Great video Jen. It’s nice to see the Wolverhampton Tram extension now open! It’s a great interchange to the train, tram & bus station now.

Trams are cool. I wish there were more than just the Croydon one in the southern half of England.
I was on a geography field trip in early 1999 and for some odd reason, we went to Wolverhampton and I remember them building the original bit you commented on!
Kudos for getting this out so quickly!

Another superb presentation Jen as ever. Using a bit of artistic license there between tram 31 and tram 51! Haha.
31's significance was that it is named "Cyrille Regis,MBE" in honour of the late soccer player who, in his soccer career, mainly in the Midlands, played for Wolverhampton Wanderers.
I also picked up on the incorrect stop announcements.
It was lovely to finally meet you at Wednesbury Parkway.
Keep up the excellent work and keep us all enthralled!

Don't know why but it is the same on our local National Express West Midlands Bus Services X12 and X13, the first stop out of Birmingham city Center they announce as " Bromford Way" where in fact the Stop is in Bromford Road and it took ages to realise they are announcing that the stop is situated opposite an obscure Cul-de-sac called " Bromford Way" that no body realy knows about.

These would have been useful running just a few weeks earlier. The lift on the platform for trains to london was out of order for so many weeks that I could either have them put me in a taxi (that admittedly they would pay for) to the next accessible station the train called at) or (the one I did) get a train from a different platform to Birmingham and split my journey on slower trains. OR have the last train from Euston to Stafford be later so I can catch one there as their lifts are more reliable. The platform 4 lift at Wolverhampton is forever broken! But is the platform that all direct avanti trains leave from! Tram would have meant I didn’t have to wait for a random Birmingham based train that doesn’t leave from platform 4!

I look forward to riding that section, after years of photographing Pipers Row to Wolverhampton Station. Started in 2017 finished in 2023. And they stopped until the new Wolverhampton Station building was completed. Maybe years before the Eastside Extension opens. Tracks in Digbeth in parts, and lower Bull Street, but not yet in Eastside near HS2. Hopefully the Dudley line opens soon.

I used to go to Wolverhampton University in from 1997 to 2000 and was looking at the works on the Bilston Road when passing on the train - Wolvo looks very different these days to back then! Even the station - 3 through platforms, 2 bay and sidings. I believe the Stafford facing sidings have gone and another through platform is on top of the sidings. Seems like yeasterday, over half my bloody life ago!!

When I visited Birmingham I found the tram prices significantly expensive. Metrolink a lot cheaper and comfortable. I believe it cost me £7.60 for an all day ticket on WMM compared to £2.40 for all zones all day on Metrolink
