“marvel ain’t got sh*t on me, i’ve been doing the multiverse stuff since forever.” girl same, i literally outlined an entire multiverse storyline that connects and winds through multiple books/series and marvel comes out of nowhere and yanks it out of my hands 💀

This is such a great break down. I’ve always been so curious about your series and I love to hear you talk about it! It’s clearly very important to you and as a fellow neurodivergent writer, I totally understand the special interest and how some writing just takes on a life of its own and cements itself in your head and heart for life.
There is something so unhinged about 13 year old writers thou haha I love it. I wrote a half a book in 8 days when I was 13 and now I can barely write a paragraph in that amount of time😫

Thank you!! Also wow!! Eight days!! 13 year old writers are next level lol!

All of Fostered Series sounds so interesting and awesome. I've been writing book 1 of my Contemporary Suspense Series for 4 years because it has gone through SO MUCH development and to hear how much you're proud of your books, motivates me that maybe one day I'll look back and be proud too.
And if I saw Moth Work on the shelves? I would literally get that book signed and have it under my pillow to read every night. 😊😊❤❤

I love hearing about Fostered and it’s spin-off’s every time you talk about them! It’s so hard to decide but I’d love to read Moth Work (it’s log line about the dead man is just fantastic!) or Seventh Virtue as the magic system/magical houses sounds incredibly unique and fun.
As for fantasy recommendations, some easy ones to get into the genre that I’ve enjoyed are: Master of One by Jaida Jones/Dani Bennett (Queer YA), The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater (More magical realism, but it’s character driven and has great ~Vibes~, also YA), Graceling by Kristin Cashore (YA, it is part of a series but they’re all standalones) and In a Garden Burning Gold by Rory Power (Adult, also has twins as the MC - which I think you’d like since you are a twin and I recall you having a YA Contemporary project about twins at one point).
As always, I loved this video :)

So happy you enjoyed! Also thank you for the recs-I’ve been meaning to read some of these! I also LOVE the Graceling books, I think they’re some of the only fantasy ive read! Reread them so many times lol so this is a reminder to give them another go!

Ahh, this is wonderful! It’s really impressive how you started writing a series like this so young, even if you’re never going to publish it. I never knew about the Moth Work short stories or the novellas. How cool! I think I would like to see Seventh Virtue the most as I read and write mostly YA and Adult Fantasy! Although I have written some literary fiction short stories.
I’m many years older than you, but about 10 years ago, my bestie and I co-wrote a TV pilot together. It’s a one-hour supernatural drama and it was right before I went to do my MFA in Screenwriting and develop my voice as a writer. We wanted to adapt the pilot into a series of novels because we loved the story and characters. We never did, but I kept writing in that world. I wrote about 50+ (maybe 100, I lost count) short stories about the characters/universe and it’s some canon and some AU. I also wrote 3 finished novellas (and several more unfinished novellas) that are AU. I’ve revised 2 of them and tried to get them published, but no luck yet. But just bringing it up because it reminds me of your Fostered series. 🥰
YA Fantasy recs: ONE FOR ALL by Lillie Lainoff (very biased because she is my friend and critique partner, lol), HOTEL MAGNIFIQUE by Emily J. Taylor, THE BONE SPINDLE by Leslie Vedder, THE DEVOURING GRAY duology and THE DROWNING SUMMER by Christine Lynn Herman, LEGENDBORN by Tracy Deonn, BLOOD HEIR trilogy by Amelie Wen Zhao, and DAUGHTER OF THE BONE FOREST by Jasmine Skye (another AuthorTuber and a friend of mine; her book comes out in Winter 2024)
Corinne Duyvis has also written several YA books with autistic protagonists.
Adult SFF: HER BODY AND OTHER PARTIES by Carmen Maria Machado and WHAT IT MEANS WHEN A MAN FALLS FROM THE SKY (both short story collections) - I will probably leave you a Tumblr message with more, but that’s all for now! Hope this is helpful!

Thank you for the comment Lara!! I think it’s so cool that you were able to write so much from the same world-wow!! So impressive :) thank you so much for the recs - I’ve actually read What it Means When a Man Falls From the Sky but it was many years ago and I’d love to read it again now! I remember liking those stories a lot :)) Going to add your other recs to my list, much much appreciated!

@@rachelwritesbooks You’re welcome! I hope you enjoy my recs! I’m always down to give book recs! So glad you are pursuing Seventh Virtue. I love fantasy so much. If you ever write and publish Seventh Virtue related short stories, I would DEFINITELY read them! 😍🥰
