Great videos, Congrats. I know few guys planning to join the Marines. One of them is concerned about the swimming test. Maybe since you're in Naval base there and they have big pool, you can show some samples how to do or survive and passing swimming test. Thank you very much.
Luis Ramos A-school is mostly learning the main knowledge for the basics of the airwing here at Pensacola. More hands on training is at my next school. So I won’t be swimming at all here. The swim test is really easy as long as you’re a decent swimmer. They kinda just toss you in there the first go round but if you fail, they’ll teach you slowly and then you can test again ✊🏻 there were a lot of guys in my platoon that couldn’t swim that passed pretty easily

Funnily I am 444 thumbs up vote. This advice is also applicable to not just the Marines, also other branches, & other armies. Strangely enough other countries military's work in a similar way.
@@simeon_kurosky your advice about spending money wisely really stands out. I spent 5 & a half years in the Canadian Forces, & thinking back, about 1/4 - 1/3 of my "kit" purchases were useful, the rest feels like an unessisarly use of money. My time was 2005-2010. My other add on advice, to potential recruites would be, do some research into the profession they're going into. The military will toss you wherever they feel like, the individual recruit needs to be aware of this.
Biggest expense for someone fresh out of bootcamp, is the uniforms. I can't see wearing only uniform everyday for 12 week; that's why they issue the sets they do, so you can wear them. Eventually you're going to want to have a double set, keeping one just for your inspections I had 4 pair of boots back when they issued black leather boots, and I replaced all my brass buckles and tie clasps, and all my buttons and EGA for the blues, with an anodized set. When you get promoted from Pvt to PFC, or PFC to LCpl, you're going to have to replace all the chevrons on your dress uniforms, and that can be expensive.
Thanks for putting out the video. I finished MEPS this past Thursday and am officially in the DEP now. I've been trying to find out as much information as possible about the Marines so I can prepare accordingly.

I go to meps the 10th. Recruiter says I should ship out to basic late July or early August. So far tips I've picked up for basic are get good socks during your first PX run, Hal’s are pretty good, you will be sick because of germs, don’t touch your face always wash your hands, there this stuff called tiger balm which is good for ackes and pains, don’t touch your balls, don’t go crazy buying a shitload of gear, but get some decent stuff when at the px, when it comes to DI’s I say just listen to every word and do it even if it does not make sense.
Spending time with family as much as possible is good advice. I got sent over seas to Japan for 2 years and didn't get to come home the whole time I was there + and extra 3ish months once I got back state side. So definitely hang out with the people you love as much as possible before you go. Also what did you even buy at the PX in boot? XD I don't remember buying anything except what they told me to.

My tip.... buy a set of clippers and learn how to cut hair before going to boot camp. You will always have money after getting to the fleet if you have this skill.

I gained 20-30 pounds of muscle there by just focusing on the gym after school and eating at the chow hall. Make sure the majority of the time you stay eating at the chow hall. Your wallet will approve. Weight lifting helped me improve my pull ups by over 10 and now I do 23 so don’t think it can’t help. Not sure what to do: son went to boot camp and did the first week of receiving then when it was time for them to get their platoons they realized they had lost my sons papers and couldnt verify who he was. Now hws being held there and cant participate but also cant go home. Im so upset hes 17 and its like hes being held in prison or something just because someone lost his things. Who can i call or ehat can i do to fix this for him?
Don't get a haircut, because they will still cut your hair. I had real low cut fade, pretty much bald head. The barber still scraped my scalp with those dam hair clippers. My hair never grew back, I been bald headed ever since. Semper Fi, devil dog!
This is weird to me because when I went through boot camp in 1969 they gave you everything from blankets to a toothbrush. Do you have to buy this stuff now? Some guys bought cigarettes but I don't remember anything else being available or even allowed in boot camp but what they gave you. Oh and as a E-1 we were paid $123.00 a month and when I got out as an E-3 I was paid $216.30 a month. A fellow Marine I met later said he made E-5 and he only made $313.80 a month. Of course combat pay was only $83 a month. Of course the value of the dollar was less so I guess it was appropriate pay for then but you guys are making way more now.
lex S don’t bring a ton of stuff, but just the small mains things you think you’ll need for school. Like you’re headphones, clothes, etc just so you don’t have to buy too much near stuff
Can i ask? Is a marines can still talk or videocall their loveones or friends when at work or in camp? Or it is prohibited to call on video?when does they the time can call?

