@@TheGallantGoblin I got my mini as soon as it was available in Australia and painted it right away. So I don't have a picture of the mini unpainted as a "before" picture. Every epic encounter mini I have is either fully painted or part way through.
I LOVE Epic Encounters. Not only are the figures pretty and very detailed but the hooks included are intense and fun. Looking forward for their local encounters
I totally agree with the dark maps. I also wouldn't mind throwing a few bucks more in for a wet/dry erase capable map (like the flip mats Paizo does), that not only allows you to write temporarily on the maps, but it makes them feel like they'll stand up to me forgetting them in my bag longer. (or the accidental spilled drink) Either way, I've never been disappointed by an epic encounter mini, and this one looks like it will follow that. I just need to get myself back to painting. I've been saying that for years, but with these EE boxes starting to stack up, I really need to follow up on it.
I cannot overstate how excited I am for the next Epic Encounters boxes, while I have and love them all (especially the kobold and skeleton ones) you just can't compete with dinosaurs!
I love the mini but I wish the turtle and base were two separate pieces. It's so hard to paint the base or turtle underside as one piece. Love their minis but not a fan of their customer service. My hydra came missing a head but I could not get another part as I lost my receipt. Understandable but I was not even able to get one even if I was to pay for the part. The minis are top notch but now if I buy them I open the box in the store to make sure all parts are there.
Hi, Theo. Can you please explain "Entrant must submit at least two photos clearly depicting themselves or a physical label showing a verifiable social media handle of their choice with the entry" for the painting contest?
It means to take a picture of the mini unpainted and then painted, and include either yourself or your username on a note next to the mini, as a way to validate that you were the one who painted the mini.
Oh man, painting isn't my specialty. I just use matte spray primer. Black for darker minis and white for lighter color ones. You can just get a basic spray can from your local hobby shop. Shouldn't make a huge difference.
Finally an Epic Encounters that isn't weird and out there. Totally solid sculpt of model I can actually use. Feeling very sour about Steam Forged Games after the dumpster fire that was Bardsung, but this set is good enough, I can maybe see past that. Great preview as usual. Thanks!

For me I like to grab a few of these boxes when I'm out of time to prepare for a campaign. Also it's cheap campared to buying the mini itself
