- Sky Lanterns are very popular in Taiwan. But most people are NOT AWARE of the DANGERS it could cause. 😱😭😭

I think the makers of this video forgot that Sky Lanterns are biodegradeable? And fairly quickly too. I doubt you'll hear of Sky Lanterns causing a fire since the fuel cell burns out before it ever reaches the ground.
Well you are right but because of the very reasons they are illegal in many countries for example in Germany where such a lantern actually caused a fire in a zoo last year where a chimpanzee died in it. Sadly the firework ban campaign gets more attraction for the wrong reasons.
Look at my channel, you will see the evidence that I am a firework lover but Im definitely not a friend of those lanterns... The tradition on the other side need to be saved!
Wait until after it rains and send the lanterns up while the ground is still wet. A fire will be very unlikely after it rains

@ There's no point saving a tradition that causes harm to others. If my house catches fire I'd literally shove the lantern up in the a**s of the lantern owner and light a fire to make him feel how it feels. Dumb people, don't have brain who play with fire like that.

I learned the uneducated folk come see these videos and cry wolf .... Whining about how this would damage the environment.... considereing all evidence was presented to prevent such ....

Perhaps its bad but through out the world that trashed the ocean polluted the rivers and nearly killing alot of fish there for making people hungry, here in asia its a common thing and its probably our problem. If you lived somewhere in asia your maybe familiar to the word poverty, and this insane thing that people dont really have money to feed them self's or there families they probably die from hunger or some diseases.
I just wanted to point out that sky lanterns are nothing compared to pollution and world hunger.

Hmmmm. . .. that's why lanterns are designed to burn out properly after a period of time, and as far as the litter goes, its recycled biodegradable paper, so not really that bad for the environment. . . . I'd be more concerned with flying these things where they could drift over an airport or into flight paths to be fair!
Hmmmmmm McDonalds wrappers and bags are recycled paper and biodegradable, still trash.
We can:
Make lanterns biodegradable
Fly them only on a remote island surrounded by water
Make the fuel smaller to limit the distance it can travel
Or you know what just make them out of fish flakes and release it over the ocean
I just want to experience flying one...

These lanterns caused a fire in a building located in the center of my city, over 200 firefighters had to work togheter to put it off
Although they looked really pretty, its dangerous

They go into outer space and end up orbiting the earth crashing into satellites.
I fly them as weather conditions permit all winter long.

Flying sky lanterns in good weather is safe...and I think no one can fly it without the permission of weather. Harmful? I think plastic is more dangerous than paper made sky lanterns.
Aren’t the balloons supposed to eventually catch fire while aloft so they burn to a crisp before hitting the ground?
Why send a lantern to the heavens when you can directly pray to the one who created them.

It needs a 4in. fireproof fabric chimney apparatus around the flame to keep the Flames away from the paper balloon.

Yeah... Sky lantern is dangerous in a way but,it could cuase fire if the forest is wet.. Only.. So there is no actual footage of fire cuasing by lanterns

None of our footage showed any actual dangerous cause by these lanterns, it only proves that they come down pretty harmless once the expanded the little fuel they had to start. Obviously people sholdn't been starting these with buildings or other structure close by where they can catch on, judging by what you provide.

As somebody else pointed out, and as one can see just by looking at the photos in the article that you linked to, the area where the fire took place was densely forested. To release a sky lantern there is not at all the same thing as releasing it in an open field.
I only want to experience by flying 2 of that and I'm in village type area