Do a video when you get your PFC stripe pinned on. I couldn’t move my arms for two days.
mysterioso 100 haha!
Family life? I have a wife and kid and that is my biggest fear with the marine core, missing my daughter's first years
My tip.... buy a set of clippers and learn how to cut hair before going to boot camp. You will always have money after getting to the fleet if you have this skill.
Thank you for your service!
Brother....I don’t know why this popped up on my recommendations but just let me tell you this. If ANYONE finds this channel when you get to the fleet you are going to get the absolute piss Hazed out of you. Keep doing what you’re doing I don’t want to bash but keep it on the DL with your team leaders and shit
Nah it’s already been found by most of the corps. We have their pictures up in the brix Incase any of em get sent here. They are already fucked.
Austin Ainsworth hahaha as it should be
Marshall Karl hey brother, I’ve had NCOs and officers message me about the videos and have said they like the concept. I’m sure they’ll show up in the fleet. I’m aware of that. Don’t mean to cause problems or conflict 👌🏼
Simeon Kurosky I don’t doubt that for a second and it’s highly dependent on your unit/MOS too. Just saying it’s very likely that you’ll get shit for it
Marshall Karl thank you for the heads up brother ✊🏻
Can you do a video on like top 5 jobs in marines (like your opinion) I was thinking infantry for myself but I’m not sure
Things about the US Navy..that I'd be working 18-19 hrs a day 7 days a week at times.
Thanks for this video appreciate it I’m planning on joining just gonna go to college for a bit and gotta get a waiver for something I did when I was 12💀
Nintendo DK good luck with that brother! 🔥
I don’t remember those kind of beds in Pensacola. You must be at the Air Crew barracks.
I might get ship this month this video helped me a lot to prepare and for that I shall thank u
What’s your mos? I’m going in as a aviation mechanic and ship out September 8th I just got my second Referal so I’m really looking forward to that pfc
Aidan Ebner hey Aidan, that’s good brother! I’m aviation Ordnance ✊🏻🔥
was a 6092 make sure you get get your journeyman's when you are in because nobody in the civilian world gives a shit about your mos schooling or the years of experience after you get out.
Oh shit you prolly in bootcamp rn w my homie
Same ship date m everything
I've never regretted a day.
6316 here , Penasacola was a good time two years ago, Just don’t be stupid and have common sense when it comes to alcohol. A solid balance between the two wit the 0400 PT already being forced upon will prepare you for a future PFT. Semper fi brother
luis alvarado thank you brother! The chow hall here is amazing haha. A lot of good choices. The gym isn’t open so I’ve done a lot of calisthenics but there’s a couple of dumbbells and barbells that I use to.
Simeon Kurosky Try Little Rock Air Force base that I went to for C school
Simeon Kurosky best chow hall and gym known to man lmao , make sure to strive to be the best in your class and/or hold a position. These reflect on pros and cons. Also may help with picking orders as I got to choose the aircraft I current work on. The KC-130J as an electronics technician
luis alvarado that’s awesome brother! Yeah that helped me a lot. I got first pick as top of the class. I’m going to Eglin Airforce base for F35s ✊🏻
Simeon Kurosky You earned it brother! I was top of my class as well! Currently stationed in Texas. One of the lucky few 😂 Do great things man
Thank you for the information sir
Great vids! Keep it up 👍
Jasmin Contreras thank you Jasmin!
Thanks. I’m shipping tomorrow!
How do promotions work in the USMC Reserves.
You a reservist too?
@@marcelpierre1795 ima be a reservist, im in the delayed entry program.
Hey man real question. Is that bleached hair actually authorized? haha I've never seen a Marine with your hair.
Your aloud to have blonde hair 🙄
@@owencarey1 Yea I just read it. Technically you can unless it's "eccentric," which can be dictated by the command.
This is helping I’m shipping Oct 19
Thanks for all the help!
Adam Packard no problem Adam 🔥
Not sure what to do: son went to boot camp and did the first week of receiving then when it was time for them to get their platoons they realized they had lost my sons papers and couldnt verify who he was. Now hws being held there and cant participate but also cant go home. Im so upset hes 17 and its like hes being held in prison or something just because someone lost his things. Who can i call or ehat can i do to fix this for him?
Good video thanks for the tips
Bobby Smith glad you liked it brother 🙏
Don't get a haircut, because they will still cut your hair. I had real low cut fade, pretty much bald head. The barber still scraped my scalp with those dam hair clippers. My hair never grew back, I been bald headed ever since. Semper Fi, devil dog!
My BOIII DOINGGREAT
Thanks brother 🔥🔥
What if I already wear USMC stuff and other military related t shirts before boot camp
Good video ! Keep up the good work man I LOVE the content !
Mauricio Rojas you’re the best brother 🙏
If u are in the army and later want to join the marines can they accept u with the rank from other branch?
Just swore in 28 years old shipping out on the May 30th
How to improve pull-ups, crunches, and running?
This guy looks like younger version of homelander.
Have you made any videos regarding the asvab and tips in taking that?
Morgan Cooper-Drew haven’t made on specifically on that, but I will 😀
Are you wearing your woodland cammies in this vid?
lex S haha yes these are woodlands
Woodland cammies are worn year round now, so when do you wear the desert ones?
@@jasonbrown3925 when you get deployed to a sandy area
You e-1? or did you take of the chevrons for the purpose of the video. great vids btw
On leave, are you packing your clothes up, and really everything you need/want for MCT and school house?
lex S don’t bring a ton of stuff, but just the small mains things you think you’ll need for school. Like you’re headphones, clothes, etc just so you don’t have to buy too much near stuff
Hey man what’s the waiting time for the 3rd asvab test u know
Can i ask? Is a marines can still talk or videocall their loveones or friends when at work or in camp? Or it is prohibited to call on video?when does they the time can call?
Happy Sunday bro!
Have a blessed day brother ✊🏻
Been in for 2 years now and fuck this I want out already lmao
