People store the strangest things in storage units! Let's see what I found this time... #storagewars #storageauctions Follow me on Instagram @paperandmoose
I always wonder what misfortune befell the owners of the storage unit and caused them to be unable to keep their stuff. It's interesting to see what you find but also a bit sad as well.
I applaud your adage to check everything. I once found a $50 Home Depot card in a batch of gift bags I paid a dollar for at an estate sale. Sold it on eBay for $48.50.
I heard that, in some places, when people get evicted, the landlord has to box up ALL their tenants stuff and put it in storage and give the person access to the stuff, but sometimes I wonder if the person just moves away and starts all over or ends up in prison or in a shelter.
It’s always fun to watch you guys buy a storage unit or a pallet just for the mystery of opening boxes that you have no ideas in it. Good entertainment two for me. Thank you.
A point of interest to people putting things into storage. If there is a lot of shredding and you don't have the time to do it yourself, there are places that provide shredding. Most of the UPS stores, here, take paper to shred. Yes, it costs some money, but it's worth it if you have a lot. My husband cleared out his fathers home and they never threw away one piece of paper and I went through the same thing when it came to my dad moving and downsizing. I started doing the shredding myself and wrecked one shredder and was so tired of shredding paper, with the replacement shredder, that we hauled the rest to UPS. I do think people have good intentions regarding the other stuff they store and just don't get around to dealing with it.
I've used the UPS paper shredding service. They charge by the pound but, I thought it was worth it terms of the time it would have taken me. I understand some towns offer free paper shredding. My town offers it in the spring and fall. Now I know!
Most people are putting their things in storage due to downsizing, moving in with relatives, hitting hard times, etc. It explains weird items being tossed in together willy-nilly as they were just trying to pack up the last items in a hurry.
A possible explanation for someone paying for storage and putting such things in it. I had to leave suddenly and had a few things that I couldn't give up or carry with me. Since I had space left over, I just put anything of value, potential value, for when I would have a place to put it. Even if you think they are valueless.
Hi Reneé, people don't consider the "value of goods to the cost of storage" relationship. How many pairs of scrubs could have been purchased with the money spent on storage fees? A lot! Have a blessed day 💖✝
For just 25 bucks, it's fun to gamble, and open the totes...Buzz whispers to Miss Moose " I never saw "Lord of the Rings" either! haha......I could hear Burl Ives singing "Silver and Gold" as you were pulling out that jewelry...Here's an idea.....you can use those tickets, and sell them for 5 bucks apiece to tour the "Paper and Moose" ephemera and ceramic Christmas Tree , and knee hugging elves collection😁😁
Yes I agree, why on earth would you pay to store what was in that unit? Thankfully, Christmas saves the day again. It's worth the $25 for the entertainment you provide us.😅❤🐨
Your storage tips were great. As an accountant, I tell people all the time to scan stuff, if you're not sure. Otherwise most of the paper work you need to retain on a yearly basis is far less than you might think and you don't need to keep them forever, ha. BTW, take a chance on the average cost of the units you're buying. As this is all linked to content here on you tube, it's an expense and can be written off taxes. Please seek advice from a professional in your area though. When I had my own business I sought out an outside CPA to advise and do my taxes. Still, you're young take a chance. ;)
I paid to store belongings in a facility like this one with limited access. I moved to Europe and with a few exceptions needed to store everything I owned including my car. The moving company I used owned the facility and, when I moved back to the US, I just had to call them and get everything delivered to my new address.
Buying storage lockers is like a lottery: in most cases you lost. Nonetheless you won again, Renée, because you just created another yt - block buster generating tons of $. Hopefully ! 🤞Concerning the content of this unit: you got some neat totes, a couple of gift cards, a winter hat, a bag of pennies and a whole pile of Christmas wrapping and tissue paper which is neat. So, not a bad result for a unit like that.👌No huge profits in sight so far, but also no losses. Thanks for the final advice as well, I am just shredding a lot of useless stuff which wasn´t mine. 😄Keep it up, and have a fantastic weekend ! 🌝 Greets from GER, U.
