be some residue from braking/powder. I hope you'll find a way to get rid of that noise, worst case by checking with the dealer. Good luck !

    • @gregswiatek515
      @gregswiatek515  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The red "P" is park. Normally when you turn on the power to the scooter with the key, the "P" will be displayed. When the P is displayed, you can't use the throttle. Then you just need to press the green button to put the scooter in riding mode (equivalent of a starter on a motorbike) and then the Red P disappears. I never saw mine flash. It's just on until I start the scooter with the green switch. You can send me a video of the whole sequence and I can share your video with the shop owner here, i have him in my contacts.

    • @gregswiatek515
      @gregswiatek515  ปีที่แล้ว

      I've been to Beijing a few times, and from my understanding, there are areas downtown where you can't drive scooters there. It might be just some parts of the center, because out of there for sure there were some. You'll have to look into which kind of scooter you can get to be able to have a licence plate, there might be maximum speed limitations to get a licence plate. That kind of stuff is changing all the time so when you get there you can get the latest info. At some point they had temporary "yellow plates" which allowed faster scooters to have a 3 year temporary plate, there are also "white plates" for scooters usually not exceeding 25 km/h and those are just legal and permanent. Anyways this might have been changing so to confirm once you're there with locals and the police stations which manage the plates. Good luck !

    • @gregswiatek515

      That's fine - driving 25 km/h you will get much more range than if you would drive 45km/h or more.
      As for hills, where I live is mostly flat but I did have some hills to climb and never had issues, some were suite steep (underground parking garage type). I don't know how steep/what's the angle of your hills, but for some rather steep hills for me there was no issues.

      @gregswiatek515  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm sorry I don't know if it supports fast charging.. i only got the stock charger That cones with it. I never timed it very precisely, but i think usually from like 15% to 100% it would take about 5 or 6 hours I'd estimate. As for idle, I'd say maybe it would lose about 5 to 7% a day.. again I never pay too much attention to that, but it was never an issue. All those are just rough estimates..

    • @gregswiatek515
      @gregswiatek515  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi ! Sorry for the late answer. Honestly the range haven't diminished much, it's minor. At the same time, I always took very good care of the battery (the bike was stored indoors 99% of the time in winter overnight, always in the shade in summer, I took the battery indoors on cold days when going to work.). When it was cold (-5 Celsius let's say), I'd lose about 10%-15% of range compared to summer. Sorry to not be so precise, but I'd say try to not keep the battery out in the cold overnight and you shouldn't have any issues!

    • @ricokowalski4403
      @ricokowalski4403 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gregswiatek515
      Well, I'd guess Niu includes decent batteries, the quality seems good, generally, so I guess the batteries should last a bit in the long run. Taking the battery inside in the wintertime seems a little bit of a hassle, then again, I wouldn't be using the scooter every day when it's cold outside.
      Parking in the shade in the summertime should be possible.
      I find the question very interesting… How long do these batteries last we're being sold right now in all those new EVs?!? After all, they are the expensive part in those vehicles.
      Looking forward to some studies the next few years.
      So, no real notable capacity loss, right?🙂
      Sounds good!

      Yes, you can change the ECU (electronic control unit). I know some people who did, the top speed changed from 45 km/h to 65 km/h. They bought it in china on the site "taobao" for less than 100$. I don't have a specific link sorry, but if you go for this I'd suggest to go with a seller who has good reviews (if you're confident to do it yourself), or to go through someone who does those kind of modifications to be sure all goes well and without risks. The ECU is located under the seat, do you have to remove, unplug the battery, unplug all the cables from the ECU (battery cables, motor cables etc. Again, I never did it myself so I don't know if there are any other specific steps, better to find someone who has experience with this in your area. I think it's still a much better deal to get a N1S and change the electric control unit. If really needed someone can buy buy a second battery as well and it's still much cheaper than NGT. The motor seems to be smaller 1200w vs 1800w (I might be a bit off on the exact numbers but that's what I found). If I'd be you I'd compare in details the user manuals, and especially find the main parameter that matter ; top speed, range, motor power... if you can find a way to try them both it would be the best, to see the acceleration, comfort, size etc. Good luck !

    What mileage are you getting in a single charge ?

    • @gregswiatek515
      @gregswiatek515  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi ! Well it depends of the speed you go. If you go very slow (20km/h) you get tons of mileage out of the battery, if you go more like 45km/h or above you'll get less. From memory, when I was using it in average of a mix of slow and fast speed, through city riding, I'd say it was about 55km roughly. Hard to say exactly cause I don't have the bike anymore right now. I could get more range if i needed to go to a far point and back, so i was then purposefully going slow to be sure to go and back, and still have a little safety margin in case. The range was a bit lower in winter months, but not so much cause I stored the bike indoors most of the time, or at least taking the battery indoors when not using it on very cold days. Hope this helps.

      Of course it’s underrated. It has a standard 2 year manufacturer warranty on the bike and here in the U.K. , bought through a NIU flagship store, it’s 3 years warranty on the battery. 600 charge cycles roughly 25k miles or even 5 years.

    What about shock absorbers?

    • @gregswiatek515
      @gregswiatek515  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are fine - for the usage and the speed of the bike they work well, but don't expect high quality there. You will still feel the bumps and cracks on the roads - it's not amazing if you're riding on rough terrain. And of course they are not adjustable like on higher-end motorcycles (damper, rebound, etc).

      @@axel9546 yes I did. The U series came after the N series so they felt a bit "newer" as they had a few more modern features (for example, no need to put the key in the scooter to drive it, proximity was enough). But the one I tired was slower and has less range than the N series so I preferred the N. Good luck !

Niu is pretty much the most expensive ebike brand here and one of the only one that experts to Europe so it seems like their quality standards are higher (there are for example paint marks on all the fasteners on Niu Bikes after they do torquing etc)... The other brand that started to go into ebikes and exports is Xiaomi (Known as Mi in europe) - but I didn't get the chance get to try their bikes.
