As an American, I don't think I've _ever_ seen the word "CAREFUL" printed that way on an interstate sign. Certainly not on what appears to be a simple overpass. So I'm going to say that the "Arefu" connection was 100% intentional, and that the CAREFUL thing was an excuse to work it in. Chalk the abnormal signage up to something beyond the timeline split, I suppose, hah
It took me ages to work out that Arefu came from Careful when I was playing Fallout 3, it was an "oh yeah" moment. Like Andale is Annandale. Poor Brailee though, she is a really sad case.
There's a few examples of that in Fallout. Novac is another in Fallout: New Vegas which is named after the partially ruined No Vacancy sign on the front of the Dino Dee-lite Motel. The Big Empty which is based after the pronunciation of Big MT or Big Mountain. It's always interesting to look at certain names and notice how the locales just misinterpreted what was left behind.
Because there are no interstate signs that lead with CAREFUL like that at the top, as far as I've ever seen. Although it does seem obvious in retrospect regardless
@@ZahnwehZombie Glad I'm not the only one to realize where Novac's name came from. My significant other found the origin towns for the game towns but couldn't find Novac. We played the game one day while discussing it and I pointed out the NO VAC(ancy) sign with led to an "Oh, duh" moment
I love these snippets so much. Fallout 3 is my favorite video game of all time. I wish they'd go though and fix up the bugs and rerelease...maybe add a new area or two. I've played through about 5 times so far and can't seem to want to try anything different. Not sure why. Just love the ambiance, challenge, sounds, music, characters, and play action. Thank you Synonymous for all your hard work!!!
Guns, lockpick, and repair. Always got to have strength at 8 so that when you leave the vault, you take the special training to get strength of nine, get the bobblehead at megaton, and you have 10 strength and thus you have the max carrying capacity right at the start. Got to have intelligence at 9 and immediately run to the Potomac river, swim all the way down at the redwood city, and get the intelligence bobblehead there so that you have 10 intelligence and have the max number of skill points possible without the educated perk.
Man i really like your channel because the amount of details and stories fallout 3 and nv had... and i a bit bored about fallout 4 channels because yes... fallout 4 its a fantastic game, but i just preffer the new vegas and 3 vibe.... Atmosphere, textures, details, withis worlds looks more post apocalypse grim for me, and as with fallout 2, 1 and tactics you have small enconters and cool weird things. So thanks for take that amount of time making lore videos and detail videos about this game, very much appreciated :3
They will never. A texture update, maaaaybe, but they only did that to milk Skyrim. He's gone on record as saying there's no point in doing the work it would take to remaster one of the older games, because it takes the same amount of work as making a new game, and they'd rather just do that.

Arefu questline is my favorite among sidequests, probably out of nostalgia, as I played this game during the peak of my vampire obsession XD