$25.00, I'm with you on the tissue paper. But, I would have been happy with all the Christmas wrap too. A few nice items for the flea too. Not too bad a unit. Have fun with it, kiddo.
I wonder if the facility goes through the totes, takes the good items, and makes a pallet of the totes that have little value in them. These totes don’t seem like what a person would only put in storage. Usually, they have more totes with household items, clothes, etc.
I know people who rent storage units. A long time friend has nine (9) units. We're in 2BR condo and I toss junk every day. You'll get $$ for the scrubs and jewelry even if it's junk. The empty totes are worth something, too. Tina, Al's wife
I think that last tote paid for the unit just because it saved you money. And your Aunt. And then there might be more gift cards to find. I liked it. And you still liked the the thrill of the hunt. I love you cutie pie! Stay safe and healthy. 💜😘💞💞💞🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏✌️👶
Hey Renee. For $5 bucks it's a steal. You made your money on tissue paper and wrapping paper as well. Ok, you got a small bag of pennies and jewelry. You did good. The other unit was unbelievably bad but not too bad. And the cost of it was more. God Bless you sweet heart 💜❤️. Take care of yourself. Love Mari'a. ❤️❤️💜💜👻👻👻🎃🎃🎃🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛🤗🤗🤗🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛👍👍👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍
Another pallet o' totes..🤔🙄 Looks like a bunch of personal paper..😢 The best find was Me Precious 😅😍 Was fun watching you go through the totes Rene..😮 Thanks for the fun..🎉 Take care..👍💕🔥👊
Nah...that's part of the adventure...better than what we have out here in the Bay Area...NO-THING!!! Get out the Krazy Glue! Toys Are Us died some years back out here. No buttons?? to go with the bows??? What people save! I was sent 7 sheets of cute fr-g stickers by a friend who knows of my liking of these creatures! Yesterday, at my Sal. Army trip, I bought a cute cookie jar in the shape, no not one of those, but of my other interest...vintage radios of the 20s-40s. This jar a very neat replica of a 1933 Philco Cathedral table model Set! All that wrapping paper...wall decoration for a Christmas living room?
I highly recommend watching the entire Lord of the Rings movie trilogy. It's really good and there's a lot of collectibles around it, including just the figurines you found, but also cards, pottery (mugs and stuff), jewelry, barbies, etc. And the character you're thinking of is Gollum/Smeagol. I'd also recommend getting acquainted with the books from which the LotR and Hobbit film series were made. The older editions of Tolkien's books are probably highly coveted by fans.
I enjoyed your video a whole lot! There might not have been any treasures. But, for $25 you picked up stuff that you eventually would've had to buy, anyhow. That's sure a win! Maybe the person had to make a quick exit and put everything in the totes, only to never bother to sort through the stuff and then finally just stopped paying for the storage. I'll tell ya, though - I sure don't know how they'd make due without those Tiki torches!!! I must've seen the "Lord Of The Rings" films dozens of times. Our TV service had a channel that played those films, only those films, on a continuous loop - day after day, week after week, year after year. The films are epic. Thanks again for taking us all along in your search for some treasures. It sure was great!
There are any number of reasons someone might pay for storage. One thing that comes to mind is a roommate or ex goes missing or goes to jail and you need to move but don’t want to throw away their stuff because you like the roommate or ex. So yeah, a little insensitive.
Is it true sometimes landlords who evict people must store personal effects for some time, then just default on rental and unit goes to auction? I really don’t know
Now you'll have to start watching lord of the rings with your new jewellery on never seen those films myself either loved that hat great video Renée 👍®️
Toy's R Us filed bankruptcy and closed however they have opened a few back up inside Macy's and they are supposed to open a handful of stores again in '24 but they don't take old giftcards. Toronto is the only place that a legit Toys R Us exist. That's Canada so they don't take old giftcards!! It was a big deal several years ago because people had tons of giftcards but they lost out.
My mom always said that tissue paper makes gifts elegant. That was definitely an elegant tote.
😂
I always wonder what misfortune befell the owners of the storage unit and caused them to be unable to keep their stuff. It's interesting to see what you find but also a bit sad as well.
Jail. Or prison.
@@rudolphbondefangerer5513
I usually wonder, too.
@kathleenj1158 The young lady said something about court documents, whoever owned this junk probably didn't pay anything for the storage of it.
I think often it's financial problems

