It's actually nuts isn't it. Goblet Of Fire is my favourite book, and when I re-read it, it's always on the back of my mind that if the studio just managed to find a director who cared about it as much as David Yates, and Alfonso Cuarón, the Goblet Of Fire movie, which is considered the worst of the bunch, could've been turned into something worthy of an Oscar. Don't get me wrong, I understand that there were some good parts that simply couldn't make the movie because of run time, but the Goblet Of Fire was a very skilled writer at the peak of her trade, and it's disrespectful to her and her product that the best she produced wasn't treated in the way it deserved

It makes sense because it’s mountainous. The coldest weather I’ve been in was about -34 Celsius in upstate New York. I haven’t been to the Pyrenees mountains in France and Spain, I’ve only been to Paris, Normandy and Brittany in France. The weather in Brittany is comparable to the weather in ireland and Britain(I lived in Ireland for a bit). How I think Students would be sorted at Beauxbaton.
The students would one by one approach a burning lamp, with four doors behind it. Next to the lamp on a high table would be a quill and parchment. Written on the parchment would be a single question.
    "What is your deepest desire."
After the student writes their answers the would then burn the parchment in the lamp and a key would appear on the table. The door that the key opens would glow brightly and the student would enter through to the Great hall right behind their house table to be met with thunderous applause.
I think the Beauxbaton great hall's walls and ceilings are made complete of glass giving it a very open and light appearance.

Beauty, Poise, Etiquette and Flamboyance are the houses I would divide Beauxbatons into. Each house would be symbolized by a rose. The symbols are based on real world meanings behind colored roses. Beauty - light blue rose; Poise - light pink rose; Etiquette - white rose and Flamboyance - orange rose. Students are presented with a seed and a small gold cauldron adorned with the schools crest. The students are instructed to bring their cauldron up during the sorting ceremony. It sits atop a gold pedestal. A teacher lifts a water pitcher and pours a strange liquid into the cauldron. The students then places the seed in the caldron and it grows immediately and blooms into the color corresponding to their house. Afterwards the rose and the liquid turns to a beautiful show before disappearing. The cauldrons are kept by the students as a keepsake and is an actual tool they can use for homework.

There might be somewhat of a problem with your (nice!) idea because of history: The symbolism of a rose has changed across time. In the medieval period, a rose symbolized "secret". You can see that in castles, etc. which date from that time: Roses were often engraved above the doors that led to a ruler's council chamber. And in a time when most people were illiterate, the use of symbols was highly regulated (just like the colors people were allowed to wear which had to reflect their place in society).
So I assume that it is at least unlikely that roses were initially used as symbols when the school was founded. It'd also (at that time) in a way contradict what school is about: Not to keep secrets but to unlock them.

Beauxbatons lovers, can you help me?💜
I'm writing a meditation set in Beauxbatons during Christmas. The only things that we get to know from the books is that, in the Dining Chamber, Wood Nymphs serenades the students while they eat and the hall is adorned with great, glittering, non-melting ice sculptures.
Plus, there's a magnificent fountain in the middle of the school’s park, believed to have healing and beautifying properties, named after Flamel and Peronelle.
I imagine Beauxbatons during Christmas like a mesmerizing winter wonderland.
    My questions for you are:
    - what spells/type of magic do you associate with Beauxbatons? 🔮
    - what do you think the Dining Chambers looks like?
    - what can you see in the gardens? Animals/flowers/colors? 🦋
    - what do students eat/drink for Christmas?
    - anything else you imagine/associated with "Christmas at Beauxbatons"

I always imagined them similar to hogwarts in shape, but water fountains to the left and right of the wall.
Large Open windows letting in the breeze and magical birds. The nymphs playing there song to the sound of the flowing water.
The interior to be white marble accented in gold ornate French design.

I think a sorting ceremony where the students are separated into 4 different groups sort of like old Roman Legions each one has the same number of people but it is basically divided by family history and prestige. The more well known your family is and with perhaps additional letters from other honorable people in the world you can get into the better group. Also beyond that I think they have competitions between the 4 groups perhaps safe duels of sorts between them. At least that's what I think because their crest is 2 wands crossing each other makes me think of duels and how traditional minded and respectful to their headmistress makes me think these things. Like in the book they stayed standing until Madam Maxine sat down herself.

To answer questions about language and Beauxbâton, I think the courses are taught in French, but that is probably not a problem for pure bloods and half blood wizards ; French has been a lingua franca and the language of knowledge similarly as Latin, and with seemingly no other school than Hogwarts, Beauxbâton and Durmstrung in Western and Central Europe, there is a good bet that English French and German are the dominating languages in wizarding community.

I think that in Beauxbatons the drawing of houses, which there should be either 2 or 3, something should be done with mirrors. Beauxbatons reminds me a lot, from the little description there is, of a palace inside, identical to Versailles, so there should be a corridor with mirrors on the walls - as there is in Versailles, where the first year student walks and the mirror reflects the home or something like that. Due to the theme presented in the films etc, I thought that the houses could be associated with nymphs - naiads, dryads, pleiads or others.
So, when the student crosses this corridor, or is facing a selection mirror, the nymph of his house would appear and this would be the selection.
    IDK ahaha crazy ideas ahaha

*Devereaux's School for Magical Youngsters* . . . (Fr. École de Devereaux Magique les Jeunes) an American wizarding school located in New Orleans, Louisiana founded by Beauxbatons graduate and alumnus Demetrius Devereaux, a half-blood wizard (1685-1801) and his wife Caroline Thibideaux, a quarter-Veela witch (1689-1815) with the help of some West African/Haitian wizards and witches in 1718 at the same time the city of New Orleans was founded. Located deep within the bayou of New Orleans appearing as a somewhat splitting image of Château de Chambord with a blended touch of French architectural styles of Renaissance, Châteauesque, and French Colonial along with antebellum, but smaller than the original château and large enough to be a university campus. A bronze statue of Demetrius and Caroline joined together holding hands and holding up their wands is in the school courtyard representing their establishment of the school.

Than their next sorting would be which person would be an effective mentor, and help their follow Schoolmates. Like a pure blood with a half blood, or half blood with a muggle born, or pure blood with a muggle born. So they could learn from each other while learning their school's subjects.

The whole reason I found this video was because I was wondering if The school had any mail students. However I'm guessing the reason they made it at all female school well primarily Lead you to believe it wasn't all female school in the movie it's because a lot of preparatory schools are either all female or all mail when you look at drum string for example it is every let the believe it isn't all maie school. Now that we have an American school established with Iverymore I do believe there should be at least 2 African and 1 Asian school established because the types of magic that are used in there for folklore are vastly different. I mean Chinese magic for example uses a lot of citrus and glyphs that is really cool. And A lot of from what I understand central African magic is what would be considered sympathetic magic using A lot of More potion style I just think that will be really cool to see personally.
