Very nice. A lot of people will just take a water snake from the wild and toss it in an aquarium with nothing but water. Very good too see somebody who gives them an appropriate enclosure! Would love an update on them.
@@Trellemania Where did you get the glass to separate the substrate from the water? I'm getting a water snake soon but I want to set up a bio active enclosure like this. I cant find glass dividers anywhere!
@@twinarchangelsgaming3877 I used glass that you can buy from Lowes and they cut it for you at the specific measurements you request. Hope it goes well!
Awesome set up man.. the only thing im missing is a care guide for these cute little guys.. any chance you're working on one? Amazing set up, would love to do the same for my future water snake!
Like a easy care to where it's not super hard. Also I moved to NC so do you know by any chance if they sale snakes that don't eat mice and how much it will be.
Andre Vidal the ones I specified down below are a bit hard to find being sold but super easy to find by streams or lakes so maybe check your local craigslist or facebook groups :)
Do you still have these snakes? Who was the breeder? I'm looking for of the red/ orange phase. I haven't seen any as light as yours they are nice looking animals!
Very cool video wondering how you keep the snake from getting to the filter and how often do you have to clean the water thinking about making something similar myself
He actually sleeps in the filter at night and loves to use it as hiding LMAO but he is never harmed because I made a sponge layer at the bottom of the filter to keep him from the motor. I do 25% water change every 2 weeks :) Hope it goes well!
What kinda fish do you use? How do you maintain the temp of the water with a heat lamp above ? I definitely want to something simialar im thinking of makin a bioactive paludarium with a king snake🤙 im not sure that they swim but i bet if i got some fish it'll reach into the water if nothing else
The water temp is just my room temp, these snakes can handle drops in water temp. Heat lamp warms the land side. He eats many types of fish including tilapia
There is a timer on my wall that turns off the basking lights at night. He is in a reptile room where ambient temps are similar to wild night temps. They cool down at night in the wild and so does he 😊
@@Trellemania Thanks! I just got a banded water snake and she is also in a bioactive tank. I realized I wasn't sure if she'd bask at night and I didn't want her to get too cold. The water in her tank is heated also though and I live in Florida so she should be fine at night.
The Meep Its no required in the sense that they can live without that much water but it does simulate their natural environment a bit more than having a lil water dish. They really like to swim and submerge from what I’ve noticed. Good Luck!!
Andre Vidal there are good options out there 😊 Garter snakes, Ribbon snakes, water snakes all can get by without mice on fish and earthworms. You can do eastern hognose snakes too if you have a steady supply of toads/frogs as thats their main diet. Research and you will find lots of choices, good luck!
Amazing! I just got my water snake today! Would you build that cage for somebody? If so what would be the price? I have him in a ok setup it's with my job i don't have the time to do a big cage like this.
Hello my ball python got killed by a lawn mower... My mom does not want another snake so she got me a leapard gecko... and I guess... I couldn't care for it better then her so I just gave it to her and I'm planning on getting a snake that don't eat mice because my mom is scared of mice, but.
You should be proud of this man, I’m interested in how it grew out. Sadly too many people think they’re fish and keep them in 95% water...
Thank you! I’ll be doing an update vid soon!
this video deserves more likes
Thanks for watching 😁

Thank you so much! I will be doing an update soon, I just need to get a few more clips 😊
is it harm if people do that?
Great setup, I’m trying to do something similar for my new midland land water snake I have coming in.
MD Serpents thank you so much!! Let me know how your new set up goes!

I'm loving this setup! It's so great to see people who know how to care for these awesome reptiles!
Thank you so much! I try 😊
Thanks for sharing this! This is awesome! Snakey boi looks adorable!

Im wanting to do something like that. I love these snakes they're pretty cool

Fish don't come up on land
Really a beautiful set up
Thank you! And thanks for watching 😊
Baby snakes so cute very nice bio setup❤😊
FURRY GOHAN ZTV thank you so much!
Nice Job
Thank you!
I would have personally gotten a larger aquarium so that he could have more land space as well, but other wise, it looks great!
Gabbie Ski as a matter of fact he is getting an upgrade soon for this reason 😊

Could I do a similar setup for a Ribbon Snake? Since many people feed them fish.
mudkip96 This type of setup would probably work really well with Ribbon and Garter snakes as well :)
beautiful
Thank you!!
I would like to see a video of a tank setup
Kris Leighton I will be updating this soon with a follow up video :)
Do you still have these snakes? Who was the breeder? I'm looking for of the red/ orange phase. I haven't seen any as light as yours they are nice looking animals!
He came from a local person who got it from a breeder in Sarasota but im not sure who exactly. Good luck and thanks for watching
Hey amazing setup quick question what size us the tank?
29 Gal 😊
Can i have a bunch of fishes on the tank at the same time? The snake can eat more than It should and die or something Else ?
Its always possible for cohabitation to occur. I recommend fast small fish if thats what you want, like Zebra Danios :)

What would I feed my baby water snake it’s still a juvenile
I love to see that snake swim
He is a lil crazy guy!
What is the type of water snake you have
Florida Mangrove Water Snake- Nerodia clarkii
What type of water snake is that snake🐍
What Size Tank is That
KS QUAD25 This is a 20 Gal tall :)
Can you do a tutorial on how you did this?
Working on one :)
@@Trellemania LMAOOOOO A YEAR LATER🤣🤣🤣🤣 what a legend
I've got a northern water snake, is it okay to keep them in a 50 gallon with half sand and half cypress mulch?
50 gallon will work for sure! As long as they have lots of room to swim you have ample land area substrates to use :)
I love it
Thank you!
I watched it, now I'm just adding a comment later.
EVERYBODY likes this video!
I have no idea why this is my most popular video but I am happy people like it :)
How often do you feed them
Danny’s food review ! He eats a few times a week depending on prey item offered :)
I have a question. Is it necessary to have hat much water for a water snake or no? I'm looking into one (and it will be my first snake)

Depending on the type of snake you get
What would be a nice easy snake to take care of that does not eat mice.

If you can get a supply of eggs an egg eating snake might work.

Thank you! Haha only if you are located in Colorado, otherwise I dont think I can. But I'm sure you can build something just as good eventually :)
I can take a trip up there to grab it? Haha But your welcome!
just caught a dice snake so here I am...
Thanks for watching!
By the way I loved in Tampa Florida for all my life so that's why I was able to get my baby so yeah Sorry for the spams lol
