  • The wave of fire tragedies sweeping through Kenyan schools has left many puzzled as to what exactly could be going on in schools and what can be done to contain the situation. Judy Kosgei revisits one of the worst school fire tragedies in the country's history, as she visits Kyanguli Memorial Secondary School where 67 boys were burnt to death in their sleep in an alleged arson attack in 2001. Now, although to date no one has been convicted for the crime, the Kyanguli school community appears to have learnt its lesson, albeit the hard way.
