Hi, I get books from a library dumpster( colored in, broken backs, etc.) to use in collages and card making. You can sell even "worthless" books at the flea market. Tina, Al's wife
Guitar hangers. Nice. With bulk purchases like this, I always figure there will be a few good items that make back my money and the rest can go to flea market at a dollar a piece. A few hundred books at a buck a piece adds up!. You will do well.
hey Miss Moose...here's some useless information....That cup with CCCP is Russian ..USSR is spelled CCCP in Cyrillc. CCCP stands for Союз Советских Социалистических Республик....now that you have some tap shoes, can we expect a little tap dancing from you sometime?
Great haul and welcome to the book business ! 🤝 Even if you just will get a few dollars for each item, this will mean big buck for you. I am just looking for the "Red Book of American Coins" (some call it the Bible of U.S. coinage), so if you got one, here´s your first customer ! 😉As a "lady of education" you are able to do some proper research, so your knowledge will be your wealth, as people of wisdom like to say. 🤑So, good luck and huge profits in your new business, which might be a great learning experience for you. 🤞Have a wonderful weekend, and see you on the next one ! Greets from GER, U.
Have you considered selling the books on Amazon? When I was reselling I'd list books on Amazon if they would bring more than $10. Good condition books bring higher prices for the same book. The advantage was also that you list once and no relisting fees, it stays up til sold. EBay prices and Amazon prices can be way different.
Great haul! Looks like the former owner was probably a dancer, maybe on Broadway. He had a real interest in the arts and higher learning. You may want to check the books to see if they were signed by the author to him as gifts as he probably ran in those crowds. The child's book from 1956 may have been his own book from his childhood. The chipped Russian bowl may have been a family piece. He spent a lot of money on packing bags and totes so he really cared about his things. I wonder what happended to him. That hand felted snail and mushroom set should sell for about $45 if you'd like to part with it. I would keep it as it is so cute. I think you will do well on the books. Children's books and books about obscure topics sell well. You can sell them in groups by topic or author to make it easier for you to sell quickly and make more money. You do not have to offer free shipping. It digs into your profit. People will pay for shipping if they really want them item. I pay for shipping all the time. I am excited to hear how it all works out. I hope you will share your selling story.
WOW!! That was so fun to watch Renee❣👍 Your outlook on life and free spirt, plus all of your wisdom, let's me learn things and have fun with you.📖 You make me smile, thanks. I think everybody needs a Taco Stacks 😘
Oh! And junk journal peeps LOVE random book page sets, especially holidays, animals, etc. I split mine up with about 5-6 books worth of pages counted out in sets of 10-20 from the whole pile. It’s fun to get pages from several books. It also takes care of the ones with no covers. With illustrations in kids books you can sell for anywhere from $4-8 per set. Gets your money back quickly!
The 40 green storage totes has some value to someone who wants them. Even at a giveaway price of $2 (Probably worth at least $5)...that would be $80. But those green velcro bag inserts in each box look to be similar to the big IKEA bags. Pretty easy to sell those at the flea market to people who need something to carry their treasures. Easy sell. And they stack flat so won't take up much space. * AND any of the books with lots of pictures would sell at the flea market for crafting or Junk Journals
@@PaperandMoose Renee, I have been known to buy storage units just to get the totes. I think i might have paid $40 for a little 5x5 that was almost empty, half the floor covered. I saw that about half of the dozen 18 gal. totes with lids (Retail $8-$10 )were open and stacked together. Anything I found in any of the totes was just gravy. And maybe 30 min. tops to clean it out.
You’re so cute and funny and your laugh is infectious. Lots of luck with your books! We love books, too. I always find some at the Friends of the Library sales in the Dallas area. There used to be one that was almost a basement full in the Dallas Public Library but I think Covid might have ended that one. It was so much fun!
Any books that aren't worth selling don't recycle them. Donate to your local library. Any books that they don't need, they will sell them at their own book sales. You can just put them in the outside return slot.
Bit arty myself so I liked the art bin. Those felt tips are good quality👍 as was the 1/4 turn angle - valve of course. I agree about the snail in the jar mushroomy cuteness factor - like that too. The rest? One heck of a bibliophile’s scanning Shangrila. Still all good though I believe…😊
Hi Renee. This was an amazing pallet Auction. Well, you might not have found treasure. But you found treasures in books. Let's see what more is in the other pallets. Not bad at all Renee. God Bless you. HUGS 🤗. Mari'a. 🤗🤗🤗❤️❤️❤️👋👋👋👍👍👍😃😃😃🌸🌺🌼
Where we live we never have storage auctions but we have summer cottages and a lot of the people who owned them have been dying and they have been having estate sales and garage sales. We stock up on items in the summer and we do quite well with books but only old books and old cookbooks. I am crazy for kitchen gadgets and items and my husband is totally into vintage paper, we also have done quite well going to the 127 garage sale that is in multiple states, we bought 15 boxes of Lionel trains for 65.00 and we made over 1,700 on those trains and the tracks. Thank you for sharing glad you are doing well ❤
@@PaperandMoose . If you ever decide to head out to northern Michigan, send us a message and we will gladly take you to a bunch of our favorite places and the tons of estate sales here and then to lunch. My husband and I do pretty good on EBay and I think we have more fun hunting for things than we do selling them 😂. His parents have had booths in antique stores for years and my grandparents collected antiques so we inherited the bug. We also wanted to head out your way to come to that flea market you and Taco stacks sell at, we even bought a new trailer to bring home different kinds of stuff. Happy hunting.
Please tell me you tried out the tap shoes :). I think I would have. For about 5 minutes before I remembered it takes more than tap shoes to tap dance. Hmm. Tap shoes, ballet shoes, stuff from the Soviet Union ... did you ever see the movie "White Nights?" Maybe these were Mikhail Baryshnikov's things? Well, nothing earth-shaking but it seems you will recoup your money & then some. Are you feeling these ongoing aftershocks from the 04/05 earthquake? Hope you have a great weekend and the weather is spectacular for FMs & other things (maybe the Tote Man will buy your Totes. Or trade you things. Now I'm thinking about the history of Totes. Can't be more than 50 years?)! PS I found some more material from that Wilkes-Barre dentist (Hamilton) - will send in next box ...
Good luck with all the books Renee. I had a yard sale a couple years ago and on the second day was asking 1.00 for a full box of books and no one was interested. I even had a hard time finding a place to donate them to. It’s amazing to me that someone will pay full price to read a book one time but won’t pay 1.00 for a full box.
Iffy content value, but the green totes and liners are really nice. Always interesting to see what someone else enjoys reading. Good luck with the resale. 😊😊😊
Hi Rene. Just a quick question. Do you have to rent a storage unit to store all your tote/pallet auction stuff. Just curious.. Thanks for another fun video. Dan
I am storing these at his place, as there’s no room at the inn at mine! Especially for 40 totes! But I’m going through them pretty quickly, as I don’t want to take up a lot of his storage for a long time.

