Hope y'all are just excited about this new episode as I am! Pleaseeee send some love to Sarah who lovingly edited this episode & really did most of the behind the scenes work (including outlining the episode and all our social stuff). This is her first time at it, so I'm super proud of her! Lmk what y'all think! Link to stream on Spotify is in the description!
Great episode to listen while walk/writing at the gym. Eerily this dropped at a perfect time as I've gotten into the habit of injecting horror vibes in stories that aren't themselves horror, and just seeing what happens for the heck of it!
Oh my, the atmospheric twist in the second excerpt! Yeah! I gasped! I love your magnifying glass analogy - a very helpful way to think about atmosphere! Great to hear the excerpts, I could see how the writing was doing the magnifying glass thing. It seems like they flow into each other, but what are your thoughts on the difference between tone and atmosphere?
Thank you! Glad the examples were helpful. You’re right, tone and atmosphere are quite linked for me. Tone is the feeling one may get from various colours of language-atmosphere might be a more concrete way to picture how this tailored language might affect a setting, an image.
awww omg this is such an amazing comment, so sorry for my late reply (I read all of them as soon as they come in but lately have been so slow at replying)! LOL I'm actually planning a video where you'll kindddd of get more info on the Fostered plot (you just gotta wait till October)! But I can share more of it, now that I'm older I don't care so much! tysm
It’s very good, this episode. Thanks :-) (Ps. I can immediately recognize Sarah from Rachel-the one, Sarah, is a bit stoic, vocally, and… not UN-emotive, but also not any MORE stable than Rachel, but… Rachel is definitely more… not bubbly but some word adjacent to it; more lilting, colorful.. Sarah is more even in voice.)
