I remember my mom would get mad at me and get my music tape cassettes and put all my tapes in the trunk of her car.An I will be coming home from high school where is all my tapes and she'll say you're grounded you're not listening to that kind of music lol but luckily my dad was into rock and roll I will receive my tape cassettes back on the weekend.
Altars of Madness is the best Morbid Angel album and one of the best metal albums ever made. I listen to Schizophrenia more now because I've listened to Beneath and Arise too often but Beneath is still brilliant. I met Andreas after a gig here and he signed my copy of Schizophrenia, got a bass pick from Paulo. All of them are cool to talk to.
Overkill: The Years of Decay is my album of the year. Couple of other favorites not mentioned: Amon - Sacrificial Armoured Angel - Wings of Death Infected - Dark Century Nuclear Assault - Handle With Care Paradox - Heresy
Did I miss it or did really nobody mention Running Wild-Death or Glory and Savatage-Gutter Ballet? I am suprised. I think 89 was a great year for debut albums. Most of these bands are still going strong today: Annihilator-Alice in Hell, Axxis-Kingdom of the Night, Axel Rudi Pell-Wild Obsession, Pink Cream 69-selftitled, Stratovarius-Fright Night. Always love to see you fine gentlemen discussing years in metal. Cheers 🤟
Repulsion's Horrified originally came out as their "Slaughter of the Innocent" demo in 1986. Then Jeff and Bill from Carcass reissued it with the new cover art and title in 1989 on Necrosis Records (their own sub-label of Earache).
