Great show gents, good coverage of classics, and connoisseur's choices. Delighted to see Laz pull the Loudness because he's spot on about those early albums! I'm a big fan of 80s Japanese metal, but the floodgates didn't open for a couple of years. I wanted to shout out the first 44 Magnum album, but it was 83...
Cool episode. I was born in December ‘82. Nice shout out to Wild Dogs - Reign of terror. So underrated. I try to convert my friends to that record with zero results. Concerning Manowar, I hear a lot of Riot on Battle hymns.
Did Aaron buy Metal Massacre 1 at Record Surplus? That store used to be near the border of West LA and Santa Monica. I think he mentioned that store before.
Rapid Tears from Canada released their debut in 1982! Other than that, these bands had at least one demo out by 1982: Aceium, Exciter, Kraken, Reckless, Sacred Blade, Sye, and Witchkiller. Who knows how well those were circulated. There is also a single by a guy named Norman Lang from 1982, with the tracks "Can't Find the Answer" b/w " You Should Have Seen" that is considered Heavy Metal/Hard Rock. So that is basically all that Canada was doing on the strictly Metal front in 1982 (other than Breaker and Anvil). Maybe if the recently discovered/released Genghis Khan album had come out when it was supposed to, it would have been in 1982 (seeing as that material was allegedly recorded in 1981).
I was born in 79 so it's all still retro to me, but the only metal-esque music that really speaks to me from this era is a German band called Warning, that made 2 albums: Electric Eyes and a self titled one. Insanely ahead of it's time dark synthwave from like 82-83. They're like the equivalent of what Dodheimsgard is now. 2 man group like Daft Punk that wore masks and sadly they're both dead now (2004 and 2015 respectively). But just looking through my collection, all I have from that year is King Crimson, Peter Gabriel, and the Conan the Barbarian soundtrack lol. Scream Bloody Gore from 1987 is the earliest metal album I own. I honestly don't think metal was in a great place until the early 90s but everyone's got a different set of tastes.
What, no DM? What, no Thrash? What, no BM? Hey, wait a minute - there was ''some'' BM in 1982, or at least one album and an ep. One in England , the other in Denmark. And Sodom did a demo ''almost quite there'' (or beyond). 1982 carries the egg of the serpent for Metal.
Caught this on the re-run, good show fellas.
Dwayne pulling Loudness is perfect, as their first few albums are so overlooked. Loudness spear-headed Metal for all of Japan.
Disillusion is a masterpiece.

Great guest and great episode
Great content as always and so many classics shown which I need to give a spin as soon as I finish unpacking my cds after my recent house move!!
Took me a little while to get through this one & a little behind with actually watching it. Great stream. Awesome selections. Excellent topic.

Enjoyed the side track about old toys! True statement about being able to tell near about someone’s age by the toys they were into.
Great fun, always enjoy those episodes live, best community on YT!
Shout Out to the Metal Theologian🤘

Morning I'm here

I was bring it
I wasn't even alive in 1982. Not even a thought.
I might have been into Michael Jackson. I was only four years old.
Aaron🤮🤮what a vinyl snob…
