Nice car man ...best time to go to the track is early Oct cool night good D/A I'm actually looking to buy a C5 Z06 and I came across your video. Thanks for sharing your car Peace out brother
Thanks man, and I agree air density is still not very ideal yet it’s still 70s in the late evenings, definitely buy a C5 Z06 I have no regrets. I have some other videos that are more informative but thanks for watching I appreciate you!
Beautiful Vette and the engine is top notch. Keep posting and let us know how things go when you get optimum conditions to get times. I also have a C5 Z06, 2003, in Millennium Yellow.
@@Bmstaudy They all had their good points. The 70, 73 and 87 I did all my own work and customized them to my liking which was fun to do. Once I got the 95 it was cool but I also knew that much work was going to be needed that my skills, being old school wasn't going to cut it. Then I spied onto the 2000 and within 24 hours I was driving it home. The broker bought my 95 and I was on my way. Four years later the same broker had my Z for sale and I worked out the same deal. Except this time in 12 hours. I wasn't joking and when I told my wife about the Z all she had to say was, it's your money do what you want to. I did. I'm thinking about my next Vette being a C6 Z06 but not until I'm ready to move on as I'm loving my Z right now.
@DIYKAI yeah I just bought these Mickey Thompson street comps but I should went with some semi slicks or slicks I’m thinking about buying an extra set on rims
I’m an old fart. What is timer thingy you used to measure this? Is it a phone app or some other kind of digital pod you buy that does this? I’d like to try this as I’m far away from any tracks.
It’s called a dragy, very reputable and very accurate to the hundredths of a second. It a little device that connects to your phone via Bluetooth and it tracks pretty much and distance you want according to your preference! I think they’re $150-$170 if I remember right, but I love mine it’s very easy to use
I know it's got more than that in it, my 1987 L98 with a K&N air filter and muffler eliminator want 0-60 in 6 seconds flat! on my 0-60 app which is pretty close to what l98s are rated for. I haven't tried the 0-60 app on my 03 yet, gotta wait until spring, hoping for a 5 flat.
Im running MT Street ET's 305mm x 17R45. 785whp on E85 low boost A&A Supercharger, fully built. Im planning on going to 345mm as i smoke um through 2nd gear running an RPM Level 10 4L60E Automatic Transmission, 3800rpm Circle D torque converter
Manufacturers and car magazines quote 0-60 with 1 foot rollout. That significantly drops their 0-60 times. 4.6 is closer to 4.3 with 1-foot rollout. The Dragy history will tell you 0-60 with 1 foot rollout, but you’ll have to look for it. But yes, traction is your main problem.
@@texsquirrel213 you’re right I meant to mention that in the video but it completely slipped my mind. Dragy said 4.36, I was thinking about doing a video like this in the spring or fall next year when the DA is substantially better, as I do believe this car is capable of getting deep into the threes. Thanks for watching, and commenting👍🏻
Those mp112 blowers run out of breath after 5500… I had a 520whp 03 Zo6 with 3.2 pulley… the top end lacks compared to a centrifugal blower… lots of heat soak too with the mp112 even with intercooler… good for street instant torque but lacks top end.
@@nitrousstang I agree I made a video about the top 5 c5 mods and mentioned I would go with a pro charger over this, as this is pretty outdated by today’s standards.Did you get any speed measurements on your car like 0-60 or 1/4 mile?

I was going to go the c6z route but as young as I am it wasn’t the best decision
Awesome car and video - are you running stock rear gears? I have a H/C 99 FRC and run 3:90, it made a huge difference off the line.
