I like Gregg.. I think he brings a comforting voice to the chefs when things don’t go their way. I really like Monica… She is what makes the series something I want to watch over and over again. She just has a unique way of being highly critical, but without making it personal. Any up and coming chef could learn a lot from her.

highly critical? maybe towards the boys, but towards any of the women/girls she is nothing short of condescending.

That error with using the butchering knife to cut butter on the bloody board is one you wouldnt do even at home. As a customer, I'd find out where she works and avoid it.

Gregg's use of cutlery often horrifies me. The way he just grabs the handle with his fist and shoves it the wrong way around in his gob. On occasion, he does handle his cutlery properly.

    • @m.theresa1385

Gregg isn’t using the cutlery to eat per se, he’s using it to introduce the food to various parts of his mouth all of which taste different foods differently. That may be a reason that he keeps the spoon in his mouth while tasting.

Just a tad harsh of Monica to say Jean-Didier only got through because the other chef tried to poison her. It was true, just a tad harsh 😂
Rumour has it that Monica still hasn’t forgiven her.

    • @MetteC5

Learn to listen and understand: Monica didn't say someone 'tried' to poison her, she said someone 'almost' poisoned her.
I.e., to spell it out for you: Monica didn't imply that there was any intention to poison her. Hence, she obviously bears no grudges. In short, she's mature and professional. I'll let you try to figure out what you are.

I feel bad these kids are so young and they're a nervous wreck. I feel like they need to change the format or do something different in the waiting room. To try to help with these contestants at ease. I live in the u. Yes. So I watch the US version with Gordon Ramsay. And the way that it's formatted is very differently. All the contestants and their family members are in one room. Cheering them on. And I have to say that makes a big difference In their performance. Monica is so impersonable. I would feel uncomfortable and I'm very confident.

Nah, a lot of top high end Kitchens have many chefs performing a working interview cook all 3 egg dishes as part of their trial. In fact both Gordon Ramsey & Marco Pierre White task those chasing a job at their restaurant with cooking 1) Scrambled Eggs 2) Poached Egg & 3) Omlette. Mastering egg dishes really does define a good chef.

Take a look see at Julia Childs method for scrambled eggs in a pan. She beats them (3) with a fork and seasons them then adds almost all to the pan with the melted butter (She reserves about 1/8 cup in her mixing bowl). She then cooks them slowly while stirring with a rubber spatula to form nice soft curds. When almost done she adds the leftover bit of uncooked egg to stop the cooking and make it creamy, and removes the pan from the heat at the same time. They’ll finish cooking in the pan and will be perfectly delicious - soft and creamy. All done in just a few minutes.