What a hoot! Lots of stuff and not much treasure. Thanks for sharing!
To me it would be cheaper to replace that stuff than pay to store it. The old paperwork was junk when they stores it. 😅
I paid to store belongings in a facility like this one with limited access. I moved to Europe and with a few exceptions needed to store everything I owned including my car. The moving company I used owned the facility and, when I moved back to the US, I just had to call them and get everything delivered to my new address.
Check out the pennies, because if there are only them in the bag, maybe they are worth more than just pennies.
I appreciate that you are true to yourself and your followers
Looks like you got twenty five dollars worth of totes and a lot more of excitement 🎉
Toys r us closed nationwide years ago
@@gretchendemasi768 he said nothing of toys r us, but it is still in canada
@@gretchendemasi768was this an old video?
This is as fun as the old garage bags. $25 is good. $70 is a little more stressful because of the price. 🤣

yeah.... I don't trust them either....it's called cherry picking and it happens a lot....
The bargains just keep on getting discovered...and everything is resalable.Good unit!!!
I love that you get excited, and you have a great laugh! You should tell Taco Stacks to smile more! 😂
Renee, your money is in those scrubs, trust me ( nurse) I used to pay $40 & up. I think you did good!

If that's gold, you will probably spend all the money buying more units trying to top that one. It's a vicious cycle.😂😂
Good for the things you can use! And totes! AND 66,000 of us!!
And thank you for always commenting & watching!

Yay for scrubs, Christmas, & totes!
Little things you happy. So sweet
The drill is definitely a win. Sadly the toys r us GC is almost worthless unless it’s accepted by the new owners
Don't forget to go thru the paperwork as there could be money in there. Nice buy! Audra
You got a winner!!
25 bucks is not a bad amount to spend. You will get your money back on all that.
Nice tree topper might be vintage as the cool candle wall holder.
Loving 🎉 it all! You make the BEST of it! 🎉❤Thanks for the fun video!
You should make your money back selling those scrubs. Crazy what some people put in storage units.

Seems like I heard Toys R Us was coming back, don’t know if it’s true. 🤷🏼♀️ Maybe. Have a good weekend, Renee! ✌🏼❤️
I love the joy you share with us in your treasure hunting! Also, the let down when things aren't up to your hopes! 🥰
About those Toys R Us gift cards….
They went out of business 5 years ago
But people might buy for nostalgia
Thank you for this mystery auction❤👏
@3:03 As a crafter I would be delighted to find a whole roll of old tickets in the box. 😁
You look good thru that stuff ,,,,you may find Taco Stacks a personality .
That pink roll could have necklaces.
Not bad....not bad at all...thanks for sharing your finds...🥰🥰
So glad for you Renee.
Well wrap me up, put a bell & a bow on me and send me home! Well, at least some usable items 👍🤣👍

The gas can cost $15.00 . They had the room in the tote so why not . People know there going to need one someday . So why spend another $15.00 .

I think there may be a couple Toys R Us in the U.S. I know some Macy's have a Toys R Us pop up within their stores.
We have Toys R Us here in Canada
Thank you for the entertainment, REnee.
You never know what will be there.🎉🎉🎶🎶🌹🌹

I loved everything your attitude! And yes, why do people pay to store that kind of stuff?
There is “paper” (yeah) and then there is “paperwork” (boo). Thanks for the fun.
gas cans are pricey, so that is why it was stored
Tickets are great in junk journals
Check the pennies might be wheat pennies or something, someone saved them for a reason
Great video 😊
The tickets will probably sell at the flea market for a school or church to use for a raffle. They aren’t cheap to buy.
That furry hat is pretty cool 😊
That is just one more unit closer to your big win!
Hey you got a nice hat out of it to!!! THANKS
The totes are worth $25!
Fun and storage items need to be gone through.
Your all set for wrapping.paper etc for quiet a while
Toys R Us went out of business years ago. Those cards might sell on eBay as collectibles.

Nine tote bins sold at $5.00 each, more than covers your purchase price! Anything else pure profit.
Oooppps ding ding ding wrapping paper yes
That pink thing is for your safety strap to cushion your shoulder
We don't know what led people to store items. I have been there twice myself.
YAY
I always wonder if this stuff has been gone through and if only the crap is left because why would anyone pay to store literal trash?
Scrubs sell pretty well, but are long tail.
Scrubs are expensive - you might get lucky there.
Toys R Ys went out of business a few years ago.
Well you can say this woman wasn't money wise 😂 to pay storage all that time for crapola is crazy 🤪
Is that a taco stacks van drop box🤩🤩🤩🤩
Watch out fir cutco knives they will be stamped
So will you let us know if there's anything on the Toysrus card?
Christmas tote saves Rene from buying wrap for awhile.
When in doubt, part it out!

How much do you want for the wrapping paper? I love paper! Especially tissue paper ❤❤❤
