I can’t tell you how much I Love ❤️ this dish! My mother in law’s larb is honestly pretty much the most perfect thing I’ve ever tasted in my life! She uses chicken…It’s absolutely the perfect mix of spice, 🔥 fire, aromatics, salt, and other things I don’t even know about… she’s Hmong, and I’m white. I can’t possibly express how much I LOVE ❤️ this dish when my mother in law makes it. It’s genuinely one of my favorite foods of all time!
I put a little fish sauce in mine & my white hubby said that smells funky. I said who said I was making it for you. & had no shame sharing about the sauce. There's this small Asian store near by & even tho there's not a wide variety of things, somexs they'll be selling little random things to the side. Like dinners & other ingredients, or Chilli jams, wever. But once I found some ground rice, & I can't tell u how happy I was over the small stuff. Bc im too lazy to do certain things myself. Like idek how to make that jerky Chilli paste sauce
@@ahhwe-any7434 Fish sauce is kinda supposed to be funky because its fermented fish with salt lol, but you really don't need too much, like salt it can overpower the dish if you put too much at once
What Doth Life!? It’s funny how there’s 10,000 different magical secrets in asia to make your cock work. Not so funny when they start harvesting endangered animals for their retard cures though
As I look at the Thai recipe videos, my mind wonders back to the smell of Thailand, the friendliness of The Kingdom's people, and the loveliness of the country.
I was living in Sa Kaew province and they used to make it with small, raw chunks of pork. Have you ever heard of this? ...if so, do you know if it is basically the same recipe/ingredients? Thank you!
Larb has always been my favorite. I use the blender or food processor to grind up the roasted sticky rice. I also use the food processor to grind the meat--just watch it so that you don't over grind them. In this way, I can pick the leanness pork or beef I want....love love love! Thanks Mark!
Hey Siri, thanks for sharing, glad to hear you make this and love it too. Thanks for the suggestions. Definitely for large portions, the food processor really helps!
I remember the first time I tasted Larb Moo, it was after a Kayaking session around Shark bay on Koh Tao.. It was just so delicious! It was sealed in my memory as one of those truly awesome food moments.. I had never tasted something like that before - Amazing dish
I made this tonight it was crazy good thank you so much for posting these videos. one of the good things about this dish is you burn all your calories grounding the rice.
I'm craving to eat that salad. I'm a big fan thai food i miss those days when i was working in thai restaurant. I learn a lot to cook thai food specially phad thai goongsod. Som tam pla. Tom yum talay. Talay phad char. Phad kee mao nuea. And my favorite Dessert TAKO. ...
used your recipe but added garlic (quite a lot) , coriander, asian cabbage for the wrapping and it was heavenly filling and delicious for a hot summer feel day in saigon.
This has always been my favorite dish at Thai restaurants. But in my area it can be hard to find. Now I know how to make it myself. It came out sooooo good - I can't thank you enough!!!
One of the best Lao dishes ever. just like if you make sushi in a different country it is still Japanese cuisine. just like you can make Lao laap in different country it is still lao cuisine. the confusion occurred when it was first introduced to the u.s. in thai restaurants. kind of how some American restaurants have tacos on the menu.
บักมาก(มาร์ค) กินแซ่บตลอด ใส่พริกแต่ละที อายเลยเรา The way you put chili into dishes is quite scary (as I'm a Thai.). Im my opinion, you are the most awesome foreigner who can eat Thai spicy dishes pretty well. Maybe you eat spicier than I am. Good job, man! lol
Thanks for posting Mark. We have been in Bangkok 3 months ago and have eaten this Thai Larb in weekend market ( thanks to your recommendation 10 things to visit Bangkok). I love this Thai Larb very much and nou I know(thanks to you) how to make it. One question : Do you have to eat it on his own or in combination with white rice or so? Please let me know. I like watching your video very much and I always watch it with a smile . Thanks!
Hey, great to hear from you, thank you for watching. Most of the time, larb will be eaten along with other dishes like green papaya salad, and sticky rice, but you can also eat with white rice - that's good too. Enjoy!
Mark Wiens Thanks again Mark. I'm going to make it my self very soon. We are planning to go to Thailand this June again (2 days Bangkok and 9 days Hua Hin). Is it already save in Bangkok (no demonstration or something like that) ? Greetings from Holland. And many thanks for your posting nice nice nice video's
Thank you for the recipe and video. I made this dish with ground chicken I minced (chicken thighs on sale) in my food processor at home. It came perfectly! 👌
This is one of my faves! Looks positively drool-worthy! Love your presentation too with the food cart. Thanks for the vid, and pls keep 'em coming! I just wish the ingredients are as easy to find overseas!
I love all your VDO , this make me miss home so bad . Canada is supper cold rite now can't wait to visit Thailand. All your foods look soooooo good thanks for showing us your awesomeness lol.
Just made this and it's pretty spot on! I would say though: regular rice, toasted and ground, tastes the same. Use Thai basil, NOT sweet basil, it's not even close to tasting the same. More fish sauce, lime and sugar (trust me) and some MSG or Knorr chicken powder.
Pork and lamb larb have become one of my regular dishes I cook at home. I use a lot more nuoc mam than here so I’ll try and reduce see what happens. Nice one young Mark 😉
Just stumbled upon your site as I was looking for an authentic larb recipe, and you won my respect (even though you’re not Thai😂)...and subscription just from the way you made the dish.👍👍 Wished you are doing more stuff here right now! 😄
