There seems to be somewhat of a plausibility gap regarding the name "Beauxbatons", I think. Because at that time (10th to 13th century) regardless if one assumes the school was situated around Cannes or in the Pyrenees, the language there would have been Occitan. Thus, in modern terms, think more of the Catalan or Basque language/ vocabulary then modern French. So, the name should actually be more like "Hogwarts", which is obviously rooted in old Germanic/ Saxon languages (actually, though rarely used these days but in maybe some German dialects, for a native German speaker it's clearly recognisable as "hochwärts" [upwards]).
😍 I appreciate your dedication for proper pronunciation of "Beauxbaton" it's such a beautiful French word which us English speakers naturally struggle with.
Beaxbaton receiving students from all over Europe and not just in France itself makes me wonder if some of Europe's royal families may have been secretly wizards. The reason I consider this could be a possibility is because French was the lingua franca used by the upper classes of several kingdoms in Europe, and was the common language for trade and diplomacy for centuries. So it may have been possible at least before the statue of secrecy was put in place for highborn witches and wizards throughout Europe to have learned to speak French prior to their admission into the school, or learnt the language during their time there. Once they graduated and returned to their home countries, they would have also brought back with them French influences such as its culture, architecture and cuisine.

If not I feel bad for all French peoples and children all over North America and South America who are fans of Harry Potter/Wizarding World and even who have French Descents to France.
I think it's totally possible, it seems to be a boarding school after all, it already accepts students from abroad within its official "territory". And as we know Durmstrang accepts student from outside its "territory", therefore why not Beauxbâtons ?
Remember when people used elephants for war? Back then, most people had never even seen one, and could be used for intimidation and to literally crush their opponents. Giants, I figure are used in a similar fashion, plus, Magical Britain had them all cast out into the high mountains, bunching them together to fight for limited resources; a big reason when they joined the Dark Wizard for Hogwarts. They are not as bright as elephants, but were a huge problem!
If I were JK Rowling, I would create a new magical school. This new school would be located and built deep in the middle of the Bavarian Alps (magically enchanted to be invisible to Muggles) with the help of those from Hogwarts, Beauxbatons, Durmstrang, and Ilvermorny. I would call this school *Waltzburg College of Fine Magic.* This new school would open in either the late 90s (let's say after the Battle of Hogwarts) or early 2000s, thereby making it the newest magical school in the world. Waltzburg (like Hogwarts) would be accepting of all magical human beings regardless of their blood status and would teach Defense Against the Dark Arts (and NOT the Dark Arts). Waltzburg would accept magical students from all of Central Europe (Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Liechtenstein, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Switzerland). Waltzburg would be a mixed school for both boys and girls. The coat of arms of Waltzburg would be a jet-black eagle on a peach-coloured field. The architecture of Waltzburg would resemble the typical Bavarian fairy-tale castles (such as Neuschwanstein Castle) of Ludwig II (sometimes called the *Swan King* or *Fairy Tale King* ). Like Hogmeade is to Hogwarts, there would be a nearby all-magical village (invisible to muggles) for the Waltzburg students to visit; this village (let's call it *Pötzburg* ) would resemble the typical Central European fairy tale village (such as Rothenburg ob der Tauber in Bavaria or Hallstadt in Austria). The uniform of the Waltzburg students to wear would be the same as that worn by the Vienna Boys' Choir (a sailor suit) and the Vienna Girls' Choir (a dirndl). How big would Waltzburg be, let's just say it would be large enough to house the entire wizarding population of Central Europe between the ages of 11 and 19. I can also see Waltzburg developing something of a rivalry with Durmstrang (which is located in the far north of Europe and which is willing to accept); Durmstrang (which accepts international students, but presumably mainly students from the WHOLE of Northern and Eastern Europe) does not admit Muggle-born students, so Muggle-borns who are born in the northern and eastern part of Central Europe are educated in Waltzburg.
Yes, that's nice and all but Europe has enough wizarding schools. I think a far better, more interesting and innovative scholastic magical institution should be established in North America. Actually, I believe one already exists, the Amazon Prime EsSchool DeMajic. Heck, even muggles can make items appear on their front porches the next day. How magical is that?! Because the movies pronounce it with an English accent In French, Beauxbâtons is made with 2 words : - "Beaux". Pronounced "bo" (the x is not pronounced) which is the masculine plural form of the word "beautiful" - "Bâtons". Pronounced "baton" (the s is not pronounced, "on" is a nasal sound which doesn't exist in the english language I think ?). It is the plural form of the word "sitck", not like a wand but more like a staff or a piece of wood used for combat. Both of them is therefore pronounced "bobaton" exactly as it is said in the video
"Students from all over Europe", well it's only France, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, The Netherlands, Listenbourg and Luxembourg. Clearly way more than nothing, but way less than "all over Europe". I'm wondering how they can just not accept ghosts, as it's nearly impossible to do something against them. Or maybe the ghosts there are respectful and polite enough to observe a simple rule.

honestly...? Using pictures of world famous Neuschwanstein castle (built in the 1880s) in Germany as Beauxbattons ..? A star among castles and palaces with a tragic fairytale star struck history of its own and the concept behind Disney´s Sleeping beauty castle .... sorry but that´s pathetic 😜 🙄 Chateau de Chambord would have been more believable don´t you think ... (plus, it´s actually really in France and far more suitable😉)
sounds though for the exception of Flames like the Beauxbatons School is kind of mediocre, since it doesn't produce any extraordinary wizards like Voldemort or Gregorovitch

There are no men in France, just like there are no women in Bulgaria. That's all the history you need to know for the movie
Bulgarian woman are just as real as nargles
I would try to go there all girls pretty much and there all pretty much hot lol all the ones tht came to Hogwarts were hot so I'd try there first then I would go to Hogwarts
Why are they only girls in the film
Cause the film cut out scenes that mattered.
Um….don’t they have males in France?
it was a choice made for the movie
@@matiasavellanal5244 Well, duh. I realize that, but it was still a bad choice.

I could be wrong it has been years since I looked into the wizard world but I'm pretty sure it's an all girl school
It's co-educational school in books and was misrepresented as an all girls school in movies.
Similarly Durmstrang was misrepresented as an all boys school despite being co-educational in books.
I thought Beauxbatons was all girl school ??
In the movie, not the books
honestly...? Using pictures of world famous Neuschwanstein castle (built in the 1880s) in Germany as Beauxbattons ..? A star among castles and palaces with a tragic fairytale star struck history of its own and the concept behind Disney´s Sleeping beauty castle .... sorry but that´s pathetic 😜 🙄
Chateau de Chambord would have been more believable don´t you think ...
(plus, it´s actually really in France and far more suitable😉)
No such thing as a" French Hogwarts". There's only one Hogwarts.
It's the FRENCH equivalent
sounds though for the exception of Flames like the Beauxbatons School is kind of mediocre, since it doesn't produce any extraordinary wizards like Voldemort or Gregorovitch
It is especially that there is little information. I seem to have seen somewhere that they have a nice record of winning the Triwizard tournament over the past few centuries
Fleur was rude......well, French, you know.
No, because she was too honest. The English-speaking world can be very hypocritical too, that's why they think she is rude.
First
The laughably most useless school in the Triwizard tournament.
I seem to have seen somewhere that they have a nice record of winning the tournament over the past few centuries.
