      @@s.jdutta4025 you're right but that can only be done when these planes start flying internationally. This is a completely new aircraft, one for which pilots need to train and obtain hours of flying so that they can be certified to fly the plane out of the country. Until then, they have to practice flying the aircraft only domestically.

    Whats the use of spending such an amount on a 350 and using it for 50 minute flights? This plane should be used for 15-16 hour flights.

    • @flightTribune
      @flightTribune  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +31

      You are right, using an A350 for a 50min flight doesn't make sense.
      But it is the norm that when a new aircraft type enters the fleet, it is not directly sent for international operations. The cockpit crew needs to operate the flight domestically to gain some experience with the plane and familiarise themselves with it.
      Air India put their first A350, VT-JRA into commercial service on January 22, 2024. And as we speak today on May 1st Air India A350 will be making its appearance on international route for the first time, will be operating as AI995/996 and will depart from Delhi daily at 20:45 and arrive at the Dubai International Airport at 22.45. More routes possibly as far as SFO will commence soon using the 6 new A350s

      Interesting observation. While I didn't notice the landing being notably heavy, I think the rattling sound might be coming from the toilet. th-cam.com/video/elkHT1Ef6AE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=MdcPlQOMxB1gsxpo&t=571
      It was making excessive noise during taxiing too.

    This looks so sick! Ive been a frequent flyer of Air India and travel on their DXB-BOM very much. Mostly the airplanes are A320s or A320neos but for a couple of time ive sat on their B787s which were awesome except the IFE of course very laggy and non responsive. Great thing i had downloaded movies on my phone. This time wuen i travel im going on the A350 and im very excited to see the new IFEs and i hope takeoffs are as smooth as the B787s

      Today, Air India received its 5th Airbus A350-900. When Mr. Wilson mentioned a new aircraft arriving every 6 days, he was including Air India Express too, which is adding three new planes each month. Meanwhile, Air India continues to receive new narrow-body planes in the old livery, with VT-RTZ likely being the last one. The first narrow-body plane featuring the new livery, VT-RTN, should be revealed soon.

    Fairly new to flights. I have only experienced A320 and the neo320. Compared to that this to me looks like a mama bear. Those who have experienced the new 350, how is the takeoff? Specifically g force. As you may have guessed by now, I have always been kind of nervous during takeoff because that force freaks me out a bit😅. Considering 350 is bigger, is the takeoff much more smoother? Again, very new to flights.😅😅.

    • @flightTribune
      @flightTribune  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Welcome to the wonderful world of Aviation!
      You are right, large airplanes have more mass, therefore, accelerate slower. Slower acceleration can result in a lift-off that feels smoother. Although a lot depends on the weather conditions and the runway.

      Yes, I also expected to see the new uniforms. But some people who are familiar with the situation mentioned that the new uniforms have issues, like comfort and the color fading quickly. I guess Air India will probably consider these feedback on the uniforms before making them for all crew members.

    • @kokofruitkokotree
      @kokofruitkokotree 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks to stupid norms by DGCA, that doesn't allow a first time inducted plane model in the country to fly international. It has to serve 6 months of domestic flights first. IndiGo did a smart thing by ordering their A350s after Air India, as they will not have to go through this, only the airline which inducted a model, which is the 1st to the country has to do such norms. IndiGo might've saved a lot as such short routes for widebodies cost the airline much.

    The new Air India livery designed by Tasneem Ali seems to deliberately avoid anything that would say INDIA for India's so-called flag carrier. The old red chakra design on the tail instantly said INDIA like other flag carriers -- Alitalia, Air France, Qantas, British Aiways, American Airlines, Singapore Airlines, China Airlines, Garuda etc. This is no longer true for Air India, sadly.

      True, Air India really has a lot of work to just keep up with the big airlines from the Middle East. Adding new planes and overhauling the existing ones is just the beginning.
      Since Air India hasn't used A350s before, they'll start by using them on domestic flights to train their crew. It's been reported that Air India's first international flight with an A350 will be from Delhi to Dubai starting May 1. Hopefully, there will be more international routes soon.