In the retal business we call those green bins break pack bins. And I've never seen them with liners. You definitely have more then 120 dollars in break pack binds alone. You scored I think .

I know last time I moved I would have loved to use those for packing, but they were too expensive to pay full price at the store.
I know you said you only want to do eBay but not using bookscouter you are missing out. You scan your books and it will tell you who’s buying it right now. No shipping cost to you. I use to sell on eBay but now I just sell them outright. Take the highest price from whichever company is buying the highest . Give it a try. At least look at it

There are certain types of books that sell well. Generally, popular fiction is not worth much. Textbooks, technical manuals, and industrial books sell. History and art books can sell well too. 1st book being Siddhartha is a great sign. Absolute classic, worth reading.
And not worthless.
I'm amazed at the soft-storage-bags, inside of the bins, for added protection. Someone obviously cherished their collection.
Even $1/book at the flea market would help get your money back, also the totes!!Lots of fodder for junk journals too!!🥰🥰🥰
Those green totes are super sellable , they look really strong :)
I would pay $5 bucks each or even more with the liner pads. I love those style tubs.

Old Russian item. This person was a dancer, has gone to Russia I think and picked up a vintage or antique bowl for a memento.
And RPR is probably for the Romanian People's Republic (1947-65)
Maybe a Russian Ballerina 😅
